I have been going to Valley for years. It is always clean and they give the best pedicures and massages; particularly Duke!

They have been up charging lately for essentially nothing and I don't appreciate that. Got a gel overlay and she charged an extra $10 for "nail repair." Literally just made that up. The last time they charged $5 for shaping my nail. That should come with the service! But I don't like to waste my time arguing with people so I let it slide twice. Been going here for years and give a good tip every time. This may have been my last visit. I don't like to feel scammed. I'm already getting the most expensive service, which is the gel overlay. Duke is the BEST! He always comes up with the cutest ideas for my nails, and they somehow last me 5 weeks every time. He also did my bridal nails, which made them extra special! I always leave loving my nails and look forward to seeing him every time. read more

Poor overall experience. First, colors are very limited in comparison to other salons in the area. Second, I feel that the Techs just go through the motions while failing to comply with personal requests. I see no real difference the higher priced pedicure as compared to the basic one. I chose the higher end pedicure specifically for the massage experience. What was described as a massage with foot reflexology, was merely the tech continually rubbing the arch of my foot with a balled fist. This technique was continuously performed (done while chatting with another tech) despite my complaints of pain. The remainder of the pedicure was mediocre at best. My heels remain coarse and little attention to cuticle removal was performed. Shaping and polish application were average at best. Horrible experience. The lady doing my pedicure was extremely rude and disrespectful after she painted my toes the wrong color. She quickly took off the wrong leaving leftover nail polish. Then started painting the new color without putting a base coat down. Will not be back and will let friends and family know as well. If you are that miserable find another job. read more

I absolutely love how welcoming they are. I'm 16 and went alone for the first time in September, and they made me feel so comfortable. I'm very natural and don't usually get my nails done, but Kelly did an amazing job and kept checking to make sure I liked everything. If I didn't like something, she fixed it right away. Let me start with the positive - the pedicure is great! My toes look good and they did great with my two daughters' nails as well. The problem came with my nails. At first, she didn't even push the cuticle so it looked like I had extremely small nail beds, like baby nails. Then, she "fixed" them. I'll let you be the judge. There's no way anyone who does nails or owns a nail establishment could think this is acceptable. They look terrible, and when I mentioned it to the lady at the front her response was "well she fixed them for you already".........and charged us full price. The woman at the front desk is very rude. I came back to get my dip powder manicure redone today 9/29/24 after less than two weeks. All of my nails started chipping. Inside of trying to rectify the issue, the woman at the front desk was very arrogant and argumentative. She told me that they only guarantee dip powder for two weeks, even though it's supposed to last for three weeks. I had to pay $43 to have then redone. I went in on Friday for a powder dip manicure. The tech did not know what he was doing. At the end of after dipping he attempted to put on a no chip gel top coat. Whatever he put on top of my nails at the end definitely wasn't the process. Nails are chipping and polish is inconsistent read more

I genuinely thought this was one of the best salons I've ever been to. The inside is bigger than most salons, and I think the aura and overall look of the interior is beautiful. It's calming, and you easily relax and chill here. The workers were polite towards me and the rest of the customers there as far as I could tell. I had an appointment for both a pedicure and manicure pretty early on (about less than an hour after they opened), and by the time I arrived it was packed. They took me in fairly quick, got me settled in, and began! They do take custom designs, which I thought was convenient when going because I know many others like having designs on their nails rather than a basic color. My nail technician, "Can", was very nice, and was precise with his work. Though it took longer for my nails to get done, I saw the caution and precise moves he took while doing my design. I totally recommend "Can" as a nail tech if you're looking for someone here. Both my pedicure and my manicure came out beautifully! Overall, I will say that you DO need an appointment here. With how packed it was early in the morning, I don't expect anyone to get an appointment by just walking in. I hope this review helps! read more

Before I share my unwelcomed experience, I would like to highlight that I am an African American woman that lives in the west loop area and my parents live in Oaklawn. I've never been to this nail spa before, but my mom wanted to check it out, so I brought her along. However, we walked in all the workers looked at us and did not acknowledge us at all in which I figured they have a receptionist, 5 minutes later still no one said anything mind you we are standing at the desk waiting. Finally, I raised my voice to asking if anyone is coming to the desk and one lady doing nails asked, "what do you need". after her response I was so taken back by the rudeness of not even being acknowledged and then getting a response as if I was bothering her. I wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, I ended up with a nail tech that, if I have to guess, I would say she's never been trained. I had Vivian. Poor girl is sweet as can be but is terrible at her job. Both my pedicure and manicure were horrible. The manager had to come over and fix my nails. Was just at Valley nail salon and witnessed the most disturbing scene. There were two young girls in there (probably late high school early college) getting their nails done. They were spray tanned and the workers there were so ignorant to both of them, making fun of them, comparing their colors, and laughing at them. It was so bad that another customer got up before I could and told them they looked great. Today was my 2nd time at Valley Nails since moving to Oak Lawn in May. My nail technician today was a man named Da. He did my classic pedicure and a dip manicure. I was surprised that he started me off with the sugar scrub, instead of the traditional way where they take off your old polish, do the nail shaping/trimming of cuticles and then working their way down. By the time he started putting on the polish, I had 10 minutes left of the chair massage -- their chairs won't allow you to add more time for some reason. Other places let you add more minutes to your massage while they're still working on you. The dip manicure itself was nice, but I had to remind him to add a white powder base coat -- if I didn't say anything, he'd have started dipping my fingers in the colored jar. He was receptive to it, which I can appreciate. He also turned on the fan after I asked since it'll allow me to dry them between the coats. In the two times I've been here, they don't trim your cuticles by default when getting a manicure nor do they ask if you want that as an up charge. Most places will automatically trim your cuticles as a routine. If I look really closely, I can see some black little dots that are mixed into their jar of red powder, but from afar it's not really noticeable. So far, I've been to here and D Luxe (D Luxe did a terrible job, see my review for them, my dip nails started lifting 1 week in) dip manicures -- Valley Nails can at least do the dip manicure correctly minus the cuticle cutting. read more

Made my appointment for 5 on time I'm still waiting. Lady walk in with an appointment at 5 I'm listening to her conversations and she stated she have an appointment at 5. She sit and wait Tony took her in didn't look at a book didn't take her temperature and motion her to the back. When he come back to the front I wave him down to let him know hey I also had a 5 o'clock appointment for 2 . Now he wanna get the book to see if I have an appointment and take my temperature. I came here for the first time on Saturday April 9th. The hostess was very rude. I finally had a day from working 12 hr.shifts and just wanted a simple French manicure on my real nails. My finger nails are long, healthy and strong. The woman at the front desk stated if I didn't get a no chip she wasn't responsible for my nails. She demanded I get no chip. I declined politely. I finished with my manicure at 4:40 p.m. I went to dinner and a play that night. I noticed at 8 p.m.my nails chipped on 2. I was so disappointed when I woke up at 9 a.m. All had chipped, the clear polish and cracked! I went to the nail salon, politely attempted to show the same woman my nails all but 3 had chipped even the white paint, she walked off in me! She DISRESPECTED ME , REFUSED to refund or paint my nails at least a OPI color and kept taking customers! She was very RACIST. All the patrons were shocked at her behavior. I came here to treat myself to a pedicure and instead got tortured. Emily cut the bottom of my toe with the Toenail clippers. She rushed through the entire pedicure and during my entire visit the only conversation she had was to ask if I liked the color and do I want to pay now or later. Do not give this salon your business. I thought I'd give them a try despite reading negative reviews, but wasted my time. If you want to get a basic pedicure, ask a 5 year old. They'll likely do a better job. I don't know how anyone gets a decent pedicure there. The lighting is terrible and there's no way anyone can see what they are doing. That's why I now have layers of polish that are uneven and streaky with incomplete nail coverage. I've been going to this salon for about 6 months always happy and Kevin was my nail tech and he always strived to do a great job and always did. 11/19 decided to walk in and Kevin was off so I had a young lady who was very rude with an attitude and she did my nails in less than 15 mins. (Fill with no chip) it was a rush job and within 2 days the polish was peeling I called and another gentleman fixed them because and I told him also that they didn't seem like would last two weeks although he was kind I left anyway and here I am since yesterday. Me and my daughter planned a nice day together to get our nails done. I picked my color out everything was fine and while he was painting them it wasn't even or drying nice... so I said hey buddy before we go any further I think I should change my color this isn't good at all... which was only one coat. He rolled his eyes and told his manager Tony.
