    Pupusa with chicken and pork
    Nick F.

This was my first time having Salvadorian food. This place was not easy to fine but there is plenty of room inside. I was told by my coworkers that this place was pretty good. I've always heard of pupusas but never had a chance to try them until now. I got myself the pork and chicken with cheese pupusas. If you've never had pupusas before, it's like a stuffed pancake, and two is more than enough for a grown man. What also is crucial to have with it is the pickled cabbage and the tomato-based sauce that comes with it. It may seem like a weird combination but it actually works well and complements the dish. My coworkers also ordered pupusas and they also order fried plantains that came with a sour cream dip and what I only assume was a molé sauce. Turns out that sauce was made from a type of bean; nonetheless, I lost a bet and now I owe my coworker a beer LOL. I would have to try some different dishes before I give my full opinion about Salvadorian food. But as of right now I would call it pretty good.

Great ! Clean ! Wonderful service ! Wonderful food... hidden jewel , be careful .... it's carb overload but boy is it worth it !

Free starter tortilla strips and beans with cheese! Yum!!

Great tasty salvadorean food. Carne asada chorizo plate is the best! The mixed pupusas are excellent. Restaurant is recently remodeled, super clean, great service. Most soots give you stale chips, this place gives a fried thick tortilla strip with beans and salvadorean cheese. I come just for these bad boys! I'm a huge critic but this place gets me right in my tummy! Two thumbs up!

    Bistec encebollado! Bomb.

This is an established restaurant on Whittier Blvd in Pico Rivera just off the 605 fwy. It's…read morebetter to access the parking lot off Gregg Rd instead of the "main" entrance on Whittier which is easy to miss. Food is reasonably priced and tastes good. Obviously steaks but chicken and seafood are also ok the menu. We did the Sunday brunch for $49 which included bottomless mimosa, champagne, or fruit juices; a starter salad or parfait and a breakfast entree of your choice. I chose the sirloin steak and eggs. Very good value! Our server was excellent! She kept our drinks full and explained everything on the menu! She also went out of her way to meet all the requests from our large group (including our bill splitting request). Ambience is best described as dark. Not spooky or gothic; just no windows and lighting that requires you to use your phones as flashlights. For good food at a reasonable price with great service - highly recommended ; just bring a light with you.

Tiffany always gives quick, friendly, excellent service at the bar and knows how to make a great cocktail. Her knowledge is extensive and varied, and I've never heard her say she doesn't know how to make a drink, no matter what has been presented to her. Even when they're slammed, Tiffany has never been short or rude or grumpy towards me or any other customer that I've seen. 3) The food: classic, huge portions. I always have enough leftovers for a second meal later in the day or the following day. I love this establishment and hope it remains open for many more years!

When we pointed out that we had ordered regular fries, the waitress insisted they didn't even carry regular fries and said she had heard us order home-style fries, even though she had acknowledged our order twice when we placed it. That was frustrating. My husband also ordered a T-bone steak but was served a sirloin instead. As for my meal, I ordered the special omelet, and it was nothing special. It lacked flavor, and the cheese didn't complement the dish. The home-style potatoes were simply sliced potatoes that were overly greasy and dripping with oil. Overall, it was a very disappointing dining experience. I hope the restaurant pays closer attention to order accuracy, food quality, and the details that make for good customer service. Unfortunately, based on this visit, I don't plan on returning.

Our waitress, though I forgot her name, was exceptional. She greeted us when we sat at the table and gave us some good recommendations on what to try. I had the chilaquiles verdes with carne asada and they were really good! I don't usually have green chilaquiles but these were excellent. The salsa had the right amount of flavor in it paired with some potatoes and beans. I also felt it was a very big portion of food, especially for what we paid. I would say I definitely want to come back to try some of the other items on the menu here. The menu was massive with so many different things to try and it all looked really good. Everyone right down to the owner and the Bussers were super friendly and said goodbye to us as we left. It was a very heartwarming experience and that type of hospitality goes a really long way!

The pork in the chile verde was very tender, well-seasoned, and not dry at all. I could see why the chile verde is so popular here. For sides, I chose half beans and half country potatoes.
