I've been to the Moo location in Beacon Hill, Boston before, so I had a pretty good idea of what to expect--but the Burlington location genuinely took me by surprise. From the moment we walked in, I was impressed by the layout, the cleanliness, and the overall atmosphere. The staff were fantastic, welcoming, and attentive, and the food was absolutely fantastic. Everything came together to make for a really enjoyable experience. A special thank you to Janine, our bartender, who was outstanding. She was friendly, professional, and made us feel right at home. Summary: Excellent food and some of the friendliest service I've experienced at a premium steakhouse made for a memorable birthday dinner. While the restaurant appeared a bit short-staffed at times and I unfortunately woke up with a lingering headache the next day, the overall experience was still very enjoyable and worthy of 4 stars. Service: Before we even walked in, the valet guy was super friendly, even though we parked ourselves. He held the door open for us and gave us his recommendations. Our server, Wafia (sorry, I don't know how to spell their name), really made my birthday dinner special. I don't know what word to use other than "chill" for her temperament. When my companion expressed that she didn't know what cut of steak to get, Wafia walked her through all the cuts of steak and how they differ in marbling. One reason I have to knock the review down to 4 stars is that we did feel like they were a bit short-staffed, since we discovered that Wafia was also working the bar. When she wasn't at our table, she was there. So when we were ready to order, we kept looking around for her, only to find she was busy at the bar. I saw what other reviews meant when they said their servers would disappear. However, their short-staffing might be because the 4th of July was the next day and there was a FIFA World Cup game going on. The other staff were very good about topping off our waters and were nice enough to engage with us as they did so, which made the experience feel different from other restaurants. I also appreciated how attentive the manager was. There was a situation where my companion dropped her fork and quietly said, "I need another fork" to me, and out of nowhere he came over to the table and told us he would get us another, and then 2 seconds later another staff member gave us one. When we left, the valet guy was still there to hold the door open and ask us what we thought. It was this added touch of friendliness that was most appreciated, and I have not seen a valet act this way at any other premium restaurant. Food: We found the food to taste exceptional. My 850 club sirloin was tender and well-cooked. The wagyu dumplings were so smooth and yummy. We loved the honey-roasted carrots and the bread. I found the bread and butter to be one of, if not the best, bread and butter offerings I've had compared to other steakhouses at this price point. We tried their famous milk and cookies and banana foster cake. I thought the cookies looked really good and were impressive for how they are baked to order, but I have had better cookies elsewhere at places like Cookie Monstah or Elite Dough Cookies. The little milkshake you get with the cookies was a cool touch and was very rich. The banana foster was huge with two large scoops of ice cream. My companion did think it had a bit too much rum and prefers Eddie V's style of burning, lighting the rum on fire, and pouring it on the cake. My last reason for why I have given this place a 4-star review is that when I woke up the next day, I had a throbbing headache that didn't go away, and even after taking a pill of Advil was still present. I'm not sure what did this to me, but what I will say is that I have had food from similar places that tend to add a lot of salt, like Abe & Louies and The Capital Grille, and I have never woken up the next day with a headache. I remember seeing the review about someone being on the porcelain throne after eating a tomahawk steak and thinking that it might just be a personal issue, but now I believe there is something to it. read more

It is so challenging to find a restaurant that serves excellent steak. Unfortunately, Moo didn't come through. This is really a 2.5 star, but the our bartender, Elise, tried so hard to make it right I've rounded up. Positives: The valet is friendly, attentive and even asked if we were celebrating something special. The car was retrieved promptly with a smile. My cosmo was very well made, in an adult size martini glass. $20 is what I was expecting from a high end steak restaurant. Wine, $18 is a generous pour. The bar is a good size and seats are cushioned. The complimentary bread is delicious and the chocolate cake is yummy. Disappointments: The wagyu beef dumplings, $31 for 5, were overwhelmingly dumpling and minimally beef. The beef was tasty, as was the soy ginger sauce, but the dumplings themselves were too thick and as the top half had no beef, they were too chewy and dense. The prime bone-in dry aged ribeye, $98, was ordered medium. After cutting into it, it was clear it was very undercooked, closer to a rare/medium rare. We ordered a side of bearnaise, $4, which did not arrive with the dish. When the recooked meat came back, the flavor was good, but the meat itself was dry and chewy. This should have been melt-in-your-mouth good, but it was not even close. We left most of it behind. They did take it off the bill (but not the sauce), and topped off our wine glasses to compensate for the shortfall. Even without the cost of the ribeye, the bill was $150. It makes me sad to say we will not be back and will continue on our quest to find a restaurant who offers a quality steak cooked to perfection. For now, that will be my grill at home. read more

Disclaimer that this is a slightly biased review because I came here for a work dinner that I did not have to pay for, so it's just a review of the food without knowing anything about the cost. I thought it was incredible and delicious. Bread rolls were amazing I had 3 of them. The salad was awesome, one of the best Caesar salads I've ever had. The steak is in my top 3 steaks I've ever eaten and was cooked absolutely perfectly with incredible flavor. Me and my husband are not fancy restaurant people but it was our 20th wedding anniversary so Mooo came verrryyyyy highly recommended! First - the service was phenomenal! We started with the Cesar salad for 2 and my husband got the lobster bisque- 10/10 for all! Next the food came, perfectly cooked, perfectly explained and plated! We each got steak (of course) with the mooo flight sides, added grilled broccolini and my husband got bone marrow - 10000/100000 for all. Let's just say we brought home so much leftovers because we wanted to try everything and are both dieting! Yes, we were definitely overfilled and could barely breathe but desert? Needed to happen. Terrific service! Many thanks to Leah and the wait staff for making our anniversary super-special. Easy to make reservations and no long line waiting (always a plus). Our menus read "Happy Anniversary" at the top. Mooo has a good variety of meal offerings, even for vegetarians and those with dietary needs. Dinner was excellent - perfect ribeye steak (rare and tender) and flaky branzino. The lobster bisque with pastry crust appetizer can be a delicious meal unto itself. Also ordered tater tots (Mooo's own version - yum!), mixed mushrooms and broccolini which nicely complemented our meals. We were too full for dessert, but were delighted again when chocolates and ice cream arrived at our table with "Happy Anniversary!" written in chocolate syrup on the plate. Solid food and service. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The place has a dark dimly lit vibe. The setup is different than its predecessor (L'Andana). The east coast oysters were fresh and the accoutrements were top notch, especially the mignonette. The sirloin tartare had a visual vibe. The beef was nicely chilled but the smoke overpowered the flavor. My wife's beef Wellington was solid and perfectly cooked. The combination of foie gras, mushroom, greens and steak was delectable. I ordered the dry aged porterhouse but the waitress accidentally put in the dry aged ribeye. When I commented on the error the staff and management were very apologetic, even removing the steak off the bill for making me wait for my steak. I felt like that was above and beyond service. The porterhouse arrived only a few minutes later so I didn't have to wait too long and it was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The chocolate cake is a must get for chocolate lovers. Needed to find a place in the area for a fancy private dinner and landed on Mooo...Burlington! Definitely did not leave here hungry at all! Since we actually had booked a private room, we had our own menu. I think I was full even before we got to the actual menu, because the hors d'oeuvres were plentiful! Had tuna tartre, wagyu dumplings, crab cakes, wagyu meatballs, and mushroom risotto...many times over. Had lobster bisque as a starter, which was good but creamier than I would have preferred. I was only able to eat so much of this before it became too much. Had our pick of different entrées, of which I picked the ribeye. Solid ribeye, well cooked. The butter that it served with definitely added to the flavor. The beef wellington though was absolutely insane as it was stuffed with foie gras, spinach, and mushroom duxelles. I've never seen a beef wellington go this extravagant! Sides were whipped Yukon gold potatoes, creamed spinach, truffled Parmesan fries, and mixed exotic mushrooms. I enjoyed them, but I had little room left at this point. By the time we got to the desserts, which was a dessert trio of chocolate pot du creme, classic creme brulee, and mixed berries with champagne sabayon, I had nothing left. Managed to finish it, but could barely enjoy it. So stuffed! Service was fantastic, as I would expect from having a private room. Came here for a baby's 1st birthday event and wow what an amazing team they have here! All staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was amazing and I would definitely recommend coming here for a meal or to host one of your own events! They had multiple rooms available for different needs. We had a dining area and then a different area for activities. The bartenders were quick and drinks were on point. The lobster bisque was delicious. Very creamy and just the right thickness. Their bread was definitely a win too! Warm, soft, and flavorful with their ball of butter. I got the filet and it was made to my liking with a sauce under it. It came with mashed potatoes and veggies, which completed the meal! Last thing was the chocolate cake- so moist and flavorful. Also had a scoop of ice cream to go with the taste and texture. This was my fourth time at Mooo..., and while it's a solid steakhouse, it's definitely not my first choice given the other great steak options in Burlington. We had to wait about 30 minutes past our reservation time, and eventually were told we'd need to sit on the bar side unless we wanted to wait even longer. The bar side itself isn't bad, it's actually more secluded, which is nice, but the service over there is extremely lacking. We had to ask for the complimentary bread multiple times, and it didn't come out until after our appetizers, at which point it kind of defeats the purpose. The apps are definitely delicious. Calamari fried perfectly and has great spice with the added peppers and big portion size. Steak tartare always has a good flavor profile as well, However, you could tell our waitress was definitely out on the bar side and not the dining room for a reason. That said, the steaks are pretty solid, which is obviously expected at that price point, and I do like that they all come with bone marrow, which is a nice touch. Dessert was a highlight, the cookies and milk are delicious and a great way to end the meal. They also offer a beef wellington which is the only big time steak house i've seen do this. We were given a gift card to enjoy here and we're excited to try somewhere new. You definitely need reservations as we made them about 5 days before and could only get bar seating! However, we weren't on top of other guests at the bar and could hear each other just fine. I'd sit there again! We were sat right away and greated right away. My husband got an old fashioned and said it was the best one he's ever had. I can't remember the name of my cocktail, but that was also nice. They immediately brought out delicious bread and butter. We decided to skip appetizer and go right for the meals with some sides. I got the wagyu filet medium rare and my husband got the New York strip medium rare. My wagyu came out extremely overcooked, I would say medium well-well done. When our bartender asked how everything was, I showed her the steak and they made it right and got me a new one. Normally I wouldn't have said anything, but it's a $120 cut of steak and my first time thing wagyu so I wanted it the way I ordered. There was no fuss and the next time it came out perfectly! It was very flavorful and juicy. I am now spoiled by Wagyu forever. The mashed potatoes were our favorite side, followed by the spicy broccolini! The lobster mac and cheese was surprisingly bland. Went here last night. The staff is very professional and polite. We got an amazing espresso martini and the devils advocate drink was good but very strong. We started with the wagyu beef dumplings which were amazing, I literally wanted to drink the leftover sauce. However after we ordered our entree I think we were forgotten about. We were waiting for our food for about 45 minutes and we had to ask another server the status on our food. They were very nice about it and brought our food out shortly after and comped one of our drinks but for somewhere so prized on their service it did feel awkward that they totally forgot about our meals. Nonetheless, my New York sirloin was delicious, honestly the best steak I've had in a while and the tater tots are so damn good and cheesy. The steak frites were also great. I really enjoyed this meal I just had to knock it one star because of the service since this is part of the experience you're paying for at a restaurant like mooo. The valet was absolutely amazing, so friendly and so efficient. I sat at the bar and it took a while before anyone noticed me, took my drink order but I was never offered a menu. It was 5 PM. It was only moderately busy. They were empty seats at the bar. I ordered a beer and they gave me the check, and told me "no rush." I then asked for a menu and explained that I was waiting for someone and they made two place settings. My fiancee arrived and they completely ignored her for about 15 minutes. Weird. When they finally took her drink order and served it, it was made well. We then sat there for about 20 minutes before they asked if we wanted to order food, which we did. I expected to drop a lot of money here, and I was not wrong. All in, with tax and tip and parking was $756 for 4 people. This included 2 drinks and a moderately priced bottle of wine. Atmosphere and service are 5*, although the wine sommelier seemed disappointed that I choose my own wine rather than asking her advice. I was happy with my wine selection. The only negative thing I can say about the service is that they delivered one roll per diner, and when they were all eaten, a refill was not offered. 3 of us had steak and one had lobster. All of the steaks were perfectly cooked and extremely tender. I had the $95.00 60 Day Dry Age Ribeye. It was a good piece of meat with virtually no waste. At home we get boneless rib roasts and cut them up into steaks at about $13 per steak. Then I cook them on the grill. Mine are juicer and more flavorful, but not always cooked to perfection. I had never had a $95 steak before, so it was an interesting experiment. My conclusion is that it was not worth the money. Two others in our party got Filet Minion. My wife thought it was everything you could ever expect in a Filet, except that it was not warm enough by the time it got to our table. Our lobster eater seemed very pleased. I started with a Caesar Salad. The ingredients were all there, fresh, and high quality. However, the dressing lacked any of the traditional Caesar flavor. The anchovies were particularly large and of much higher quality than the canned ones at most restaurants. The Sea Salt Fries were good but not exceptional. Asparagus was very good. Everyone seemed to like the Roasted Mushrooms. I was very disappointed in the Bananas Foster. All the ingredients seemed to be there with the right consistency, but the flavor was totally lacking compared to Fosters I've had at other high quality restaurants. It was clearly short on brown sugar and rum. The Valrhona Chocolate Cake was a generous portion but not exceptional in taste. read more

For entree, we tried beef Wellington, prime New York sirloin, steak frites, and salmon. All super good and tender, cooked perfectly to our liking. the seasoning was perfect too, neither too light nor too heavy. Probably the best steaks we had so far this year. We also tried the classic roasted bone marrow, which was unique but I would have to say it was a bit too greasy and probably not my type. We ordered roasted exotic mushrooms and sautéed Spinach as sides, which were good but nothing special. The food was generous in portion and more than enough to feed for 4 people! This was my first time at the Burlington location. It's Mooo so it will be a bit pricey, and justifiably so (don't you hate high prices that don't match the quality?! Not the case here). Kim O. Was our server. She was extremely pleasant and attentive. Kim recommended pairings for my steak and was knowledgeable about both the wines/cocktails and the overall menu. We had the steak and lamb. Both were mouth watering. The vin cotto and mint jelly were perfect with the lamb. I dipped my steak in the sauce too (10/10 would recommend). I found this location to have more of a hip vibe. I've been to beacon hill which is great as well but this location wasn't quite as buttoned up, while still maintaining a classy environment. Perfect for a date night or girls night out. read more

While the ambiance whispers of elegance, the food screams mid-range. Thankfully the drinks were stiff because a $29 burger is sacrilegious for the quality of the meat itself. Charred to hell on the outside and pink on the inside isn't fancy, it's robbery. Ketchup at the very bottom of a shot glass wasn't inviting for consumption, it inhibited it. Not to mention that the same burger was ordered twice and the amount of aioli differed vastly in each dish. After much deliberation, we dined here for a wedding celebration as a party of 8. On a rainy Friday night, there were a good amount of parking spaces in the lot. And the entire experience was incredible. Our waiter was super nice, accommodating, and went the extra mile for all of us. Before I start with what we actually ordered, there's complimentary warm parker house rolls. With soft butter. Heaven. We started with the Grilled spanish octopus and the roasted bone marrow. The octopus was super tender and delicious. The presentation of the bone marrow was fantastic, but despite the size of the bone, there wasn't much for everyone at the table to get a proper taste. Each order of bone marrow is probably more appropriate for 3-4 people to sample. The marrow, though, had a good flavor and also a big fan of the roasted garlic. Definitely saved some of the garlic for other dishes. We also got two orders of the side flight that includes whipped potatoes, creamed spinach, mushrooms, and truffled parmesan fries. Every side was delicious, and the table favorite was the fries. Super crispy, and nicely salty from the parmesan. And now the steak. I ordered the Brandt Prime Ribeye, and my goodness it was probably the best steak I've ever had. I ordered a medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. The meat was marbled and super tender, something you just can't get from any supermarket or casual restaurant cut of beef. Everyone at the table was super impressed with their steaks. Service was slow and on both occasions our entrees took an inordinate amount of time and were lukewarm at best when they arrived. So very disappointed! Following an event at the MA Statehouse on Wed evening (10/1), we arrived at restaurant at 840pm. Bar was crowded due to baseball game (Red Sox v Yankees) and about 1/3 tables were still occupied with diners. Hostess informed that kitchen closed at 830pm but we could sit at the bar for drinks and apps. She left to check for three seats at the bar and returned to say there were none and none were anticipated due to the game. No one seemed to be planning to leave until the game was over. We asked if we could sit at a table near the bar and limit ourselves to drinks and appetizers. We were informed that would NOT be possible. At the same time (now 850pm) a couple arrived and were informed by the same hostess that their table would be ready in just a moment. When I asked why they could be seated for dinner with the kitchen closed as we were informed, I was told that they were sent from the Ritz Carlton, who had called 10 minutes prior. When I asked if that same courtesy could be extended to us having arrived prior to them, the answer was absolutely no. This surprised myself, and my two guests quite significantly as that has not been our previous dining experience at this location and due to the hour and expected time that the restaurant would remain open due to the Red Sox game. This was a pretty solid dinner. My first cocktail, forbidden orchard, was nice but my drink Devil's Advocate was not. It had a heavy cucumber flavor and I risked hoping it was subtle because I like mescal. The wait staff is very attentive. While the bananas foster wasn't the show you usually expect it tasted amazing and it was the best dessert. This was a $300+ dinner for us. It's definitely not a good suit for a light dinner. You will be quite full. It offers beef Wellington which is always fun to try. I personally liked theirs better than Ramsay's kitchen. The flavor was amazing. They offer complimentary valet but it would be nice to leave a few spaces in the front for non-valet. Solid choice, great flavors...good for date nights and special dinners. read more

A fun evening with great food and exceptional service. Our server, Chris, was not only attentive...but entertaining as well...enhancing our experience. Especially liked the lobster bisque and the creme brulee. A definite "do again" next time we are in Boston. read more

This is a beautiful place! It's a great alternative location versus having to go into the city and paying gif parking. Service is always very attentive. I sat at the bar given that I arrived about 2 hours before closing. Food- idk I wasn't impressed. I've visited a few times in the past and always enjoyed their food. This time it was meh! I only did appetizers Bc the meatball dish upset my stomach. On other visits I ordered the dry aged steak which i always enjoy with no sauce needed. After this visit, I'll look into trying the many other steakhouses in burlington. read more

Mooo is definitely a special treat meal. It's expensive, there's no getting around that. But it was still packed on a Saturday night. There is a parking valet available, because those spots in front fill up fast. I was advised you can self park at the church next door, which doesn't seem too bad a walk... But the valet service is complimentary, remember to tip the nice fellow! If you give your valet card to your server before you leave, they will try to have your car waiting for you out front. Inside is definitely a cow theme - lots of black and white. There's a small seating area across from the bar to wait, but since they take reservations online that seems to be the most expedient way in. My server, Kevin, was very kind and informative. There is complimentary bread served with salted butter - curses, it is wonderful! The lobster bisque was more sherry than bisque, but the puff pastry it was under was delicious. It's definitely more adult of a bisque though. There were also real lobster meats in it. The meat was well seasoned and well cooked. It included a butter spread displayed in a bovine bone you could apply to your cut of beef. The special cauliflower was amazing, and the truffle not too overpowering. The mashed potatoes - mwah! Creamy, hot, lumpless, they were perfection. If you are dining alone or with one other person, the sides are HUGE and meant to be shared. They will give you paper to go containers, but if you're not in the area maybe have some more substantial ones. You'll want to try to save the sides for later. read more

We were there for birthday celebration plus lady's night out. We reserved the function room. What a beautiful room with great friendly waiters. The steak is well done to perfection. Chef Eduardo came to greet us. That's a surprise!All the dishes that we had were amazing including the dessert. The menu even has birthday girl's name on it, that's a nice touch. The staff was very knowledgeable and attentive. They didn't miss a beat. The food, while expensive, was absolutely delicious and well portioned.
