Bazille was quite surprising- usually restaurants inside of department stores aren't that exciting, but Bazille turned out to be a really amazing spot to grab some food. While we had dinner here, I would highly recommend this spot for lunch. First and foremost, the staff were so kind and helpful. Our waiter helped us to figure out what food to get, recommended drinks, etc. The food was quite good. We ordered a number of appetizers (bisque, brussel sprouts, calamari, and burrata). I think we were all in agreement that the calamari was the best (perfectly fried, great hint of lemon), though the bisque was also the perfect treat on such a cold day. For my meal I had the salmon, which was a pretty big portion. The couscous and sauce were all really good, I wish I had a few more veggies, but this was all around a great dish. The prime rib dip sandwich was by far the best entree on the table. For dessert we had the crème brûlée and chocolate mousse cup, both really good, but the chocolate mousse cup was really well balanced with decadent chocolate and peppermint. The restaurant is relatively small, but it wasn't super busy and had a lot of great options! Maybe slightly pricy, but what a great place to stop into when you're at the mall. read more

I love being in on the secret of this little hidden gem inside Nordstrom. It's rarely busy and is such a lovely respite from the hell that is shopping for clothing :). Popped in for a small bite and beverage and the hostess was an absolute gem. She asked me where I'd be most comfortable sitting. I opted for the bar and ordered a glass of house red. Note: The drinks are crazy expensive. My wine was $16 for a glass. That's the average cost for most of the drinks on the menu. I had a cup of tomato basil soup which was delish, and chicken tacos which were on the small bites/apps portion of the menu. They were tasty. For dessert, I opted for a brownie sundae. Fresh crispy well-dressed salads. Reasonable kids menu with a wide variety of options. Not crowded at lunch. Comfortable atmosphere but still elegant. Update: I have since returned a few times, and have to rave about the portobello mushroom ravioli and also this ricotta with olive oil and ciabatta appetizer they have. I was promptly greeted by the hostess and seated at a table by myself. The booths were full and by a bank of windows. My server came over right away and took my drink order (water). I needed a few minutes to look over the menu and the specials. I ordered a lime cilantro salad with roasted chicken from the regular menu. I noticed the prices were quite a bit higher than what I saw online, but they were certainly not as high as other places I'd been to recently. My salad arrived within a few minutes with warm chicken. The salad had a good mix of ingredients and a generous portion of chicken. The chicken was moist and the salad was lightly dressed. I love dressing, so I would order extra dressing on the side next time. I noticed some bread being put into a warmer. When the hostess offered to refill my water, I asked for some of the bread which was provided free of charge. The price for the salad was $19.50, so my lunch cost $25 with the tax and tip. We had a wonderful lunch here with my family! Bazille is such a hidden gem inside Nordstrom's! My only complaint is how slow the service moved here. There were only two other parties, and it took forever to good our drinks, food, and dessert. Now the food 100% made up for it. I ordered the Gnocchi With Chicken Meatballs, which was ricotta gnocchi, bolognese sauce, parmesan cheese, and basil. IT was so so so good! My experience at Basil's has been good until recently. We were served with paper plates which was quite unprofessional for a restaurant. Then, as my family and I left, we noticed we were the only people being served with paper plates, while EVERY other table had real glass dishes. I find this quite insulting, and I am coming to a conclusion that this was due to my families RACE. We are Korean and the only POC at the restaurant while being served. I would give this place a 0/5 for service. UNACCEPTABLE and quite RACIST servers. read more

Last night my husband and I went to Bazille (restaurant inside Nordstrom) for dinner and it was great. Like everywhere, they were short staffed, but the staff they had handled everything perfectly well and Sterling (the only server) was excellent at hosting, serving, and bussing tables. And, he also had such a positive attitude about it. Bazille is lucky to have him! We shared a Calamari as an appetizer. And for dinner I got Steak Frites with an Iron Skillet Steak and Parmesan Truffle Fries and my husband got a Caesar Salad with Grilled Iron Skillet Steak. Their Pinot Grigio is really good too, but I forgot to ask the brand. We skipped desert, but I have had their Creme Brulee before and it's really good. My husband and I just had our Valentine's Day dinner at Bazille and LOVED everything! They had a 5-course lobster themed dinner for two. We started with lobster bisque, then a good size Caesar salad, lobster deviled eggs, followed by lobster gnocchi, and flourless chocolate cake for dessert. We were shocked that we got all of this for $70 per couple. Each lobster dish contained large chunks of lobster and could've easily constituted a $70 per person price tag; especially on Valentine's Day. So needless to say, we were greatly surprised and grateful for such an amazing meal at such a fantastic price. We'll definitely be back! read more

On recommendation of reviewers I went for lunch and had a delicious French Dip sandwich. But it was lunch and the service was painfully slow and embarrassing. This was not peak of Christmas season. Persons should work as a team. It was like our server needed help but the other server and hostess didn't care. Took 20 minutes just to pay our bill. We were sitting at a table in the middle of the floor and people were walking around us like we didn't exist. It's a shame. The food is really good. read more

I came in for lunch with my wife. They have changed their name and menu. We used to love to come in when they had the "small plates menu." The restaurant still has several items from their old menu, but it wasn't enough for us. The only reason I am giving them five stars is because our waiter was very nice and helpful. He recommended some of the new items to us and they were delicious. You should definitely try the Crab Bisque and the Lobster Mac. I don't think that we will continue visiting this location. I had the Halibut and chips - the halibut was moist and tasty. My girlfriend had the seared scallops, and they were amazing. We were so pleased we got dessert. White chocolate bread pudding and creme brulee - big enough to share. If you're looking for a quiet, low key meal, in a dining room that's cool but not pretentious, this is the spot. After a long period of transition from Blue Stove (which we loved) through Bazille (before Covid) to the current Bazille with a more confident menu, we are fans once again. While there are a few old favorites still on the menu (eg chicken lime tacos), most of the menu items are new. Gone are the days of the "modern tapas" emphasis but the latest menu tastes great and is reasonably priced compared with newly inflated prices elsewhere. Saturday night, took the baby and wife out for dinner. Was way more into the idea of staying home and Netflix and Takeout (there is no chill, just changing diapers). Wife suggests we go to the Cheesecake Factory so she can get a giant stupid cocktail. I say yes because I want to chill one day eventually. Anyways the cake factory place had over and hour wait. We wandered into Nordstrom's to pass the time. Glanced at the menu, saw that the place was not too busy and changed our plans. They seated us right away, treated us very well and gave us a perfect table with room nearby for the stroller. And they can actually cook a steak! I ordered medium rare and that thing was bleeding. This used to be a fantastic tapas restaurant. Wide selection and freebies (olives & bread). Now it's changed to large plates and sizes have shrank - all in the name of cutting costs. Even the chicken tacos are not longer in sets of 3, but 2. Same small size but an increase in price. We used to come here weekly - with the value prop now - I'm not sure it's worth it anymore. This used to be my favorite place in Burlington (you can see my previous reviews for Blue Stove) as they had some of my favorite dishes and it was somewhere I was able to come in and try a number of things in the same sitting. Not so much any longer, service was good, but the wine I ordered had tasted like it had turned and the server completely didn't understand what I meant. Food was ok but not nearly like Blue Stove. The whole point of this place was small, shareable plates and that bit of it is mostly gone. I had asked to talk to a manager but after waiting almost 15 minutes I just ended up leaving. Disappointed. Very sad to see that they changed the Blue Stove restaurant that was here (and that my wife and I LOVED!) to this (Bazille). Blue Stove was a tapas-style restaurant and had so many delicious options on the menu. They have supposedly tried to keep a few these on the Bazille menu, but the portion sizes have changed (from tapas to "regular" portions -- and regular portion prices!). The good news: the service was still excellent. As was the side order of brussel sprouts, the lemon risotto, and the kale salad -- all excellent! Not so good: the chicken breast with brussel sprouts and grapes -- chicken was overcooked and dried out. Had to request a couple of sides of champagne vinaigrette dressing (delicious) to even out the dried out chicken. I would try the chicken dish again (and hopefully the chicken would not be dry, and I would still probably request a side of the champagne vinaigrette!) Also not so good was the salmon dish -- the salmon was also overcooked/dry, but the dish itself just didn't work for me. I would not try this dish again. Very sad to see the Blue Stove gone. Such a nice variety on that menu and was a lot of fun to order so many tapas-sized portions and share them. Suggestion: it would be nice to see Bazille offer half-sized portions and then maybe some of the charm and the allure of the Blue Stove concept would still live on. As is, the change from Blue Stove to Bazille represents a definite downturn in both quality of dishes and overall dining experience sarisfaction. A very poor decision was made by someone at the corporate level to revamp the Blue Stoves into Bazilles. read more

A convenient place for meals if you shop at the Burlington Mall. Quiet and inviting environment. There was no line for dinner last Friday. The waitresses were extremely nice and friendly. The food is new American and our favorites were Kung Pao Brussel sprouts, deviled egg and seared scallops. Unlike other reviews, the entries were served in a timely manner. What an awesome experience! You do not need to spend a fortune for an upscale dining experience. BTW they offered free crayons for kids. Surprisingly the crayons were top quality crayons. I went to get food last night after shopping for a bit. The restaurant closes at 8:30. I arrived before 8:30. I mean if you stop serving at 8:30 then that's the time. The restaurant was cleaned up and employees were ready to run out the door. I just want some soup. They said they close at 8:30. It wasn't 8:30! I even took out my phone. Don't bother going there. They aren't there to serve food. No wonder it's usually empty! It's not very inviting when the manager is turning people away before the closing time. Pathetic! read more

They Just did the cafe over - space is lighter and much nicer but they upped the prices and now it's a full service restaurant. I liked the other way better - you ordered, paid and they served you. This makes it harder for a quick lunch and meeting friends. The waitress took forever to check on us, took forever to get the bill etc. The menu has some nice new additions but the small plates are way too small. Literally 2 pieces. So you either have to order a large lunch entree, a too small lunch plate or more than one small plate. I'm hoping they fix the menu a bit. The chicken tacos were good but tiny. We also had the deviled eggs, cup of soup and side salad. Had to order more because of small portions and paid a lot more than before. They are charging a lot more for less because they got rid of cafe style. Not quite worth it. And we left hungry. Hopefully they'll realize if we want full lunch at the mall there's The Met, Cheesecake and lots of other pricey options. Most of us don't go to Nordstrom's for the food but to shop with friends and grab a bite in between while we are there. It's new so will try again and hope they adjust. If the portions and service changes I'm willing to stay. If not I'll walk down the mall for more food and larger portions for the same price point. read more

By far one of my most memorable and favorite meals ever! Took my daughter there for Valentines Dinner and had the most delicious Chicken & Waffle entree. Who would have thought a Rosemary & Black Pepper Waffle would still be on my mind after almost 3 weeks! The deviled eggs and the cauliflower apps were AMAZING! The Blue Stove, a former tapas restaurant, has changed its name to Bazille and has modified the menu by adding full plated meals and eliminating most but not all tapas plates. Having visited The Blue Stove on occasions I was at these changes which were made only 2 weeks prior to my last visit. The Blue Stove was unique as being only one of two tapas in the Nordstrom chain (the other Blue Stove also changed to Bazille too.). So here is a summary of what changed and has not. Concerning changes the menu now offers full meals and is now similar to the other Nordstom's Cafes and Market Places. For example, the company's tomato soup is now offered at this location. Another change or possibly an over site is that the complementary bread and oil was not offered on my last visit. Here are the the similarities. First, some of the tapas items remain but as appetizers (smaller portioned and lower priced.). The popular chicken tacos are still offered. Second, the full table service remains and the staff was attentive. Third, surprisingly the dining room was not updated (The room looked a bit worn and is not the one pictured in the photos which may be their other location and submitted by owner) Finally, the restrooms are still located across the store. In summary, I enjoyed both the soup and the 2 tacos which made for a nice light lunch. I would go back but I understand why long time guests may be less than thrilled with the changes. read more

My boyfriend and I come here every time we come to the Burlington mall to shop-we absolutely love it! Such a creative menu. Also love the wine list, learned about a new white blend 'Evolution' from our last visit there. On top of the great food, drinks, & atmosphere, the service is top notch! Our server Bill went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and made some great recommendations on both the food and drinks during our last visit. It is clear how passionate he is about what he does, we had great conversation and he really made the experience 5 star! I went here for lunch on Saturday with a friend, and we were also disappointed that the restaurant is no long Blue Stove. In the past we enjoyed the chance to sample and share several creative dishes vs. each committing to a large portion of one dish. I think we are not the only ones, around noon while the mall was busy but the restaurant was not. That said, the service was excellent. Omar was educated on the wine selection. He asked what I was looking for in a wine. The wine he presented me with was so gooood. Then he complimented me with tacos! Are you serious!? Bazille is a welcome alternative to the usual place. Its location is unique being off the beaten path located inside Nordstroms at the BM. The menu is somewhat small but this is a positive as each item appeared carefully made. The joint is not mental with crowds like most places and it is quiet. It is nicely lit and well decorated. Our waitress Eliana was excellent. GF and I went the app route and got the brussell sprouts with chicken sausage and it was nicely crisped up and hot. We each got chicken tacos which were a great deal at 6 bucks for two tacos (Taco Bell has smaller and lesser quality tacos for the same or more money). I got the maple bacon deviled eggs which were good and the bacon was teenie but it was a hand-selected bit without fat. We just had aquas to drink and the "William" (Bill) was only 29 bucks -not bad for dining out. Mind you this is a teenie-foods place, small portions.
