I love The Barbers! There. I said it. What a great concept, a guy oriented barber shop, kind of like a Man Cave with barber chairs. Three or four big screens all showing sports, decorated with team logos and sometimes NASCAR stuff. If they are busy and you have to wait, they offer you a soda! What is this? Customer service? Who ever heard of such a thing! So, now you're in the barber chair, the cutter talks to you about the cut and then either talks with you or lets you watch the game, whichever you want. After the cut you get a mini-massage of the neck and shoulders to make sure you're nice and relaxed when you leave. Last night I took the Tax Deduction there for his first real haircut and they were awesome with him! He even got a lollipop afterward for being a good boy. I never get one when I go there :-( I highly suggest going to The Barbers, unless you're a girl. read more

I had used the same hair stylist for nearly 10 years. I found out they were moving away and had to find a new stylist posthaste. It was nerve racking searching as you get comfortable with someone who you trust to cut and style your hair. I went to a couple of different places and was displeased. It's hard to find someone who listens to your needs and actually cares about how you want your hair cut and styled. I didn't get that secure feeling at the different salons I had tried prior. Luckily, I came across Katie at the Barbers. Someone I had met at a restaurant referred me to, Katie. When I went in for a consultation I expressed to, Katie, that I was nervous trying a new stylist; as I didn't have great success prior. She understood and listened to my request for my specific needs. She asked me step-by-step how I wanted my hair during my first visit with her. She was also really easygoing and fun to chat with (which made my experience even better), so that was a bonus! I left feeling really good about my experience, and was confident with the way Katie had cut my hair. I have since only been to see, Katie, and will continue to do so in the future. Katie has been cutting my hair for about 3 years now, and I wouldn't trust another stylist with my hair. Far be it from me to say any of the other stylists at the Barbers are not equally as good; but Katie will always be my primary stylist. Thank you, Katie, for doing great work that is top-of-the-line. The Barber shop is nicely designed but I felt a little rushed by Jose my barber. Not only that, he was more interested in speaking to the patron sitting next to me than getting to connect with me, the new walk in.. I definitely wasted $30 plus dollars on a haircut and beard trim. I arrived home and put my baseball cap on in my bathroom mirror, then the realization of how off Jose was with my fade-in was obvious. Upon checking out he rushed through the process without collecting my contact information; he must have known how lousy of a job he did and just wanted me out of there. Took my son here midday on a Sunday. Wish I hadn't. The aesthetic is decidedly geared towards men, to the point almost of female exclusion. The theme of workshop/mancave carries through and this particular location was very clean. That being said, the customer service was less than stellar. We entered the business and had to wait a few minutes before someone told us we needed to sign in. Then waited at least another 10 minutes before another someone told us we could sit down to wait. Then, after being told several times (all my the same person) that someone would be right with us. 17 minutes after walking through the door (when nobody was waiting when we came in), my son finally got his hair cut. I found the wait time and lack of attention unacceptable. Everyone just largely assumed we were someone else's problem. Once my son did get his hair cut, it was done as he expressed he wanted it and in a fairly quick fashion. Others that seemed to be getting "the works" seemed to really enjoy themselves. But, for our part, it was almost 20 minutes of waiting for a $5 hair cut and if you are paying with a credit card, you get to tell the stylist right there how much you are/are not tipping. I will not be coming back here until there is a paradigm shift in customer service/attentiveness. read more

Not only was this the worst cut I ever received, it was the poorest service as well. I came here on a whim, its right next to my house and I wasn't familiar with their service. When I walked in there was a reception table on the left and barbers going to work on the right. I was told by one of the barbers to go ahead and put my name down on a clipboard and I would be called. I only waited about five or ten minutes for my name to be called. The barber who helped me seemed indifferent when I told her how I wanted my hair. I do a classic hair cut with a part on the left hand side - that's it - a #4 - #5 on the sides. You know how you can tell when someone is frustrated, they seem to place things down hard on counters or make their moves deliberately, my barber was doing this, she might have had other things going on but it made for a very poor overall feeling right when I told her how I wanted my cut. Then my barber got a call on the phone at the reception desk, one of the other barbers shouted out to my barber that so-and-so was on the phone and asked if she wanted to talk. She excused herself from me for 15, yes fifteen minutes. What the hell? YOUR WITH A CUSTOMER CALL THEM BACK. My barber finally returned to finish the haircut and near the end of the haircut she asked how it looked. At this time she has spent a total of 10 minutes on my hair and I have been in the seat for 25. SHE DIDN'T BLEND, AT ALL - I told her I wanted the sides blended with the top, where the top meets the sides is awkward without blending with clippers and a comb. She finally pulls some scissors out of her tool box and starts blending, about a minute before my barber is "finished," or really when I was finished with her; the barber seat next to me got a client. That barber next to us offered her own customer Soda and Popcorn. As soon as my barber heard the other offer Soda and Popcorn, then she asked me if I want some? My haircut is "done." Soda and Popcorn at the end of my haircut when you obviously forgot to ask if I wanted anything at the beginning is not going to make up for the bad haircut and rude service. I am sure other barbers would have given me a better experience, unfortunately my first time was so bad I will never return to a "The Barbers" again. read more

Easy enough these days to pick up the phone and make an appointment (which I would recommend). It's not that they're crazy busy or anything, but you never know. I called in the morning and booked an appointment for later the same day. When we got there they sat me down right away (while the walk-ins sat waiting still). A few others with appointments rolled in shortly after (walk-ins still sat waiting). One of the walk-ins stormed off. I felt bad, but dude, seriously... just make the appointment next time. I have been getting my hair cut by Jessica (manager of this Barbers) for 2-3 years now, and can't imagine what I'll do if one day I call and she's no longer there. She's switched up the styles for me on multiple occasions and has never failed. Very talented, and I especially appreciate her attention to detail to eliminate stray hairs. She takes the time to give your cut symmetry and does a flawless neck line - you leave looking sharp and feeling confident. There's nothing worse than a bad haircut. It didn't take long before I found my next Barber. Debi is professional, responsive, friendly and attentive. After my first time with Debi cutting my hair, I decided to keep calling her my Barber going forward. I have always liked the haircut I get, as well as Debi's skilled feedback and input. I enjoy being able to ask her opinions on my hair and beard. Wether it is something a little (or a lot) different, her experience shows every time she takes my idea and knows how to make it happen on my head. It always ends up better than I hoped or expected. The ability to call in on a day off, be made aware of Debi's schedule and get my name on the list makes things smooth and effortless. I took my son in for a haircut they only had three people in there and they told me I could not come in he's only four years old that was a little harsh. When I first came in I told them how I wanted his haircut and the girl was quite rude and she rolled her eyes at me and as I was looking through the window I kept noticing she was cutting his hair with scissors and I specifically said I wanted it buzzed in the back to like a six or seven they then let me in so I could let her know that it needed to be buzzed like on a six or seven then she tells me she doesn't have a six or seven and she was very rude the whole time not only to me but also to my son there was no personality nothing she was just wanted to be mean and rude. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would give her about a 7 considering she didn't use a number 7 to make it look more blended she didn't become nice till he was done with his haircut I definitely will not go back again they then also told me as they were cutting his hair or you can come in now and other people were still coming in and there was more people coming in than there was when I first came in go figure. Was told "We don't serve women here". I stated that I have seen several women getting haircuts here. I've been seeing Jessica for a couple of years now. I literally will not get my hair cut anywhere else. I moved across town but make the trek for her. Their environment is always very clean and presentable. It always helps them if you call ahead for scheduling as Jess is always busy with clients. It's rare that I have to wait more than 5 minutes if I call ahead but if I don't, I might have to sit through a few cuts and that's ok if my schedule permits. Their entire crew is very friendly and knows me by name and I really appreciate that as a customer and would and have recommended their business and Jessica specifically to a few of my friends! In the past I've often walked away from a hair cut not quite satisfied, but she cut my hair exactly how I asked her to and I'm very happy with the way it turned out. I asked for a fade and showed the lady a picture of what I was looking for, and then she just buzzed my sides and back with a #2. On the top she cut it ok.
