Braised beef hash
Meg C.

Came here for brunch and the place was almost empty. They have a $20 brunch special where you can order a brunch entree and get a bloody or mimosa with your meal, and it's not really worth it IMO. I got the braised beef hash and my partner got the brunch burger. The beef hash was okay - beef was kina stringy and dry, it's like they took left over beef stew and put it on plain homefries with a bit of onion, topped it with fried eggs and called it a hash. My toast was griddled flat with very little butter. My partner liked his brunch burger, seems like this is a decent place for a burger. The bloody wasn't good, tasted like an oxidized version of Mr. And Mrs. Ts, I didn't finish it. Service was okay, kind of frosty, thought it was odd the server stood far away whenever he spoke to us. Space is pretty big, clean, dark, and traditional. Overall sub par experience, wouldn't go out of my way to return here.

A mid sized restaurant tucked into a plaza. Quite the eclectic crowd of people. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Our table allowed us to watch the busy kitchen crank out the meals. We loved seeing the various food that they offer coming out. They have a very good size drink menu, with signature cocktails and good selection of drafts. Wife went with a Cobb salad with chicken. A really good looking salad with a nice size piece of chicken on top. I had the Asian Shrimp. They were not overly battered, a plus, and had a good flavor. The veggies were crisp and fresh as well. We would not hesitate to come again

Service was good, food was pretty good. The pizzas were flavorful but everything else was lack luster. They do have plenty of seating available for larger parties. They have bar seating available as well. Got a few different pizzas, pasta dishes, and appetizers. For a party of 9 they were able to accommodate us last minute, didn't seem to be too busy at that time otherwise Lighting and decor a bit dark and outdated

Great vibes, drinks and food! Fell in love with this place. Came up non business travel and was lucky enough to find Krave. Great people and atmosphere too. I sat at the bar and Nicole was wonderful, as were Claire and John sitting next to me The service by Nicole and the rest of the staff was on point and the food delicious. I enjoyed the Ricotta Bruschetta followed by the Asian Beef Tacos. Wow! Great taste and well crafted. I will be back come January. Thanks.

We had a group of 8 of us that came in last night. Food looked amazing so we wanted to give it a try. We got seated and our server took a bit to get to us. We ordered some drinks and waited and waited. The martinis we ordered had blue cheese stuffed olives. They were bad, tasted really sour. So we had to order a few glasses of wine instead She finally came back and took our food order. I ordered a app and food. The app never came out first. Came out with the meal. They were ice cold. I ordered the Asian street tacos.. again ice cold. The rest of the food was just ok. My wife did like her tofu poke bowl, but our friend didn't have more than 1 bite of her salmon. Just disappointing. I never got a refill on my water. We were a party of 8 and there was just no attention.

Looked for a place for a late dinner. This place was really good. The atmosphere feels like from an older time than what you think you'd find in a strip mall...really liked it. I decided on fish tacos...a little surprised to see whole white fish instead of smaller piece but it was very good! The cabbage was very finely sliced with a very nice aioli and tomatoes. All our food was great, the mozzarella balls were really good. Waitress was knowledge, helpful, and did a great job stopping back by several time to make sure we didn't need anything.

The spare ribs were tasty and I think they had some truffle oil. The sushi and sashimi was very fresh. The chefs provided 3-6 pieces of sashimi/sushi/nigiri of each type of fish so we could do our own tasty menu together. Our sushi boat came with the seared hamachi make + caviar roll which was really good. I would definitly order that again. The prices can be expensive, but the sushi is fresh and worth it for special occassions!

Our table had the chicken parm, chicken broccoli alfredo and scallops and everyone mostly enjoyed their meals. The reason for 4 stars is the scallops were supposed to be served over mush vellutata drizzled with basil oil and they were served on plain mashed potatoes. They did not tell us about this substitution and we ordered 2 of them. This was disappointing as it was a factor for why I chose to order the dish and I did not finish my meal. Additionally they have a profiterole on their dessert menu I was excited to try and that is no longer available. I'd encourage the restaurant to be more proactive about letting diners know of substitutions during the ordering process and to update their online menu.

I couldn't hear people at the table let alone the rest of the event. The server asked how I wanted the steak, which was fine. In a single word....incredible!…read more Post 1917 opened its second location in the heart of Lexington. Service can sometimes be a foot note in a review but I'm starting with it. Service here is top notch. From the minute you enter until the moment you leave. Stellar. Our waiter, Luis, was among the top 5 servers I've had in my life. He was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and had the long list of delicious sounding specials memorized. He walked me through the entire menu and recommended the items he thought I might like. And he nailed it. The guy was phenomenal. Clone this man and sell him to other restaurants. Wow. Flawless service from this gentleman. This kind of service is rare. He's the guy you expect at a high end establishment. I can't say enough about him. I promise I'm not related to him, he was just so good I needed to call it out. Post does so many things so well. Steaks! Perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. The Long Bone (as they call it) came out cooked to the ideal color at the requested temp. Spot on. It had a side of 4 sauces to sample, each one unique and bursting with flavor. The steak was so juicy, it didn't need sauce, but you will need to try them anyway. Blue cheese butter? Yes please. Chef Jason knows steaks and it's a fact that cannot be denied. This is his second Post 1917 restaurant. The staff is well trained and it shows. Everyone seems so passionate about their job here. It shows in the food and the experience. The crab cakes, suggested by Luis, we're so good. More crab than cake, which meant you get alot of crab in every bite. Another perfect execution. Moist and flavorful. It's a must try. The wedge salad is a steakhouse staple and Post 1917 nails it. High quality blue cheese and fresh lettuce with bacon and tomato. Simple but awesome. Dessert was a key lime cheesecake. You can see and taste the key lime zest. I could have eaten 2 of these if I hadn't filled up on steak. The menu has steaks and seafood mainly, but they seem to do it all to perfection. I saw other dishes leave the kitchen and they all made me wish I ordered the whole menu. There was a seafood paella which looked like something I must try. The interior is huge and very well decorated. It feels so open and inviting. Overall... an easy 5 star restaurant. You need to go here. Take your friends. Take your family. Take your date. Post 1917 is what Lexington has been missing. Service is a shining star here.

My mom and I like to have a nice meat dinner from time to time. A few years back we stumbled upon…read moreThe Bancroft and it was excellent - so, she came into town this past weekend, wanted to do our fancy big meat dinner, and we knew The Bancroft was the place to go. I made a reservation for a Saturday night at 7:00 for two. Note: I originally went to make the reservation online from their website but the availability was not good, so I called instead. Online it pretty much looked booked between 4:30 and 8:00 - I called and was able to get 7:00 without hesitation. So, make note to call if you don't see the time or range listed online. We were greeted as we entered and checked in with the host/hostess. They were friendly and polite and told us it would just be a few minutes. They brought us back to our table and had us seated shortly there after. Our waitress was great; she told us about the specials, checked in on us, and made sure everything was as expected. We ordered some bevs that were very tasty and had great presentations. Speaking of presentation, let's get on to the food. We ordered the Tomahawk, which if you don't know, is a MASSIVE piece of meat. It's a steak meant to serve two people - in reality, it serves way more than two. The presentation of the tomahawk steak plate alone was beautiful! It had a whole bunch of stuff (see pic). They bring it out for you to see, and then they take it back to the kitchen to slice. We ordered medium rare, and probably should have gone more medium but it was not too rare so it was fine. Now, at The Bancroft, it is an à la carte style meal, meaning you order sides separately and usually a few for the table. We had the carrots (one of the specials), roasted potatoes, and creamed spinach. Forgot to say when you order meat, you also get to pick two sauces - and before anything while you wait they bring you some rolls and butter. The rolls started us off on the right foot knowing the meal was going to be phenomenal. They were warm with some sea salt on top and baked to perfection. The steak was mouth watering, juicy, and flavorful. The sauces added a great touch, and the sides were wonderful. It is safe to say, we did not leave hungry! As mentioned, while tomahawk is said to serve two, we had a lot of leftovers so of course we got those packed up to go. They were very considerate with the packaging, putting items in different boxes that made sense. We unfortunately did not have room for dessert but I'm sure it would've been awesome. The Bancroft is definitely a higher scale restaurant so it is on the pricer side, but it is justified. The food tastes great, presentation is there, and service is excellent. It's a great place for special occasions, celebrations, or just because as long as you know what to expect... but with prices today, I'd rather pay this and have it be worth it than what a crappy meal is costing today!
