This is my favorite barre studio in the DFW area. The instructors challenge you and it's a blast. I highly recommend.

There are 3 sinks on the wall on the outside wall which is away from the open area/locker area. I always use the sink which is to the far left of the 3 sinks in the left corner. The sink has been leaking for several months at the base of the faucet and the leak seems to be getting worse. It would be nice to get it repaired. Thanks!

The class was challenging, fun, and energizing, and Stacey was an excellent instructor. After class, Rachel gave us a tour of the facility and was incredibly welcoming and friendly, just like the rest of the staff. The gym itself is beautiful, modern, and exceptionally clean. I especially loved the white and tan interior design--it creates a bright, upscale atmosphere. The women's locker room is impressive, featuring lockers for personal belongings, a sauna, and a cold plunge. There are also convenient water refill stations throughout the gym. One of the most unique features is the slide, which definitely adds some personality and fun to the space! There's also an outdoor workout area in the corner for anyone who prefers exercising outside. Overall, Recess offers a great combination of high-quality fitness classes, excellent amenities, and a welcoming community. I would definitely recommend checking it out.

My friend lives in an apartment in the village and she has access to this gym, so while I was…read morestaying with her, we decided to come and work out together. The area where the gym is located is extremely nice, the commons where all of the shared village grounds are (including restaurants and coffee shops, along with this gym) is extremely upscale. My friend told me that in the past, it cost five dollars to bring a guest to this gym, but when we came on a Sunday morning, they told us it was actually $20. We went ahead and went for it since it was just one day, but in the future, just be aware of that. The gym itself is very nice, the facilities are very clean, especially in the locker rooms, and there was a plethora of equipment. Walking in there is a check in desk, and just to the left there is a big staircase next to the indoor space housing a basketball court. If you go up the stairs, there are a lot of machines up there along with free weight /free space areas with kettle bells and yoga mats etc. There's also a small outdoor area with some machines, including a battle rope and a few others. If instead of going up those stairs on entering you keep going towards the back, the locker rooms will be on your right, and there's some additional equipment under the staircase adjacent to the basketball court. Around the corner, there is also a lot more freeway equipment, including a Smith machine (my personal favorite) and free bars for squatting/benching as well as Dumbbells and things of that nature. I noticed also an outdoor area with like maybe a parkour area? I wasn't sure exactly what it was but looked like a grown up jungle gym. And just behind that, there was a large (and busy!) tennis court. On the other side of the gym itself, there were also some large fields that looked like maybe they're for soccer or some other field sport? I didn't see any soccer goals though. There's also a pretty long sidewalk surrounding area that would be nice to walk around, but just be mindful it's not a very shaded area and in the summer in Texas it's pretty hot so I would be careful about that. If you're living in the village, the location of the gym is really great because it's so close by. My friend and I were running late so we actually did drive (took 1-2 min from her apt) and parked in the parking garage underneath the village area; on the Sunday morning that we came it was just free to park there and we didn't even have to take a ticket, the bars were just up when we came in when we left. However, I imagine that if it wasn't a weekend, you may have to get a ticket and pay or validate. Last thing to note: even though it was a Sunday morning, there was a pretty decent number of people in that gym. I never had to wait for anyone to use any equipment or any machines, but I did see some people talking to each other about that. My friend told me that it was basically "empty as far as she was concerned," compared to how it is during the week when apparently it's much busier and you do sometimes have to wait for equipment. Overall, this place is really nice, and given im thinking about possibly moving to Dallas in a few years i am quite strongly considering this area because of how nice it is, and because of the presence of this gym! I wish they hadn't increased the price for guests (or had a fee at all), but for those living here and just using the facilities complementarily, this is a really nice place.

I was referred to Andy Ferguson, and he has been laser focused on getting me to my goals. He's knowledgeable and precise in his approach, and has a wholistic perspective that has been very effective. Trophy is also a very good gym, this location is just the right size, is clean, and has good equipment. The staff are friendly and professional - Greyson, john, Gina, and the entire staff is friendly and warm. When I need help they are responsive. I've been to many gyms/trainers, from Los Angeles Equinox, to San Antonio Golds Gym, and Houston 24 hour fitness, but Trophy has really honed in on what makes a gym great and has fair pricing. Plus, parking is convenient and free.

From day 1 every single person on staff was welcoming and personable. One thing that was abnormal about this gym was the community within the gym. I moved to Dallas knowing no one and found this to be a very social gym. Majority of my friends came from meeting other members and trainers. The classes are motivating, the free recovery sessions are a game changer, the trainers are SUPER knowledgeable, and the amenities of a hot tub, sauna, and steam room are the cherry on top. If you are looking for a gym, look no further. Joining Trophy way the best decision I made next to moving to Dallas.

So in my quest to get to know more about Crossfit I went by mistake to Big Bricks, just realizing after walking to mega fit, ultra upbeat Glen that he was a personal trainer and not a Crossfir coach. Even with the initial confusion, he accepted my companion and myself for an hour of workout at his gym, located in the same building as the New School of Architecture. Glen has an extensive background in posture improvement and workouts that fit your medical needs. He tailors the workout for you and personal training sessions are around $40/hour/person if you are in a party of 2. I like the personal approach and the possibilities of how can you shape your body. As per the gym, is like one of those 'boutique hotels': petite but with everything, in a vintage building and with excellent views to the Coronado bridge and central library dime.

Ok so I am biased because I have worked out with Glenn around 3 1/2 years and we're good…read morefriends...but when we started working out, we didn't know each other and at the end of the day, he has gotten me into the best shape of my life. Do you want somene who will yell and belittle you into training hard, only to go home and wish and pray that somehow a bus "accidentally" hit your personal trainer? Do you want a trainer that calls you all the time to see what you are eating like a prison guard constantly searching you for contraband? Do you want to work out someone who cancels without notice, improperly bills you or says you are going to have 1-on-1 sessions only to invite several d-bags they met at Intervention to join in? Well, if you answered "Yes" to any of these questions, don't call Big Bricks. Glenn is on time, treats you like an adult, doesnt yell and scream, and if you want to work out in a class - he'll give you a class, but if you want a solo session (and he has the time available), you will get a solo session. Again, no trainer, and I mean nooooooo trainer will get you to be in shape if you don't want to, so don't expect just to workout an hour a week and watch the pounds melt off. But what Glenn does is he gives you the tools to work out correctly, talks to you about what you should be doing on your own (food/workouts) and doesn't blow smoke up your ass about imaginary results just to keep you coming back for more. As I said, I've known Glenn and have worked out with him since 2008 and it wasn't until mid last year when I finally decided to do workouts outside my comfort zone (comfort zone = treadmill for 45 min and weights; not comfort zone = workouts that made me sweat like a whore in church) that I saw amazing results and hopefully will continue to.
