Been here before for breakfast and everything was good if not noteworthy. Thought we'd give the Friday Night Fish Fry a try and... man, that was very disappointing. Their fried fish was Cod according to the menu. It was hard to tell because each fish filet was paper thin then coated with batter. Even so, it would take two or three of these filets to equal the thickness of a McDonald's Filet of Fish portion. The fried shrimp seemed pounded flat and was like mush when bitten into after frying. Calamari was mushy, too. Maybe they're trying to accommodate the seniors without teeth? Could've just puréed that instead. Won't be returning for dinner anytime soon. read more

We will NOT go back to The Buttered Biscuit! We went to dinner there last night and decided to have the Prime Rib. For the $22.99 price, you get the prime rib, vegetables and either a baked or mashed potato. For the price, I really felt that there should have been the option of either soup or salad, but that was not the case. The baked potato came with only butter, which I thought was strange because it generally comes with sour cream and chives also. I asked if I could have these items and the waitress brought them. The mixed vegetables were over cooked like they had been cooking for hours and the meat was not very tender or flavorful. Was I surprised when I got the bill and they actually charged me for the sour cream and onions! Not only did she not tell me that these would be an extra charge, but because I used my credit card and not cash, my bill was higher....this is highway robbery! read more

This restaurant is under a new name thus " The Buttered Biscuit." I really liked it under Biscuits. We always had the best service and choice of good food. Today it was exceptionally good. You are greeted at the door and seated with a great menu. They serve breakfast and lunch and close by 2 p.m. Service was wonderful and food hardy, filling and plenty. I had the huevos rancheros and it was good. My husband had biscuits and gravy, eggs, hash browns and crispy fried spam. He was very pleased. There are the usual breakfast items and a really great selection. Something for everyone, even the kiddies. The lunch is equally as large and the American menu offers a lot of choices. Restaurant was busy and serving staff friendly while the selection of food items will keep us coming back. This is a great one to try. read more

My son and I came after a doctor's appointment and decided to try it out. The big red barn decor is very cute and there was plenty of table and booth seating. Sent a couple messages to their office asking about their Fish Fry's on Friday and never received a response.

With all the breakfast places to choose from, this is the first and only time that I will eat at a Biscuits restaurant. The greeting was great and it went downhill from there. We placed our order and my wife had the biscuits and gravy and the biscuits used were dry. I received a biscuit with my order and she said it was far better. Conclusion, they use old biscuits in the meal. My son ordered a pancake bundle and the pancake was fine but we waited for the eggs and bacon that was supposed to come with it. Kept looking for our server and finally found her talking on her phone in the kitchen. Once I got her attention she brought out the eggs and bacon immediately. They were cold. We were hoping for a far better experience but were sorely disappointed and will not be back. read more

First time at establishment - decent inside - ordered chicken fried steak, eggs over easy , has browns and toast , wife ordered California omelette: food arrived fast, however when my chicken fried steak arrived I questioned its appearance as the gravy appeared to be about 2 tea spoons worth ( which I believe is against man law ) and hash browns were burnt crisp: so I dug in as I was hungry - eggs hard no yolk for hash browns , had to ask for more gravy which the waiter brought a thimble full which was odd , one and I say one piece of toast very very lite buttered (hard to tell which side to jelly - Chicken fried steak seems very over deep fried , hard , no taste - wife says California omelette was bland at best - so I give the place a 5 and probably will not return - went to check out and was told their is fee to use our debit card , so we used cash - I wish all small businesses the best however this price point was high for the return read more

What a nice place! The inside is decorated with roosters and chickens. It's bright and clean. The servers are SUPER nice and the service was great. My mom (at 91) was able to order off the kid's menu and really enjoyed the surprise of seeing the "Mickey Mouse" shaped pancakes. (I'm not sure what she expected, but her smile was a beautiful thing!) I had the biscuits and sausage gravy. The food was great. My mom enjoyed her orange juice. I don't think I'd order the coffee again -- it wasn't bad, it just wasn't good either. Since my mom is staying in Sun Lakes, this place is convenient. What a find. Out first visit as it's new to the neighborhood and we loved what we had. I had the Biscuits Special and everything except the breakfast potatoes were outstanding. They had a strange texture. Loved the Biscuit and Gravy. I find most biscuit and gravy order in AZ to be substandard. The gravy tends to be too "floury" and the biscuits dense and dry. These were top notch. My wife had the Carnitas Hash. She loved it as well. Had a bite of hers and found the carnitas to be moist and flavorful. This wil l definitely be in our regular rotation. Probably would have rated 4 1/2 stars if it was an option due to the breakfast potatoes. read more

The food at this particular Biscuit's location is not as good as it was when they first opened. Just this morning, I ordered the House Omlette (3 eggs and cheese) a side of bacon and hash browns. There was no cheese in the center of the omlette, and the bacon was so overcooked it was almost black. When I commented to the server she offered to put some cold shredded cheese on the omlette. I don't know what happened! The food was excellent just a few months ago. I will not return to this location again! read more

Finally, a comfortable and complete restaurant in the neighborhood. Had lunch there today and was really impressed. The breakfast and lunch menus are varied and can provide dishes for everyone.
