First let me say, like most, I was ecstatic when we heard of this place opening. My wife and I live merely 5 minutes away at most, walking distance even... so this was right up our alley. Now, as a few have stated on here, this is my general opinion of this place. Generic. Generic food for certain! There isn't one item I've ordered here and fell in love with. In fact, I always get a good laugh when waitresses ask me "how would you like your burger cooked" I want to respond "It really doesn't matter... You're going to burn it anyway" instead, I opt for "medium".... They always come out well done. Like WELL done. Not to mention the prices are um, well - they seem proud of their bar food. Oh NEVER ORDER THE NACHOS. You get 6 chips with melted cheese on there.... No, I'm not kidding. And yes they will charge you $10 for it. Believe me we've made the mistake. I've had luck with my servers so that's a "pro". Beer specials are again, ok. Nothing spectacular at all. All in all - decent place. But I only go there for convenience of location and we usually be sure to eat dinner at home before we go. Food is really not their forte, at all. Good spot to get some beers w/ friends and have a nice stroll home. But I would never go out of my way to come here... Sorry "The Bar" you're just not quite what I was hoping for. Visited the other night on invitation of friends, first time we had been in after driving by several times on other errands/excursions. Very nice design (as others mentioned, an old service station which was repurposed), brightly lit, lots of TVs (although unobtrusive) as well as ticker-tape like news/sports scrolls to keep up on scores etc. I can imagine in warmer weather when they roll up the garage doors it would be a very fun place. Good tap list, and better than average food menu BUT both my wife and I felt the quality of food was lower that some other similar nearby places (think Burg & Barrel or Red Door Grill). At the same time the food menu pricing was a buck or two lower as well. Service seemed a bit rushed as well, but what do expect for 6:30 on a Friday night. Bottom line, a fun attractive place but the food quality from one visit is a step below similar competition. If just meeting for drinks or appetizers it might rank higher. read more

I've been to The Bar three times now (twice for lunch and once for happy hour/dinner) and it has been ok all three times. The last time I was there for lunch with a friend, we felt slightly forgotten by out server. The server was incredibly nice, but walked by us quite a few times without taking our order. Granted, we did ask for extra time to look at the menu so we could finish drinks and watch a game, but it we still wanted food! I will still go back to The Bar! We went in search of a great burger last Sunday and were pleased to come across The Bar in Mission. With ample indoor and outdoor seating we had a nice selection of options! We opted for the cheese curds as an appetizer and they came out hot, crispy and ready for ranch dipping goodness! I chose the Goat Cheese Burger and it was perfection. The ratio of aoili, goat cheese and beef were great, with a bun crisped on the edges. I picked regular fries and again, crispy and hot and more than I could eat in two sittings! read more

Maybe it's the timing of our visits but this place is never overcrowded or busy, but has a steady flow of customers. Each time we have sat out on the patio and the weather is perfect while the access to the tvs are perfect in every direction. We were not going to be hard to please in the dinner department on this particular evening because it was either go to dinner somewhere or make a nice pot of mac n cheese; however, the food really hit the spot. I had the Thai Chili Wrap with fries which was just enough heat and flavor without burning my mouth which is what I like. My wife ordered the chicken tenders which are decently sized and pretty tasty. We also washed it all down with an ice cold beer which really sealed the deal for us. Not only that, but they had a large selection of craft beers on special. We rarely see that especially on a Saturday night. We will be back for sure! read more

The only reason I rated a 2 was the food is pretty good. The low rating is from consistently poor service. The either do not have enough waitresses or they are just not good and rude. We have had to search for our waitress on multiple occasions and they always act put out when we do! They are just not generally friendly and seem like they do not like their job. After the 5th experience like this, we are not going back. The only reason we did was because it's the only bar and grill close to my husband's work. read more

Let me just start by saying I haven't liked this place since the first time I went there. I feel like I'm in someone's basement inside and the patio is cramped (good luck getting decent service out there BTW). We went last Friday and same old thing except the Zika virus was in full swing. The patio was covered in flies. People that got food literally had 3-4 flies on their food at any given moment and it was just another miserable experience. I have drove by this place several times and finally got a chance to go in and check it out. The service was excellent and the servers/bartender were friendly and prompt. The bartender was exceptional and although it was a busy evening he was prompt and on top of things. Food was above average and served a wide variety of choices. VERY LOUD bar and restaurant. They have a great menu and even better happy hour from 2-5pm and reverse happy hour 9- close. They can make any drink. Many TV's about 20. Just went for drinks on the patio on a nice night. The service was fast and there was a nice special of $3.50 Blue Moons on the Saturday night we went. There is a good amount of TVs located around so you can get a good vantage point to a game that on no matter where you sit. read more

We arrived late around 10pm and wanted a bite to eat which was tough to find places open with decent ratings this late at night in the area. We were not disappointed with this choice. We ordered pretzel sticks with queso to start and split the bacon jam burger with sweet potatoes fries as our entree. I come here once in awhile to watch games. Food - 5 Typical bar food with a lot of sandwich, salad, and burger options. The food has tasted well here each time I ate. Service - 4.5 Very quick. They deliver the food fastest than anywhere else. The waitresses are nice, but can get a bit annoying as they constantly check on you to buy more drinks. Atmosphere - 4.5 Typical bar atmosphere. The place has a ton of TVs. Each side table has a small TV and they have large TVs on all 3 sides of the bar. The also have a room for groups and outside seating. This is a pretty cool place if you're looking for a bite to eat or just a place to hang out with friends and have a drink. They have a ton of TVs and some garage doors that open up to a good sized patio giving the entire building an outdoor feel when the weather is nice. The food is always good and service quick. If you're wanting a place to drink, eat bar food and watch sports, this is a great place. We came to eat dinner and watch the NCAA basketball tournament. It was loud, the food was mediocre and the service was terrible. Our waitress, Caitlyn, pretty much ignored us the entire time. I finally had to get up from our table to ask her for our check after she walked by without looking at our table several times. Areas for improvement: the wait staff was friendly and attentive but less than knowledgable about the menu. Also, the menu has a great selection of bar food, but the calamari and fried pickles were expected to be greasy because they're fried but they were so greasy and over the top that there was a small pool of grease in the bowl. We had lunch at the new The Bar. I have been to the sister Bar West a few times. Wanted to try the new location. It has the same menu, so I had a salad (they have great salads). It was good, it could have used a little more TLC....but hey, its a new place. I liked the inside of the bar, was curious what the noise level would be during big games since its a big room. One thing I am interested in are the garage doors, that should be fun to have them open in the Spring and Fall. Most importantly, the beer was cold. This place is super quaint but they have managed to squeeze in everything you need in a bar and grill. They have a decent selection of beer and food. The chipotle ranch salad was served in a large deep bowl and was one of the better chicken salads I have had in a while. The second visit was on a really nice day on the outdoor patio. I love it when a bar has great food, but this is not that place. I ordered the Grilled Chicken dinner, served with seasonal veggie, and mac and cheese. The chicken was dry and bland. The seasonal veggie was a veggie medley that tasted like it had been in the freezer too long. The mac and cheese had no zing. This place is a good place to go and watch sports on their TVs (went in January to watch a big Chiefs game with over 20 family members and we had a great time), and they do have a patio if you like sitting outside. Sometimes if you order food at a bar it's best to stick to the fried stuff, the burgers, and stay away from anything that is remotely healthy. If I go back here, I will stick with the bar food and enjoy the beer and sports. read more
