Estimates: Dmitriy came out soon after we contacted Open Space Design. He had good suggestions on how to tweak the layout of the new deck to move the stairs to a better place. The estimate provided was right around what we expected to pay. We got other estimates but the other decking companies we tried didn't really listen to our requests for simplicity, and as such, their estimates were much higher. Build: It was about a month or so from estimate to build which was quick. Jose and his crew were great. From soup to nuts, I think they completed the project in about a week. The weather was typical for Seattle this time of year, sunny one minute and pouring the next, but they kept on going all day long regardless. I couldn't be happier with the look and quality of the new deck. You can tell when people are experts in their craft. If I ever need a new deck, I will be calling Dmitriy again.

They were affordable, knowledgeable, and very willing to work with my needs and my budget. They were able to obtain the permits that were needed which is an important and valuable service. They also took care of the structural engineering that was needed to make sure that we had sufficient support for the deck. Their showroom is very helpful. There are samples and some mockups of decks, railings, lighting, etc. There are lots of options and the staff was great about explaining the options but not pressure-upselling. I felt comfortable choosing the materials and extras with their help. After the project was finished, there was one support post that didn't look finished to me when I looked at it from our dining room window. All Decks was great about coming out. After seeing and understanding what I wanted to upgrade, they were able to install a matching trim piece that made the post look complete. The deck has been installed now since Oct 2024. It still looks great and I couldn't be happier.

I reached out to fencing companies and scheduled some estimates. I was told that my problem was too small of a project and that I should find a handyman instead. I hadn't met with Casey yet and thought he would tell me the same. But he responded that my problem wouldn't be a waste of his time and that he'd be happy to help. He came out -- twice -- and gave me a very reasonable quote. He also caught another rotting post that other people (at least three of them) had failed to see. Casey was also responsive even though I took a while to get back to him. We ended up being unable to work with Casey as our neighbors fixed the fence. When the time comes for a new fence, I'm not bothering with other companies. I'll be reaching out to Casey and Six Bells for sure. Sitting on the fence about who to hire? They had great reviews, many photos/videos of completed work as well as a very good bid price. My experience has taught me that one of the keys to a good contractor is their ability to find and keep good subcontractors. Almost all of the subcontractors that worked on our remodel were top-notch. In any remodel, issues arise that complicate the work, especially those that involve more than one trade. We had several significant ones. We worked with Liran to insure that good decisions were made to resolve them including allowing me to work on the remodel to insure that the project wasn't unduly delayed. It is very important to Liran to make sure that his clients are happy. For example, we liked the LVT installation in our kitchen so much that we decided we wanted to replace carpet in a 'hub' area. Liran included the installation at no cost to us.
