This was our first stop when arriving at Hershey Lodge. We were starving. We got in immediately. Their menu is newspaper style and very unique. I ordered the Mexican street corn appetizer and the smash mouth burger. The corn was good. It had pulled pork on top the cheesy corn. The burger was pretty good with the jalepenos and sauce. It was huge. Hubby had the cheesesteak and onion rings and our little one ordered the grilled cheese. All in all, the food was good. I feel it's overpriced though. It's not a huge restaurant. I've left a review here years ago, but what wonderful place. My wife's first time, and my like 90th. A family favorite. I don't think I've ever eaten anything but chicken fingers here and that's what I had. Tradition ya know. This is a burger place/ child friendly/ sports bar vibe. We came twice for dinner because my boyfriend loves burgers in general. The first burger I had was the pulled pork burger - good burger, but hated the seasoning on the bun. Second time I ordered a custom burger which came with a normal bun - much better. Decor/service: it is a small place but they generally move people through pretty quick. They have plenty of TV space to watch whatever game you need to. Usually bears hockey games as this is their spot. Food: the food is solid bar food. They have plenty of options that are generally cooked well. Nothing is spectacular however. My expectation were somewhat low given this is basically a sports bar and sits inside a hotel but in the end, we were pleasantly surprised by how decent the food was. We actually ended up eating here twice during our stay at the Hershey Lodge. The place isn't overly big, but fortunately the hotel wasn't overly crowded during our stay so we never had to wait for a seat. Plenty of TV's all around the place tuned to different sporting events. The floor was made to look like a hockey rink which my kids got a kick out of. On both visits, my wife, who is gluten-free, ordered up the Pittsburgh Salad, which came with steak and fried on top of her salad. She really enjoyed it along with the ranch dressing. I had both the Cocoa Chicken and the Chicken Quesadilla. the Cocoa Chicken was very moist and tender and came with a side of Yukon potatoes and steamed broccoli. The quesadilla was pretty good, but I preferred the Cocoa Chicken dinner. My two boys went with grilled cheese and a hamburger with fries. They were happy! And my one son enjoyed ordering a Reese Peanut Butter milkshake. I managed to get a few sips and it was tasty! The desserts aren't overly big and we had both the caramel cheesecake and the truffle cake. Again, they were good but not necessarily something I would crave. Not a bad place to go to if you are looking for something casual, relatively quick, and don't mind being surrounded by sports. It is a good place to bring kids to. read more

*****3.5 stars***** Located inside Hershey Lodge, it feels like you are eating on a hockey rink at the Bears' Den. Although the food is your average bar food, the service is above average. Our waiter was attentive throughout our meal, making sure we were well taken care of. We decided on sharing a few appetizers rather than ordering entrees. The buffalo wings were huge, cooked well, and had the buffalo sauce tossed evenly throughout each piece. The nachos with pulled pork (an extra $3) was good, but nothing special. The amount of pulled pork was generous. Most of the toppings were in the middle of the dish, making lots of tortilla chips left to eat by themselves. I liked having the salsa and sour cream as sides. The appetizer onion rings were plentiful. I thought we would just get a small plate of onion rings, but out comes a large platter of them so be prepared if you order them. They were battered nicely and had a good crunch to them. Kids have quite a few options to choose from, which is nice. After paying for your meal, you get a handful of Hershey kisses. With more than 20 TVs playing all kinds of sports, the Bears' Den would be a great place to go for game day. There's also a mini arcade towards the entrance/exit of the restaurant. The place was decently crowded, waiters were very friendly, orders came so prompt, above all, drinks were good and food was delicious. I wish they had a few more option for vegetarians, nonetheless I really enjoyed their veggie burger. The lighting in the seating room is a bit dim, but it's bright enough. The tables are solid and cold, making it a comfortable seat. Food/drink review = Carmel martini was to sweet and to rich. This was our first visit to The Bears Den. What a nice surprise! We thought this was going to be your basic sports bar fare. The atmosphere was super bright and clean, no clutter! The staff was so friendly, especially our waitstaff, Ashlyn! The food was really great. Outstanding Cheeseburgers (and they were the kids meal!) The cheesesteak was just like a true philly, onion rings (I know what could be bad about onion rings - but these were on point, crisp, not greasy and full of perfect flavor) The chicken on the caesar salad was perfectly grilled and sliced. And the staff! Everything came out in perfect time. perfect temp and anything we asked for was brought quickly by Ashlyn. The food runners were friendly and efficient! Fun themed restaurant in the Hershey Lodge that celebrates all things hockey, especially the Hershey Bears team. Walking through to the main dining room feels like going through the clubhouse, with lots of trophies, framed articles and photos in walled cases. Once you reach the main dining room, you'll notice tons of huge TVs to watch sports, and all the tables appear to be on an ice rink. It's a cool effect! The food is all delicious, and the service was beyond friendly (not unexpected for Hershey) and FAST! One star for the environment and one star for great service. Gyro Greek Salad unfortunately was not as good as it looked. Tomatoes were not fresh, the "tzatziki sauce" was just plain yogurt and the lamb was extra crispy. I've eaten here on previously trips, and thought it was just ok (good enough for a quick lunch at a conference). This time, with my family, I was disappointed. The meal took a really long time to come (far too long). Meat quality of burger was poor: dry, bland, hard to chew. Pizza was one of the worst we've ever had: doggy and extremely greasy. Chocolate Martinis for days...thats all I have to say. My mom and I were on the hunt for a quality chocolate martini and I am beyond pleased that we ended up here. My mom got the Classic Chocolate and I got the Chocolate Buzz. They were both really good but I preferred mine. The Classic is a bit stronger than the Buzz. They have the same amount of booze, just the Buzz is frozen. Both drinks came with a hidden kiss in them, I found that very cute. You also get to keep the glass martini glass. It's a very nice glass and a wonderful souvenir. I was almost tempted to drink four of them so I would have a set! I didn't have any of their food. They did give me popcorn though! The drinks were $13.00 a piece but you do get to keep the glass, so I say it is well worth it. One last thing, the more I sipped the more I started to worry about the transport of a dirty glass. I started to kind of panic a little as my tipsy mind thought about how silly I was going to look in the bathroom, scrubbing chocolate syrup out of a martini glass. Good News! Not allergy friendly, rude server, terrible food. Specifically stopped to this restaurant because of the Hockey theme. I am f severely allergic to shell . I carry an epi pen with me at all times. I asked the server if there was a designated seafood only fryer. I wanted to order fries but, noticed there was fried shrimp on the menu. I wanted to prevent cross contamination because even having my fries cooked in the same fryer will send me into anaphylactic shock. The server proceeds to tell me how to should have asked her the question and that i should not be eating any kind of seafood. Well as you can imagine this discussion didn't go well. It all continued to get worse from there. I'm guessing the server (Kimberly Z) was annoyed by my question. We arrived when they opened at noon so this was the beginning of her shift. She continued to be rude, telling me friend she better move her glass unless she wanted her meal in her lap. Can you imagine? I've been a severe I would never say such a thing. Huge sports bar. We came in to watch NFL on a Sunday afternoon, and there was plenty of seating and plenty of TVs all around. Booths (only about eight of them) had a TV each, so you could request any game you want. Cleaner and more modern than most sports bars---not a dive. Menu is huge: burgers, salads, sandwiches, and the usual Hershey milkshakes and martinis. Good service. I'm at a loss as to why this place has three stars. So perplexed by the disparity between lunch and breakfast here. Lunch was wonderful. Very tasty and reasonably priced. We got a lot of bang for our buck for a family of five. I'll start off saying the things I like about the Bear's Den. The decor is very cool with a lot of Hershey Bears memorabilia, including very cool paintings all over the walls by a local artist. The guy even hides a Sasquatch in every painting he does, which is pretty neat. There are plenty of TVs, so all the games are playing while you are there. They bring you free popcorn, but you have to ask for it, it doesn't come out automatically. The drink selection is pretty good, and the location is nice, especially if you are staying at the lodge. There is a small arcade in the back, which I like. Now for the bad stuff. The menu is all bar food, and overpriced bar food at that. The desserts are actually the best part (which should be expected seeing how you are in Hershey and all). The service can be slow, and the place doesn't have a lot of space, so you often have to wait for a table. There isn't much they can do about the space, but the service could obviously be better, and it hasn't improved in years. read more

We eat here from time to time as we attend conferences or are at the Med Center across the street. This was a great meal/experience. Ashlyn was our server and because my wife has MANY allergies it is always tough to eat out. Ashlyn answered our questions, checked with the kitchen and made sure we had everything we needed. We eat at the Circular (in the Hotel Hershey) more than we eat at the Bear's Den and Ashlyn is as good a server as any at the more upscale place across town. Our food was very good. I can only can only vouch for the chocolate martini's but they were the best I had during my stay in Hershey. My mom had the Cherry Chocolate which was made with homemade cherry infused vodka, and I had the mocha, which was made with homemade espresso infused vodka. They were amazing and I would definitely go back here just for a drink. A tail of caution 2 will cost you $26 so sip slowly! read more
