This bakery is the star of the show as far as Auburn bakeries are concerned. Really, all of Placer. The brown butter latte is the best latte I've had in my life. It can be pretty sweet depending on who makes it, so that might not be everyone's cup of tea (coffee:) but I absolutely love it. Their savory brioches and croissants are top tier and they're always changing them out to keep a good variety going. I haven't tried many of their pastries and cakes but the cakes especially look so decadent and intricate. I love their rye bread. They will also slice it for you if you purchase a loaf at the farmers market and bring it in to their brick and mortar location. This place has a major farm to table vibe and everything tastes so fresh. If you've ever spent any time in Santa Cruz, it's very much like Companion Bakeshop in terms of quality and offerings. I went to school there and this place always feels like a little slice of my previous life. Came here with two friends, seating is very limited so I would suggest snagging a table when possible, the line was literally out the door when we arrived. I got a turkey bacon and avocado sandwich, and while it wasn't a large meal it was definitely a quality meal.
