My friend and I were doing a mini food crawl through downtown Encinitas and decided to stop by here for a quick snack and drink. I guess you could call it a bit of a girl dinner (or snack) - aperol spritz + onion rings. The vibes were great, especially the back patio area. The service was also pretty solid and we didn't feel like anyone was rushing us out, despite just ordering nibbles. Great spot overall!

The food here is SO GOOD, my boyfriend and I went twice during our 3 day trip. Que diablos ha pasado short rib nachos are amazing! The service is great and the restaurant interior itself is quite nice. The weather was perfect!

8 wings = $23 ouch. Honestly a not a bad spot, but also it's not a great spot. The name is pretty misleading as the only German item on the menu are the pretzels. No German beer neither. It's located on the main strip of Encinitas so it's always popular.

Fabulous place to hang out for Sunday and grab a cold beer! Their beer glasses are chilled and the vibe is relaxed. If you sit on the patio it is a little calmer if you go inside next to the bar it is lively! It must see when you come to Encinitas!

Was craving some fries so we went here after looking at the menu! Pretty popular spot for lunch/ brunch. The restrooms were clean and the fries were really good! Service was excellent! The price of the food was a bit tad high but other than that it was great! The truffle fries were lacking in truffle flavor it tasted mostly like regular fries and salt.

THE CUBANO, this was Amazing. TRY IT NOW!

I've been at this place quite a few times, decided I would go ahead and leave a review this time. I love the menu, there is a lot of stuff on this menu and all of it is very very good. Every time I've been there the service has been great and that's what keeps me coming back. Overall, this place is definitely worth giving a try and I would most certainly recommend this place to others.

Love eating here! It's such a fun vibe! You're right in the heart of downtown Encinitas. My husband and I like eating outside when the weather is nice! We have been here many times and have never had bad service! My favorite thing to order is the short rib nachos!

Hearty Bloody Mary. Pretty much a roadside attraction with all the grub. It's more fun than tasty.

The name of the restaurant is kind of German but the food is about as German as the taco shop across the street. Really, the place is about as 'Murican as you can get. It's basically glorified pub grub. It's also family friendly and dog friendly. The loaded poato bites appetizer is very generous and was very good. It's basically potato wedges with cheese, sour cream, and bacon. What's not to like? The Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich was ridiculous. I can unhinge my snake jaws with the best of them but not for this thing. It contains a ton of fried chicken stacked to the sky, with pickles, onions, lettuce, and tomato between buns. Unfortunately, the chicken was fried far too long, was very dry, and the batter was not good. The oil may have been old and it was definitely over-fried. That chicken died in vain. On the other hand, the Cardiff Crack Steak Sandwich was excellent. The meat was tender and the bread was very nice (the menu called it a hoagie but it was unlike any hoagie I have ever seen). Whatever. It's a very good sandwich. The entrees come with a ton of very nicely-seasoned thick fries. Just for fun, I tried the Hearty Bloody Mary which comes with a ton of "fixins" (bacon, celery, cheese, pepperoncini, pickled onion, and a mini Slim Jim. It also comes with a beer chaser. The drink itself was fine. Our server was outstanding. He was friendly, refilled our water constantly, and gave good recommendations. The food portions were generous but the cooking was uneven. Overall, it's a safe choice unless you're looking for a real German beer garden. Prost!

My sister and I randomly stopped at this place to eat as we were walking back to where we parked the car. The smell of the food is what drew us in. We shared the Fig Burger. It sounded interesting. It had two of my favorite things I like on hamburgers; arugula and herbed goat cheese. You know, the hamburger was really delicious. Perfectly cooked too. My sister and I shared the hamburger and I got the fries and my sister got the onion rings. The fries were delicious and I loved the ranch. It wasn't tangy. The onion rings were declicious as well. They are perfectly crisp.

The Bier Garden in Encinitas is a lively, fun spot just steps from the beach. The drink selection is impressive, and the atmosphere is energetic and social, making it perfect for hanging out with friends. It can get crowded, especially on weekends, but that only adds to the festive vibe. The staff is friendly and keeps things running smoothly, even when the place is busy. Definitely a great spot to enjoy good drinks, good company, and a true beach-town experience.

And our server was fantastic. So why, you might ask, only 4 stars in my review. Two reasons: 1). Management has prohibited giving a splash of a beer for someone to sample. Bottom line is that I wanted to order a pint of beer, but I wanted a splash of a couple of beers to try to make my decision. They refused, saying that one must buy a 5oz taster if one wants to taste the beer. I find that policy offensive. In the end I bought a taster to taste the Chuuurch, and then bought an additional pint after. It just seems nickel and dimey, and would be asking to an ice cream place not allowing one to sample their ice creams before buying a cone. I hope management reconsiders this policy. 2. My wife got the Hot Mess Fries and was disappointed not only in the flavor, but also in the misleading advertising. On the menu it specifically said that there was bacon in the fries, but in fact what they put on the fries was either chunks of ham or "Canadian bacon" (which as we all know is a very different thing from "bacon"). If they were or of regular bacon, the kitchen should have told the server this so he could have asked her if she wanted ham as a substitute. And, of they always use ham instead of bacon, them the menu needs to be changed to reflect that.

The cornbread was easily the best I've ever had -- warm, flavorful, and moist. I don't like cornbread because it's usually dry but my goodness, this cornbread was anything but. It was the best cornbread I've ever had.The broccoli was also the best I've ever had. I'm not a fan of broccoli, but the cooks charred the outside to get such a nice, crispy texture without it tasting burnt. Meanwhile the broccoli stem was cooked to contrast with the crunchy-like bites of the charred head. The market fish trout was good, granted trout was dry and isn't my favorite fish. But I ordered it to pay attention to the other facets of the dish: the puree and mushrooms that accompanied it were the stars. At least the trout skin was crispy. Campfire has a rustic, cabin feel to it (I thought the arrows on the walls were a cool touch). Servers were great and attentive. I'd come back to try other entrees.

The only dish we didn't love was actually their "signature" broccoli dish. A little too much char for both our tastes, but glad we tried it.

I ordered the mahi mahi fish tacos and a house coffee. The coffee was actually pretty good! Cream and sugar were delivered separately to finish with your preference. As for the tacos, it was okay. The fish was a bit dry for my liking, cabbage could have been chopped with more finesse, and I wished they QC'd their limes a bit before putting them on the plate. Both were bone dry and I had to ask for more. Moreover, the cilantro lime rice was also a bit bland. It needed salt to lift the flavors in my opinion. There weren't even flecks of green if it was supposed to be cilantro? I tried boyfriend's veggie hash but was disappointed to find that it was almost all potatoes. Having said that, it was an extremely generous portion so he was filled up. While I didn't try it, our friend that had the chorizo hash also said it was okay so I'm guessing the ratio wasn't quite right. Anyways, ask for their chili sauce on the side, that's actually quite surprising. It had really good heat and was more like a chili crisp than a vinegary hot sauce. The plates that did score favorably at the table were the carne chilaquiles and the divorced eggs.

I saw I had already bookmarked it for their highly rated fish and chips, and it was only half a mile away so we decided to walk. It was a beautiful walk along the beach, surfers everywhere reminded me of my college days at UCSD and how big the surfing culture is here. After we passed the train tracks we took a left and had a quarter mile walk straight up the hill! It was definitely a tough little hike for us out of shapers, but it was just enough to get some exercise and work up our appetites and thirst. We put our name down for window seats and stood at the bar while watching the NBA finals. We ordered a couple aperol spritz and were throughly enjoying the vibe and view. Everyone here was super friendly, great customer service and was surprised to see how packed it was late afternoon on a Tuesday. Our server later told us it's like that every night. We had to wait about 15-20 mins for our table but we were fine, then got seated right by the window. The view was amazing, drinks were strong, and some excellent fish and chips and appetizers. The bar even gave a little speech, where the bartender read a poem, apparently a nightly tradition. Cool touch. Great place for families, groups or couples. Recommend!

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed by the behavior of one of your managers, Hope. My mother was on the phone with my sister through FaceTime, simply talking and enjoying herself. Hope approached my mother in a very aggressive and unprofessional manner, standing extremely close to her and angrily telling her to hang up the phone and stop recording, even though my mother was not recording anyone. I tried to explain that my mother does not speak English very well, but instead of handling the situation professionally, Hope accused me of being rude, told us to leave, and threatened to call the police. Her behavior made both my mother and me feel very upset, uncomfortable, and unwelcome. She also stood very close to us and made physical contact by touching me, which made me feel extremely uncomfortable. No customer should be treated this way. We came to your business hoping to enjoy ourselves and receive good service, but instead we experienced rude, aggressive, and unacceptable treatment from a manager. I hope senior management will address this situation seriously so that no other customers have to go through the same experience. Because of this incident, we do not feel comfortable returning to that location.
