In the past, I've gone to Villa Nails in Oak Lawn -- they did a good job, but sanitation was lacking and they often cut too much of my cuticle, sometimes making me bleed. I received THE most rude, obnoxious and unprofessional service at Best Nail and Spa on 122nd and Pulaski in Alsip, IL today. While attempting to book appointments for my husband and myself, I commented on their new business model of requiring a customer to put down a substantial non-refundable deposit to book services. In my case, it was almost 50% on the service requested, and over 50% for my husband's pedicure. The pedicure is $35, the deposit $20. The young man at the front desk told me to make the appointment without the commentary on the new policy, he was very rude and condescending. He also didn't want to provide me with a receipt for the services, telling me that it's in their system. Where do they do that at? We got into a verbal altercation because of his blatant disrespect. I am of retirement age and well respected in the community. I asked for a supervisor, she was of little assistance. He was still very combative in her presence. I asked for my deposit back, he complied and told me to GET OUT. While I have never had issued before and my nail tech, Martha, is fantastic, this is the end of my relationship with this establishment. They are going to lose a lot more business because of the attitude of that young queen at the front desk. read more

I found this place on accident. I had the worst experience at star nails down the street. I was leaving for vacation the following morning and it was already 7pm! I called the nearest salon the best nails and they saw me right away. My nails looked even better than what I had done just 2 days before at another place lasted longer than usual also. The staff was pleasant and helpful, and prices were reasonable. They offer many services, including waxing and hot stone massage, so it is more than just a nail salon. One big plus is that they use only formaldehyde, tolulene, and DBP free nail polish, and have quite a variety to choose from. I also enjoyed the luxury massage recliner chairs. Be sure to ask for RO, she does a wonderful manicure and fabulous pedicure and always helps pick the best popular colors that I get compliments on for weeks. Nancy and Scott are great as well. Everyone is so welcoming and they make sure the customers are comfortable - a nice family salon. Although they use plastic liners in the pedicure bowls (very nice touch for us germivobes), I've watched and they still take the time to thoroughly clean the bowls after each use. First of all, I want to say how dirty this place is. Everything is so dirty. Anna was absolutely rude. She was rushing me to pick a color and couldn't do any type of design I had asked for. Then, she talked about me when I was trying to pick a color which is absolutely childish. Also, another nail tech did my short acrylic nails and was in a rush to get them done. She took 30 mins to finish. My nails look horrible. They are bulky. My hands have nail polish all over and she didn't clean them. Paid $50 for them. No design just solid color. Horrible place. Pretty disappointed with the no chip manicure I received here. It's nearby, so I figured I would check it out. I've gone there twice, the first time was alright, a couple nails not shaped properly, but no big deal. I went back here a couple days ago for another no chip manicure. The manicurist rushed through the work and there was even a point where I had to have the nail polish taken off and touched up because there was some kind of hair in the polish. I love this place because they are clean. I've been to some nasty shops in the area and walked right back out. I get basic manicures and pedicures, and my eyebrows done here. Always been satisfied. However, my cousin and her friends came here for a fullset and they both had nails broken off within a week. So you might not want to risk a fullset. I still like the place for my needs though. I've been to this nail salon a few times but this is my first time back since all this Covid stuff and they reopen the prices went up which I don't mind I paid $100 for no chip manicure and pedicure but my pedicure was OK but my manicure was horrible I ask for coffin nails I didn't get those she didn't design them like they were supposed to and the acrylic or gel which ever one they use on my nails was bulky and really thick in some places I tried to show the nail tech I guess she didn't understand what I was talking about I'm really unsatisfied with how they came out I think I'm gonna go back and let the owner see what I'm talking about because I can visibly see the bulkiness on my nails from the acrylic she didn't even polish my nails well my appointment was at five so of course by the times I sat down to do my manicure they were closing and it was nothing I can do about the poor manicure job. read more

Several young ladies just standing around not really working almost playing like with their conversations that nobody wants to hear while getting treated. The waxing is now done in the pedicure room as opposed to separate area like before. While you're getting waxed another customer foot bowl is literally at your foot. Since that day in April, I've been a returning customer and now my mom comes as well. Anna or her husband typically does my nails, while my mom is usually taken care of my Nancy and Olga, but really EVERYONE here does a fantastic job. They are clean, patient and very professional. The ambience is unlike many local salons; it is serene, quiet and completely relaxing. Moreover, Nancy recently completed my follow up appt for eyebrow microblading. Let me tell you --- my brows look AH-MAY-ZING! They look so natural and full, and were a fraction of the cost many other places charge ($300 plus $50 follow up vs. $600 elsewhere). I'm originally from Minnesota & had been with my nail shop there for over 12years. I wouldn't say I'm picky, but I definitely know what I like & how I like them done. I also really value the relationship I had built with both my nail lady & nail shop. So that being said I was beyond frustrated after moving to Chicago suburbs & trying to find a new go to nail shop. Everywhere I went my nails would break before it was time for a fill. I couldn't build a relationship anywhere I went, as no one seemed to care if I returned or not. And no matter where I went, they could never seem to get my nails or pedicure done the way I like. All that changed the moment I went to The Best Nail Spa in Alsip!!! *cue Angels singing*. This place is clean, well decorated, relaxing & I love the staff! My nails never break unless it's my own fault, all the techs are really great & they offer other services such as lashes, micro blading, waxing & facials. Nancy is my go-to for nails (she's ahhh-may-zing). She's talented, funny and knows how to build relationships. Scott is also awesome when I can't get in with Nancy. I don't have a preference with my pedicures & go with who's ever available. Never had a bad experience - they are all great.
