I am in and out of Dallas a lot and like to try out different barre studios. The Barre Code HP is not too far from my in-laws' neighborhood, so I booked a class for Friday morning. I was so eager to go that I woke up early and got ready thinking it was at 8:30, but woops -checked my calendar on the way out and saw it was 9:30. Luckily for me, I had selected Kiersten's class, the owner! I have been to Barre Code in Omaha and Austin previously, and have been impressed with how good of a workout I get in a 50 minute class. This studio was clean and inviting. Kiersten greeted me and we chatted about barre. I mentioned my lower back issues. With yelp check-in, I got a free friendly towel which helped me manage my dripping...glow (women glow, not sweat!) during class. The studio had two mirrored walls and Kiersten pointed out this coveted corner spot with mirrors on both sides so I could watch my posture during class. The prop we used was the resistance band with handles (I am sure there is a technical term). I never imagined using this for an entire workout, but we did and we used it well! We used it during legs, arms, and core work which was really fun. I learned a really cool way to do crunches using it, and I have one at home to try it! The class had really great music, and Kiersten's energy kept me motivated. She also came by to check on my back during class, which I really appreciated given how fast-paced the class can be. I felt very energized after the class and will definitely come back when I get back to Dallas! Great workouts with attentive, highly trained instructors, and clean, new equipment! I got the 2 week unlimited class pass available to new members, and so far have taken the full body conditioning and barre code classes. The place is on the 3rd floor of the plaza with the entrance inside a hallway, with an area for lockers and one studio. Since classes are small, we received lots of individual attention and the instructor kept the class energized with motivational tidbits, while changing exercises every so often to target different muscle groups. We mostly used free weights and the band throughout class. Would highly recommend the Barre Code for an incredible strength training workout. read more

I came here with a Groupon special because I saw great ratings. However, I really had an unsatisfactory experience. Personally, I felt like I was using the equipment wrong, and I felt confused why the lady wasn't coming over to correct me. In fact, the woman in charge was not very attentive, and everyone else who also looked new also seemed to feel out of place. Afterwards, I didn't feel sore, and I felt like I didn't get a workout. My groupon was for three days, but after this experience, I just decided to not come back and let my coupon expire. read more

I love the location, owner, teachers, energy, and variety of this place! I live walking distance away which make morning classes doable for me. I am currently signed up for the Break a Sweat challenge which challenges you to go to 18 classes in 21 days (21 is for how long it takes to make a new habit)! They even have a prize, but really, accomplishing the challenge and getting my self into good shape and good habits are what I am going for. I love when studios do these challenges to make working out more fun and motivating. I am not going to lie, these classes are tough! But I like that! There is no judgement if you need to modify some of the movements like I have done. It is a very positive and uplifting environment where you are pushed to your limits, but it is up to you how much you want to push yourself. Final thought, these classes are not as routine as some of the other barre studios which makes the time go by much faster. Love the element of surprise! read more

I went to class this morning at The Barre Code for the first time and absolutely LOVED it!! I've been to barre classes before and they aren't typically my thing so I was hesitant that this would be any different. Well, it was! The Barre Code is how every barre class should be and what places like Pure Barre should thrive to become. The studio is absolutely beautiful and the branding is done adorably. I love The Barre Code - HP.. Simply put, this is the first time in a long time that I have actually wanted to go and work out. After my first few classes, the excuses that would normally start popping up as to why I don't need to go back just never came around. I don't feel the pressure to be perfect at every thing we do in class. However I do feel motivated to push myself further and further each time. Do I look silly doing about 50% of the things in the class, oh HECK yes. But I leave each class feeling stronger and more toned from head to toe. And slowly less silly :) read more

I found this studio through a Groupon deal. I had just moved to the area and was looking for a new place to work out. After the finishing up the 3 classes given to me in my deal I knew I had to continue. I am now half way through my first unlimited month and I love the flexibility of being able to attend any of the classes. All the instructors are all really nice and great at offering correction during class that doesn't make you feel uncomfortable. The sound system and lighting really sets the mood for class. I have never done a work out where when we get to the end I am surprised that the time has flown by that quickly. I feel a real change in my body and know that I am getting stronger. I would highly recommend this to anyone who really wants to maximize their work out. I accomplish way more in 50 minutes in this class than I ever could on my own. read more

I've been a member since 2014. Prior to becoming a member, I tried barre classes at different gyms but stayed with The Barre Code and never left since. I always feel welcome and the instructors are awesome. During classes, I feel like it's personalized even on days when the classes are full. Plus, you don't know what to expect in a class and the routine varies all the time - therefore, there's no muscle memory. I discovered this studio on ClassPass and loved it so much that I ended up getting an unlimited membership! All of the instructors here are wonderful, and they are great about giving you tips for proper form and encouraging you to push yourself. The music is always upbeat and fun, and the studio floor is a soft foam mat (which totally beats the hard uncomfortable wood and carpet at other studios in my opinion!) The regular Barre Code class is a wonderful, high energy/low impact barre workout. You will definitely see results if you go regularly, and you'll have fun doing it! They incorporate a variety of tools (weights, bands, balls, etc.) and always have a well thought out class plan that is different every time. It's non-intimidating but challenging and great for classgoers of all levels. TBC, HIIT, and Brawl are great for when you want to kick it up a notch and add some cardio to your routine. Be sure to bring a towel, because you will SWEAT! These classes will whip you into shape. Love love love that this studio offers more than your regular run of the mill barre class. Having taken classes at a handful of different Barre Code studios, I can honestly say I'd rank The Barre Code Dallas - Highland Park at the top of the list. Kiersten's energy and enthusiasm is highly contagious which pushes you to work that much harder! With the variety of classes offered, you can tailor your schedule to be more cardio focused, more toning focused or a nice mix of both which is a huge plus for me. On top of the fun, effective workouts, the studio itself cute, clean and well kept. Instructors have students wipe down their equipment and area immediately after class, so you never have to wonder if that is being done! I'm trying this place out because I've always wanted to do these type of classes, I have coworkers and friends who rave about Barre & pilates. I really loved the class, you don't have to bring anything with you, they provide you with the weights & the balance disc thingy etc. You just need grippy socks, water & towel! So easy. It seems like a very good value for the money. Only problem is the location, of course they cannot help it, but Lovers Lane is just a nightmare, and it is kind of hard to navigate around there with not many lights & 2 lane streets... I think this is just my personal pet peeve LOL, the parking garage was a little tricky I kept going around in circles trying to find the exit LOL, and the studio is on the third floor. Don't know why I thought it was on the second so I got a little lost finding it, I promise I'm not stupid LOL, I think if you just allow yourself extra time to get to the class then you will be fine, I'm still giving them all the stars:-))) read more

I have taken barre/Pilates classes all over Dallas and so far, this studio is my favorite. Not only are the prices reasonable, but I was able to see and feel results just after a couple classes. I've tried the Barre and Interval classes and each one carry a unique method of pushing your body to its limits. Results are felt within a day and if consistent to 3-4 times a week, results are definite visible. Kiersten has a great talent for strategizing an effective class and is sure to correct you - kindly and privately - to assure your performing appropriately and safely. Not so pleasant experience for my first time. The teacher was so rude, could care less that I was there and I had to keep asking questions because she never showed me around. Absolutely love this place! I moved to Dallas in June and was using ClassPass when I stumbled upon Barrecode Highland Park. I fell in love after the first class. Kiersten is an amazing owner. She made me feel very welcomed my first day. As I looked around the room I realized there was a close sense of community here yet I didn't feel like an outsider. Then the workout started and I was doing creative moves to great music and feeling the burn! The workouts are great...definitely a challenge but they go quickly and I always feel amazing afterwards. Soon after, I dropped ClassPass and signed up for the year at BarreCode. They workouts are always different and creative. It never gets old. The whole Barrecode team is awesome. I've been going to the Barre Code in Highland Park for a little over a year now and I'm still absolutely in LOVE with it! I'm one of those that gets bored easily with my workouts so the fact that the classes change every week and there are 5 different types of classes they offer definitely keeps it interesting and keeps me coming back. I feel stronger than I ever have in my life, and we don't ignore any parts of the body in these classes so they truly are a FULL body workout. I decided to try barre code after losing some weight and wanting a way to tone before my wedding next year. I started with a groupon and joined once my three classes were used up. I immediately started to notice some toning and was excited to go to classes. I like that there is a variety to choose from so I'm never bored. I've done different barre classese in studio and onlin and these are my favorite because they also include some cardio. It's really challenging but somehow I can always manage to get up multiple times a week for the 6 am classes (which trust me, has always been a challenge for me). If you're a barre3 fanatic like I am, I strongly suggest taking the HITT and TBC (brawl) classes as these ensure high impact cardio throughout. The BarreCode and BarreRestore classes may leave you asking for more. As a newcomer to Dallas, I tried a few exercise studios before falling in love with The Barre Code Highland Park. It is by far the best I've ever been to. There are a variety of classes which can give you the exact exercise you want, whether that's cardio, strength training, muscle toning or a combination. Each instructor has their own flair and strengths, so I highly recommend trying them all if you can. The absolute best part about The Barre Code Highland Park is the sense of community. The owner, Kiersten, is the sweetest and most motivating instructor, and all of her team follows suit to make you feel like part of a barre family. Never stayed in Dallas before looking for a good work out & wow did I find the right place! I'm a huge fan of EFFECTIVE work out classes & the Barre Code has won me over. When I took a barre class I thought I wasn't going to be as challenged since I've done pure barre over a dozen times & feel comfortable. My hips, thighs, abs & arms were burning!!!!! I was thinking to myself I'll get a break when I take an interval class the next day. Nope no break at all. The Interval class had me exhausted. I was pushed beyond my comfort zone & most definetly see results after 2 classes. My abs are flatter & w/more noticeable definition. I'm so glad I found this place & I'm definetly gonna sign up when I get back home. They have a variety of classes so you're not going to experience anything routine. Routine is a waste of time & money. Kiersten is an outstanding teacher. She works out w/you & exudes so much powerful energy & encouragement. TBC Highland Park is one of the best barre studios that I have been a member of! The instructors are amazing and will push you to go as hard as you can in that 50 min class. Your body will be sore from every class because you are always working a new muscle/part of the body. This place is GREAT! Definitely beats out other barre studios I've tried. Their classes are definitely intense and I always look forward to waking up and attending the 6am classes knowing I am about to get an intense workout in.
