It's our 2nd time back since they opened and I can't recommend this location. If you're looking for food some place to sit down grab a bite to eat this isn't your place. However if you're looking for some place to hang out and grab something small like finger food this might be up your alley. My soft drink was flat and overfilled with vice my wife got a coffee mix drink and there was literally nothing but cream no alcohol in the drink. The house recommended Mac and cheese was OK nothing worth sharing over very bland for being the signature dish. The waffle fries were pretty good but I don't think you can mess up waffle fries bacon and cheese. We had to ask for condiments which is just odd when you're getting finger food. Great service and food! my husband and I both had buffalo chicken. He had the sandwich, I had modified chicken wings. I asked our server, Abby if the wings were breaded. She said yes and suggested a chicken breast cut up. It was the most tender chicken I have ever had! It was delicious! read more

Stopped in at the barn a few days ago because it's one of the only places open in Fenton, and wow.. I wish I never stepped foot outside of my house. The service was just horrendous, there's no other word to describe it. Our server was short, rude, and checked on us probably once in our TWO HOURS OF WAITING FOR FOOD. The manager was the rudest of all. Never will be coming back, and I advise you not to either. But If you want to have the worst service of your life, definitely come here. The Barn used to have decent food, but they have really gone downhill recently. It's hard to screw up no frills, pub grub, but somehow they have succeeded. I know restaurants have been struggling recently, but the past several times we have ordered takeout, at least one entree is missing. Of the food we do get, it's almost inedible. read more

Loved the atmosphere. They let our group of kids skate a bit longer then planned because there wasn't another group until later. I do think the curling area should be regulated a bit better. We had kids playing and staff kicked them off for a group of adults. If we had been with them I don't know if this would have happened. Stopped in for lunch with my fiance's parents who were visiting from Ohio, and I'm glad we did. We started with their Barn Dip, which is like an extra thick chip dip made with a base of cream cheese and cottage cheese and lots of dill, then served with pita and buttered crackers. Simple but super addictive and tastes great on everything. I got the fresh coastal salad which was huge and loaded with lots of toppings. Our table also tried the veggie flatbread pizza (I would call this a fluffy flatbread by my standards) and the mushroom and swiss burger which got a good review. Decent bar food. Convenient location (right off the freeway). Service was friendly but our server didn't know much about the menu or ingredients in menu items. It seems like they have a hard time keeping staff and have high turnover, hence the lack of menu knowledge. They have a cool looking outdoor volleyball area, although I haven't been there during times it's in use. Just picked up a carry out just after Noon Jan 11, 2019. First, the bartender took forever to help me, to busy talking on phone and messing with register to look like she was busy. Then she had someone else get my order ready. Didn't ask if I needed napkins or anything. Get home and of course no napkins and no California Ranch dip that is supposed to come with the Bacon Jack Fries. The burger had a slight taste like it was cooked with lighter fluid or some kind of fuel chemical. I could understand if they were busy, they were no. One guy at bar and maybe 3 tables. This is third time I have had issues with the service at The Barn. When it first opened food was good and service was, but it has gone down hill since. Found this place on accident but it was a great place to watch sports. They have t.v.'s all around the bar and the restaurant. There are plenty of low and high tables throughout the place. Everything is wheelchair accessible, nice big bathrooms as well. I got the mama's noodles (mac & cheese) yesterday and just thought it was ok. However we also split the nachos and they were great. I've had the salads (they are really big) before and was very happy with that choice. Monday's is $1 domestic beer bottles night and this kept my husband happy :-) They are not cheap by any means, kind of more on the expensive side. I had a very good waitress both times I went although I had read other yelpers had issues with waitstaff; we didn't have that problem. Food came up really fast; I think we were eating within twenty minutes. read more

The food and service is always good here. More than half the staff weren't wearing masks though, mostly the young servers. I know this isn't a concern for everyone, but if it is for you then you probably want to hold off until this passes. My rating only reflects this aspect, otherwise it would be higher. I was unsure of what to expect when I first went here. I'd heard mixed reviews (although in all fairness it was from when they first opened). I'm happy to report that the food was great! I've had a burger both times I went, and everything about it was delicious (roll, vegetables, burger). The fries were also fantastic. One of my dining companions substituted steamed veggies and they looked great as well. I'd recommend their burgers and will surely eat their again! read more

The aesthetic of the place is kind of weird. Seems like strange place for a surf shack pole barn. Amazing transformation from the concrete windowless box that it used to be, don't get me wrong, but the layout seems like a lot of wasted space. My food was pretty good, like I'd order it again for sure, a veggie pizza with pesto, I did have to ask 3 times for an iced tea and two more for a refill. It was frustrating mostly because it was just as hot, if not hotter inside than it was outside. The burrito bar area was creating a lot of steam that wasn't really helping the temperature. Climate control left something to be desired. Fun atmosphere though. Would probably go back on a day that wasn't 95 degrees. read more

Very casual looking place inside and out and you can see why it's called The Barn as it kind of resembles one from the appearance outside. We were seated and waited on promptly. They have TV's and a small fish tank which was fun to look at. Drinks were reasonable and they had a broad selection to choose from. We didn't try any food on this visit. I've been to The Barn a number of times now and have never been disappointed. Their burgers are the best in the area, they have a good selection of beers, even if they don't always have a written beer list, and the service is always better than average and seems to be getting better with time. A couple of visits ago my wife ordered a burger with bacon which when it came to the table was missing the bacon. She mentioned this to our server just so she wasn't charged for it, and you would have thought they served her a burger with broken glass. That is to say not only was it handled, the server, asst manager and manager all made sure it was right and offered a free dessert. I ordered the taco platter (3) for $7.99. They charge extra for any meat so I picked beef. ($1) The meat was under seasoned and greasy. The rice they served as a side was instant with no seasoning.
