Resplendent with beautiful murals on the walls, live bands almost every week, rad karaoke on Wednesdays for hams like me, and a Tofu Banh-Mi that regularly blows the socks clean off of my feet: The Bark is easily one of my favorite restaurants in Tallahassee. I feel so spoiled to have such a delicious vegan-friendly restaurant near campus that I can walk to whenever my stomach rumbles. Whenever my friends want to meet for lunch, we always go to The Bark and are never disappointed. The specials change daily and there's always something delicious and interesting to try--- I do believe that once I cried with joy when eating their entirely vegan waffles topped with whipped cream, chocolate chips, and strawberries. I think those waffles made my skeptical friend a believer. And not only is the food out of this world, but The Bark seeks to be a place that everyone in the community can feel welcome and safe. The people who work there are incredibly kind and nothing short of lovely, and the night-time events range from dance nights, to karaoke jam sessions, to table-top gaming, to creative and fun punk shows, and I know that they are planning a music night to collect coats and warm clothes for people who need them. I truly appreciate having The Bark in my city and I cannot recommend it enough to anyone who likes good food and a good atmosphere. Sometimes though it took him a while to attend to our needs but that really wasn't his fault. That waiter was A+. I think the restaurant needs another waiter to spread the workload a bit. My wife ordered a Bees Knees drink and it was delicious, almost like a dessert. I drank my usual beer. We ordered Okra and Gorgonzola chips which were quite interesting. For our entrees, my wife ordered the flounder and I ordered redfish. Both dishes were beautiful in presentation but even mores in taste. The flounder came with a sauce that had lemon in it and it was 100% delicious, as was the flounder. My redfish came sitting in the middle of a generous serving of fabulous, delicious creamy grits. After my first bite of that fish and those grits, I knew I had hit a jackpot and thanked my good fortune in ordering it. And for a dessert we choose a shared flourless chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream. visually it was just beautiful and the richness of chocolate and flavor was absolutely out of this world.
