The QC Junction Café is truly a hidden gem on Rittenhouse Road just off Ellsworth. Tucked away and not visible from the street, it's absolutely worth the short drive to find it. I've brought the Golden Girls of the East Valley here many times to enjoy both the delicious food and the inviting ambiance. Amber, the supervisor, has always been incredibly welcoming, and her student staff is consistently professional, attentive, and proud of their work. The food is not only tasty but beautifully presented--and I can honestly say I've never been disappointed. As an added bonus, just a short walk from the café is the Repurposed Thrift Store, which feels more like a Scottsdale boutique than a thrift shop. Stumbled across this interesting find as we needed to grab some food before hiking a San Tan trail. It was great to visit a cafe for a cause. I ordered a cauliflower pizza, which came out fresh, flavorful, cheesy, and super crispy. You cannot tell there is cauliflower, and it made for a filling and enjoyable lunch. Wow, so happy we found this spot. We ordered takeout and we were pleasantly surprised with how delicious the righteous rolls are. They are so delicious and they come with a side of salsa - they did forget to put our salsa in our bag but oh my, these are enjoyable without. I had a black iced coffee and my husband had the iced chai with a shot of espresso. They have flavored syrup options for your coffee as well as milk alternatives. We didn't try any flavored syrups. Everything is priced well below standard. The cafe was plenty spacious and it looked very clean. I would hold off on going to this place again. I was a little thrown off with the location. At first I thought I was going to a strip mall then I thought I was at the church's café and at the wrong spot. That being said, the food quality reminded me of something thrown together relatively last minute just to provide a source of sustenance. Nothing that we ordered tastes good. The manager was a lady in her early 20s running around like a chicken with her head cut off trying to manage a few teenagers on how to prepare the food and how to run the register. Overall it seemed like a situation where where nobody knew much about the place. I ordered breakfast pizza muffins which was supposed to come with marinara and they served me salsa instead. I was not pleased with my meal but figured I would take it to go and when I asked for a to go container, I was told that they did not have such a container with a lid. The QC cafe is a great place that serves breakfast and lunch run by the students at Canyon academy the are a non profit establishment that benefits the kids that work there. I had the cauliflower pizza with chicken it was crispy the chicken cheese bacon toppings worked well together my wife had the breakfast bowl also delicious coffee was hot and tasty also had a warmed apple turnover drizzled with icing so good. I really wanted to give this place a 5 because I love their mission to give kids in tough situations a positive place to work and an opportunity to learn. I think they're still working out the kinks. That being said, be gentle with them, they're still figuring it out. 2 people ordered salads and a another a sandwich. Each came out without all the ingredients and the incorrect dressings for the salad because they had run out of supplies, but they didn't tell us that they were out (or I would have changed my order). That being said, they were fresh and delicious. The dressings are served on the side and were surprisingly tasty. I went there to listen to our CEO host a Women In Business discussion on Leading Courageously. This cafe is nestled among a few stores all operated by the kids and supervised by the adults. It is designed to helped disadvantaged children obtain their GED and enter the world with real-life skills. They can choose to work in the cafe, thrift store and barber shop. Great place to eat and help kids. The Village @ Canyon State - The Junction Cafe. The service was great and the Cubano sandwich is the best I have had. Folks stop in and have bite, tip the kids as it goes into their scholarship fund. These kids have been dealt a bad hand in life and are really trying to make a difference. It is on Ritttenhouse just northeast past Chick Fil A and Barros. You will become a regular after eating there. sandwiches, salads, ice cream counter and pastries/coffee. They also have a 2nd chances thrift shop "Repurposed" (very nice shop) as well a barber shop. Laura (cafe mgr), Christie (thrift mgr) and Marie Culpepper (dir.) have done an amazing job and are giving those kids a chance in life. The kids greet you, tell the story and are proud to be part of something positive. Folks you don't see that in many of the places kids work.
