I asked for tarter sauce and I got a smoked aoil that was out of this world. Last week I had the chicken with fried chicken with this yummy spicy sauce and the truffle popcorn. The Bine has been on my #yelpradar for, like, ever. So when I recently found myself in Bothell meeting up with a friend for a Friday afternoon beer, I was excited to finally stop in. First off, let me just say how cute downtown Bothell is right now. They've blocked off a huge portion of the street so that local restaurants could create outdoor spaces during covid. The Bine had a sweet setup that included individually separated little dining "huts" set up along the street. They were adorbs! Unfortunately, on this sunny day, they were also full so we ended up sitting inside. We weren't really there to eat, but the menu looked very tempting - I'll definitely be back to try lunch or dinner there. We each got a beer (me something on the dark side, my friend a classic hazy IPA), and while their tap list isn't huge there was definitely something to choose from no matter your beer style. We also ended up ordering some fries with parmesan, garlic, and truffle. They were quite delicious, and such a huge portion we couldn't even finish it. Great brew pub in downtown Bothell! Been here a few times with friends and family, and always had a great experience. The beer list is amazing, and I enjoyed my two fresh hop beers on my most recent visit. The food is also solid, and I have tried a number of their sandwiches (loved the cubano and fried chicken), as well as their carnitas tacos. Go with a sandwich and upgrade your fries to truffle fries. They also have an awesome freshly baked chocolate chip cookie and ice cream for dessert which is totally worth the wait. This was our first time at the bine and I can see why people like it -- good atmosphere, really great service, interesting menu. I got the fried chicken sandwich and it was pretty good, but not great and I'll tell you why. 1. It's chicken thigh rather than chicken breast, so the consistency is a bit yucky and inconsistent in terms of some parts that seemed more like chicken breast and other pieces that felt like big fatty bits. It was well coated and nicely fried, but the texture is ick. 2. There is cilantro on this sandwich, which is fine. I'll eat cilantro all day every day. But this was long stem and all, and because the stems wilt with the heat of the sandwich I ended up with these stringy cilantro pieces that I thought at first was part of the chicken, like that gross tendon that you get sometimes, but it was just cilantro. It would've been much better if it had been chopped up rather than laid out like dandelions 3. This would've been better with a really fresh (maybe citrusy or tangy) slaw rather than guacamole. And if you know me, you know I love guacamole. But the heat from the spicy sauce really needed a cool crisp counterpart, and guacamole just doesn't offer that. Bun was good, I love pickled onions on anything, and the sauce was a nice combo of spicy and sweet. And the fries were just as good as everyone says! Both were cooked okay (too thin to really be medium rare but it was ok) and came out quickly but they were totally overdone with the topping and sauces. Couldn't taste the meat. My Macrina bakery potato bun was soaked in sauce which was really sad. Bacon was also hard and unappetizing. Other items on the menu also look good. Someone please tell Valerie she is awesome! My friend and I visited The Bine Beer & Food after a day of wine tasting. We were starving in Woodinville, but held off, as we both had been wanting to try the Bine for far too long. We came here on a Saturday night and of course, there was a line outside the door, for all those waiting to be seated. Since it was the two of us, we were told it would be about 20 minutes or when a table opens up. 20 minutes turned into 40 minutes and we were hangry. I mean, Joe Pesci in a Snickers commercial angry. We stuck it out though and finally, a table cleared! God, we wanted everything. We started with beers and ordered right away. My friend ordered the brussels sprouts with fried chicken, a side of the German potato salad and I had the burger with truffle fries. I also had my dog with me so ordered her a side of chicken, and they even brought out her own doggie bowl. Valerie, our amazing server helped us throughout the night and was incredibly thoughtful and kind. She heard that it was our first time at the Bine, so gave us free cheese curds! How freaking awesome is she?! We were so ecstatic, especially since we were starrrrving. The cheese curds were definitely a great way to start, as they had a nice, light batter on them with cheesy goodness in the middle and included two different sauces to dunk 'em in. Our food came soon after and everything was delicious! It's worth the hype, and dare I say, wait?! My friend's brussels sprouts had a nice cook to them from the cast iron skillet, with a hint of sweetness from the honey they use to cook it with. The German potato salad was cooked warm, and I liked the mustard flavor with. My burger was one of the better burgers I've had! It was cooked to a perfect medium rare with pickled red onions and a tomato jam that added a nice contrast to the juiciness from the red meat. Truffle fries were fantastic! We were stuffed when we were finished, but weren't leaving without a cookie and ice cream dessert. Valerie hooked us up again with a shot of a porter beer that went well with our chocolate-y dessert. We definitely love this restaurant! We've tried both take out and outside area dine-in and both experiences were wonderful. The staff was prompt, accommodating, and friendly. Their menu features various pub style food. The bacon grilled cheese is my favorite. Generous portions of cheese and thick slices of bacon with fries - my perfect comfort food. Another great alternative is the fried chicken sandwich. The flavors of red onion, guacamole, honey sriracha, and a generous portion of fried chicken thigh just hits the spot. For smaller appetites, I recommend the brussel sprouts and the truffle fries. I also recommend the giant cookie with a scoop of chocolate ice cream for dessert. We're not much of beer drinkers so we ordered the Schilling Cascadia Cherry Cider. I wouldn't hesitate to order it again. Overall, great spot for a relaxed meal. Firstly, the food and beer was spectacular - The service and ambiance left a little to be desired. The street this place is on is blocked off by big concrete barriers and like most streets that are blocked like this there wasn't anyone to be found. You have to park far-ish away and walk in. The service is where the real rub was, our waitress just kinda threw herself into our conversation a few times and usually we wouldn't even notice but this time we did because it wasn't about serving us, it was about what the server wanted to get done. Wow. Solid comfort food in the heart of downtown Bothell! Order by phone or online so you don't have to yell across the threshold of the entrance. We dropped by after getting pedicures across the street and quickly realized they weren't open for seated dining yet. So we phoned in the order and went to Hop and Hound around the corner for a beverage while we waited. They said the order would be about 20-30 min and everything was ready as promised when we returned 25 min later. We were able to bring the food back to Hop and Hound's patio to eat and drink out there. First off the Brussels sprouts were cooked just how I like them (doused in some sort of marinade/oil and cooked until not crunchy anymore). The srirachi sauce was spicy and a little unnecessary since the sprouts were so flavorful on their own - but still good! The truffle popcorn was the best I've ever had. The added thin layer of melted parmesan over the top was genious!!! I may have to make popcorn at home this way from now on! I didn't try the bacon grilled cheese but the fries that accompanied it were very good! I don't know why I've waited so long to check out The Bine! This place is "must go" in Bothell! Let's start with the #1 reason for visiting, the beer. Talk about an expansive tap list! Any beer style you like, they've got at least one represented! The biggest variety is a PNW staple - IPA's! They had 7-8 different IPA/pales on draft. The only drawback is no samples. They do schooners which are a smaller pour, but when you're trying to sample a lot of different beers it's a quick way to get hammied (hammered!) We had lunch while we were there. I had the mac and cheese. It was delicious. Served up in a hot iron skillet - topped with bread crumbs. It was the perfect blend of cheese, crunch and creaminess! My husband had the chicken sando & fries. It looked really good. (If it wasn't for the pickles I would've tried it myself!) If you're a beer lover, try this spot! The truffle fries were great and worth it. I'm usually hesitant about getting truffle fries because of the standard markup restaurants put on the "truffle" but I went with it here and was not disappointed. I was able to smell the truffle as it landed on our table as well as taste it with every fry. These fries got me so hopeful that when I visited another restaurant the following week, I ordered truffle fries but was disappointed to get the standard extra salty fries with barely any truffle. Perfect summer spot!! We went on a Sunday afternoon and got a spot right outside at a picnic table. We were in no hurry and service was decently timed. We tried the Brussels sprouts with fried chicken (it's just tiny pieces) and burger, they were so good. The fries are awesome, get some aioli to dip them, they're perfectly seasoned potatoes...so delish. I had been craving dessert so even while stuffed we ordered the monster cookie with ice cream. It tasted better the further we got into it. That burger too, yuuuum. We like things saucy and this had the perfect toppings on it, I would go back just for that. We tried some great beer and the prices are incredibly reasonable. With parking easy to find around the corner (we got sucked into Front & Main and basically redecorated our entire house) this is going to be a go to spot for sure. The Bine popped up on Yelp at the top of the list and we chose to grab lunch and some beer. What a nice place this is! So glad we ate here. The meal started off with beer-battered curds, fresh out of the fryer. For dipping we had sriracha aioli and serrano pepper jelly. I went for something unique and chose the pho-rench (french) dip. Super friendly and nice. Also, very attentive and helpful. Their beer selection is great! We love trying different beers. Liked the blueberry cider too. Cheese curds were quite good, aioli was good, spicy jam was not spicy at all and a bit too sweet for me. The hubby ordered the cubano, it was really tasty. I ordered the pho' French dip. The pho broth was really good, aromatic and well done. The crusty bread was really good. But that's where it kind of ended. The sandwich (sort of like a bahn mi) itself was really plain, hardly any of the fresh bright veggies that pho or a bahn mi typically has. The beef was really really tough and chewy. Not sure if the kitchen staff sliced the beef WITH the grain as opposed to against the grain, but chewing the meat was somewhat unpleasant. Staff was super friendly, service was prompt. Wonderful local gastropub with a unique variety of beers that constantly change. I found my favorite stout here, a Canadian Breakfast Stout by Founders. That's a rare commodity, even when it was in production it was hard to get ahold of! Their food is delicious as well. I've had several things from here ranging from burgers, to mac and cheese, fries, chicken, etc. They don't disappoint, their food menu is as well-prepared and exotic as their tap list. I only ordered take out here BUT I noticed that when I picked up the food that they have an amazing beer selection! They also have outdoor booth seating (dog friendly). Menu was very unique - lots of cool inventive twists.
