Our business has had our holiday party at the Biltmore for 3 years in a row now, and we are never dissapointed. The staff is amazingly helpful, friendly and they do a fantastic job. The restaurant is always clean, and we love the cozy, yet modern vibe they have. A lot of our staff do lunches, dinners and drinks here as well, and we have yet to have had a bad experience. I'm a big fan of The Biltmore for bar food in Newton. They actually have pretty great food. The nachos are usually one of my favorite staple dishes. They do a really good job with portions and quality. No matter which protein you pick it's always piled on. The burgers are great. Fried pickles. French dip. The menu has enough variety to meet your needs. The bartenders are friendly. The waitresses are nice. Overall great staff. The layout is good but a little tight in the bar area. With some familiarity with the food and beverage industry due to family members in it, I can say with confidence that Serge did everything right - his service was the same high quality as found in some of the elite NY restaurants yet provided within the context of a very relaxed, casual, comfortable environment. We had dinner here a few nights ago, and it was pretty good. The service was good and the ambience was OK. We were kind of in a side room and had a really neat gas pump in front of us I had the Black and Blue Burger, which was good and cooked perfectly, with Cesar salad. My wife had the steak tips, which were good. The best looking food was my brother in laws' Hot Honey Fried Chicken sandwich - looked delicious. My father-in-law had the braised short ribs with risotto and he wasn't a big fan, he said the ribs were pretty tough. My daughter had the fish and chips which she really enjoyed. My son had the kids meal with buttered pasta, it wasn't very much food and he ended up ordering two portions. Plus a couple beers and drinks. Total bill was 212.93. The menu is rather limited, but the Sunday Brunch (11-3) is great. Park on the street or in back. The steak tips were also great, cooked extra rare, just the way I like them. Complaints? My stomach cannot handle hot spices, and the cook put hot pepper powder (cayenne?) on the home fries. Get other potato options without the hot pepper. The sweet potato fries are great! Unfortunately, they only have barbecue sauce, no steak sauce or Worcestershire sauce. Also, no jelly available for your toast. Bring your own steak sauce and jelly. Service is great, ambiance is great, with many muted televisions. read more

The Biltmore has a casual, welcoming feel. We ate in the dining room last night. All of the staff were pleasant and attentive, and our server, Serge, was just excellent! I keep track of how I rate the hamburgers and fries in the restaurants I go to (honestly - I do eat more salads than burgers!) and the Biltmore's smashburger is at the top of my list. My sangria was good enough, although I'll probably get something different next time. And there will be a next time - great place for a get-together with family or a group of friends! Our server was right there with waters and drink options, menus , and specials. I had the Big Mac sliders which were hot and delicious. They got the burger/sauce/lettuce ratio just right. My lunch partner had the Nashville chicken sandwich with French fries She ate every bit and commented on how good the fries were. Everything was carefully made and delicious. Cool neighborhood spot that does weekly trivia nights on Tuesdays! I had been looking for a trivia place for a while and happy to find one in my neck of the woods. Plus, the trivia checked off several boxes: 1) challenging questions but not too challenging that no one could possibly know the answer; 2) multiple rounds; 3) varied format (they did a picture round, a puzzle round, and the standard Q&A); and 4) fun, engaging quizmaster. By the end, my friends and I were already planning our next Tuesday outing. (Though, if you are NOT a trivia person, maybe don't come on Tuesday nights. The restaurant fills up with players, many of whom get quite competitive, and the speaker system gets cranked up loud. I felt a little sad for the table next to us who were just trying to enjoy their burgers.) My Caesar salad was pretty good: I liked that they used baby kale instead of lettuce, good amount of dressing, grilled chicken tasted fresh and piping hot instead of the sad, cold strips from the supermarket. Also sampled some waffle fries - no way you can go wrong with those. I love a good buffalo chicken wrap and will have to come back to try it from their lunch menu. They initially brought out a spinach salad and, to apologize for mishearing the order (which was totally understandable, given how loud it was), our waitress kindly took it off the check. Very pleasantly surprised! Parking: a small-ish lot in the back of the building that quickly filled up when I came. If you turn onto Oak Street at the traffic light closest to Biltmore, there's plenty of metered spaces that become free after 6pm. And, if you prefer to eat outside, the parking lot is right in front of the Upper Falls Greenway, which takes you right to the river. read more

Guess who is feeling stupid (not to mention deprived!) that she was never at the Biltmore until last night???? A friend suggested meeting here for an early Sunday dinner, I arrived around 5:15 and sat at the bar to wait with a nice can of Angry Orchard. Bartender was awesome - apologies that I don't know his name, but friend paid and I didn't see the receipt - and we decided to stay at the bar for dinner. Based on the Yelp reviews I had read prior to arriving, I ordered the Biltmore Burger which was EVERYTHING the reviews said it was: delicious, cooked perfectly and with a sauce that was perfect. Also amazing were the waffle fries, and it all went down nicely with another drink. My friend ordered the burger as well and had a couple of beers, absolutely no complaints and when we left I said he is welcome to bring me back there anytime. Parking lot in back, I parked out front since it was a Sunday but beware of the 1-hour parking if you are there Monday - Saturday. We dined at Biltmore last night (a Tuesday) and had somewhat of a "mixed" experience. Our reservation was at 6:30, we were immediately seated and placed our order at 6:40, and...we received our food at 7:55. Our server informed us that our orders were put in behind a party of 20 guests; and after checking with our manager, he let us know that our server had not put in the order until 7:10. One of our orders had also been mistakenly swapped out for a different dish. HOWEVER - despite the order malfunctions and somewhat extreme wait time, the food was quite delicious! Their ingredients are clearly fresh and the menu is varied - something for everyone, for sure. The tavern ambiance is a lot of fun, and there's a mix of traditional pub food and healthier options available! We loved the mezze plate (such great hummus!!), pretzel bites, and prosciutto & burrata sandwich. Everything came out at the perfect temperature, and was nicely plated. This was an excellent pub in the Newton neighborhood! I loved the friendly service and the food. We stayed in the bar area and it was a lot of good vibes I really enjoyed my cocktail,. Good Nu Mule which has homemade ginger beer. I tried the sweet chili chicken wings, the steak tips, and the parmesan chicken sandwich. The portions are generous. This place is a pleasant surprise. The sloppy joe sliders were okay. I had the burger with a side of garlic spinach, and the burger was average, but packed with lettuce and the "brioche" bun tasted more like costco brand sandwich bread. It was dry and fell apart, so I ended up finishing the meat with a fork. The garlic spinach tasted more like boiled lawn clippings than garlic, so I exchanged it for a mediocre but generously sized caesar salad. The steak tips were okay, but some were underdone. The wait staff were friendly, but the obnoxiously loud wuss-rock playing over the speakers made it difficult to hear conversation. Alcohol of any type is extremely overpriced--be prepared to pay more than a dollar per year for only 1.5oz of any decent whiskey. I'll also mention that the beer keg urinal in the men's room has an undersized opening, and you get your shoes washed when your flush it--about as functional as it is classy. Overall, this is very average restaurant with above average prices. read more

Went because it was one of only places open with outdoor dining. It was our first time here. Dylan was our waiter and he was fabulous. We both had Ceasar salad one with salmon and one steak tips. Salmon was delicious steak tips were over cooked but my friend still liked. Dylan made a great drink and had a great personality will definitely return. read more

Don't order the salads here... I received one of the saddest Waldorf salads of my life as takeout. Greens wilting and unappetizing altogether with the blandest chicken for $15+. Now that's out of the way I'd say the rest of their menu (you know the greasy, fatty food) are all a better option. I love the loaded waffle pub fries, their burgers/sandwiches, and baja fish tacos. Pass on the Muchos Nachos, it just didn't seem to be very evenly distributed. Very lopsided toppings. Although they are on more expensive side for pub food, it always seems to be busy! In fact one night we wanted to call to place a takeout order and we couldn't get through to someone for nearly an hour. They have a small tight-fit parking lot in back, which fills up quickly. There's also another lot across the street. Their interior has a quirky throw back decor from signs to license plates and even an old gas pump. They have some outdoor seating options with heat lamps. As for service, it's your run of the mill. The first time here for lunch one of the servers absentmindedly gave us ketchup even though we all ordered salads. I have to agree with the others that recommended Dunn-Gaherin's or O'Hara's instead for better price and portion size. read more

She then said "the drink will be right out. I was already almost done my meal. Then another long wait. By this point we were done our meals. She then brings a drink to someone else at my table and I mentioned I still had not received mine. This is where she lied and said "I thought you didn't want one"...um what? Not only did you take the order. You told me it would be right out. Through the whole meal she never came over to check on us. I needed salt, ketchup and napkins. I have heard about the Biltmore for years, but somehow have never been! I finally went yesterday for lunch. I made a reservation, but it wasn't needed - there were plenty of empty tables. It did fill up a bit while we were there, but it wasn't super packed. Our waitress and the hostess were both super pleasant, which made the experience even that more enjoyable. We were seated in the third room (this place is very big!), which we had completely to ourselves, for a while. After a bit, two other people were seated directly next to us, despite the fact that they had a 4-person table and could have sat on the other side. Made it seem a bit more cramped, but oh well. My husband got the burger, which I had to taste. It was super tasty & juicy - I definitely had food envy! I got the Cali Chicken Wrap without bacon. It was ok - not a ton of flavor, but the bacon probably would have made it more flavorful. But the waffle fries? YES. We each got a good portion and they were DELISH. Overall, the food didn't blow me away, but there were a lot of good options on the menu. It wouldn't be my first choice of restaurant in the future, but I would come back to try something else (and have waffle fries again). read more
