I had three items off their menu, the patty melt, chicken pot pie, and the shredded roast berrock. The patty melt was the least offensive thing I ordered, being just alright. it was a bit overcooked at the edges, so the crust had a burnt taste. Patty and onions were decent. Pot pie was edible, but not great. The whole thing was dry, and the crust is a quickbread crust instead of a pie crust, which made it worse. They try to make up for it by giving you an extra serving of gravy on the side, but if you know your food is dry you should fix it instead of putting a bandaid over it. The Berrock was the absolute worst. I bit into it and it just tasted like salt. I thought maybe it was a fluke so I got into the meat portion of it and took another bite. Pure freaking salt. It's like someone decided salt is the only necessary seasoning for their food. I couldn't even taste the flavor of the meat itself over the taste of salt. I ended up throwing it away after two bites. If the best this shop can do is "it's okay" then I've zero reason to come back. read more

Delicious turkey club ordered with xtra onion, tomato and mayo. The bacon was weak, not enough and pretty thin, onions too but I still enjoyed it. Next time I'll order it with more. My shredded beef berrock was just okay. In the past some of these have tasted WAY TOO SALTY. This one wasn't but I will skip next time. What was a surprise is how good the French fries were! Even the small size was Large and inexpensive. Best part is they were so clean tasting (fresh oil). They come unsalted which is awesome as it's on the table and you can add your own. The fires were cooked perfectly! Service here is always excellent, there's lots of tables. Can't wait to come back. Thinking post-workout meal: T-pie, xtra gravy, t-club AND fries. It's been years since I've visited the berrock shop. Or bierocks that has been around for since 1977. The original is cabbage and seasoned ground beef, but these new favors of bbq, Mexican and breakfast, mmm. I came to grab a bite and noticed the combo menu and wanted to bring some home to share with the family, The dough and fillings are delicious. The smoky flavor of the ham in the breakfast is the most amazing. They even have sides that you can order for a get together. I tried one of each of the bierrocks and was too stuffed to give a sandwich a try. So I'll have to go back to give them a try. This place smells like fresh baking bread as soon as you walk in . The berrock I ordered was ground beef, onions, cabbage, and potato salad as a side I also ordered a fresh cherry pie . I took my seat , I noticed that the place is clean and the service is great. My food came out about 10 minutes from when I ordered. These were made fresh! I took time to breathe in the incredible aroma emulating from my food . First bite was amazing, I did add a little salt and pepper, yum! The potato salad tasted just like what my mom would make . When I was done it was time for cherry pie. The flaky crust was delicious. I really enjoyed watching the folks come and go, this place got busy in a hurry at 5:00 in the evening. Cindy was the sweetest lady I have ever met. My class and I were coming home from a trip to yosemite and had planned ahead to eat at this restaurant on the way home, but we had dificulties such as flat tires or the bus getting lost, so we werent going to make it in time before the place closed. cindy was kind enough to stay open and make our food in advance. the chefs were extremely kind too, and the food was amazing. the place was clean and the decorations really made it look super cool! When I was a kid, businesses painted their windows with cool decorations for various holidays which brought a smile to my face.  Now it's something I rarely see.  I was happy to see The Berrock Shop had their windows decorated for spring. Good selection of personal size pies here.  I tried a chicken pot pie.  Crust was flaky and buttery.  Chicken was tender and full of flavor.  I liked the gravy, carrots, and potatoes.  Nice of them to give you extra gravy to dump on your pie. Soda dispenser provides soda water which was bubbly and refreshing. Apple pie had a flaky buttery crust which I loved.  Apple filling had a sweet apple flavor.  Very tasty pie. Staff was nice and got orders out quickly.  I'll be back next time we go on a Yosemite/Kings Canyon National Park trip. read more

The French Dip was stellar! Soft bread and when I saw the au jus I was slightly disappointed as it did not look like your traditional au jus! My eyes deceived me! The flavor was spot on and this is one of the best French Dips I have ever had. It's small inside but my family of four was extremely comfortable. The staff was super attentive and even made recommendations for a first timer. My table enjoyed a chicken pot pie, 2 turkey clubs and fries. All parties were exceptionally happy with their choices. This place has popped up on my yelp feed a handful of times, and I finally decided to check it out. Walking in here is like going back to the 70s or 80s, in a good and cozy way. They make burgers, sandwiches, soups, and have tons of comfort food sides. We ordered 6-Berrocks, already baked, to go. You can get them frozen and bake them at home if you want. After a quick minute in the microwave at home, the breads yeasty smell alone brought me back to my childhood and watching my dad make these kitchen. I swear, after that first bite of the soft bun and then the flavor of the ground beef and cabbage, I could almost hear his voice. *Don't cry, get it together* I really enjoyed their classic berrocks, but their "Mexican" version, filled with taco meat, was just as delicious! Great place to get a burger or a beerrock and not overly pricey. It's not super fancy but there are plenty of places to sit. You go up to the counter to order and they bring it out to you. Best of all, they don't even ask for a tip when you pay with a credit card. I ordered the western burger and it was good, although I thought the bread was too thick. We've been buying their chicken pot pies for years. Just had one each, for dinner and noticed differences. The carrots were cut smaller and may have been the same amount, but harder to pick out (do not care for). The potatoes were also smaller and tasted different, less starchy. Pretty sure the chicken was smaller pieces and less. Rumor is that are selling (possibly sold) If they are trying to save money, please don't compromise quality. read more

I've heard nothing but good things about this place for years and finally tried it out for myself. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries, a chocolate pie and snickerdoodle cookie.
