I know a fried egg is good on top of tots, but here I like to order a fried egg separate along with a side of bacon or sausage. I also like to get the F.I.G.G. without a biscuit: bacon, arugula, fig preserves, and creamy brie. That plus tater tots plus a cocktail or two? A perfect breakfast or brunch, really. Well the the staff is short and rude, when they brought our drinks, they are basically " left is pineapple and right is orange". We went on a Saturday at 2pm and it wasn't busy, ordered a bacon egg and cheese, biscuit.., received my order with no bacon, when I took it back to the staff they just gave me a blank stare. After a good long awkward moment she took the order back and after me waiting there another staff member (the rude drink server) said " go sit down she will bring you your food" no apology or care given. When after five minutes they brought the corrected order, they added a lot of bacon to my partially eaten food. Still had my utensils in it and it looks like crap. The Hoss was a fried chicken biscuit with bacon, gravy, and honey butter. The Monte Cristo was a French toast biscuit that included ham, smoked turkey, and strawberry preserves. For those old enough to remember, it reminded me of the Monte Cristo from Bennigan's in the 1980's (IYKYK). Of the two, I liked the Monte Cristo better but both were decent. The tater tots were REALLY good. They had a slight peppery taste. I was dipping them in ranch. Delicious. The self-serve coffee was god-awful! Not much more than colored water. Very weak. I poured it out!! Disgusting!! Bottom line - Good food. Taste great. They are fast but I don't really consider it fast-food. Unique spin on the old-fashioned Southern biscuit. I was excited to try this place. I'd seen the great reviews for the Plano location and saw they had a one in Dallas which I was gonna check out pre-COVID. Now they have two locations in Dallas as well. Then a friend informed me they had just opened up one in Arlington, during COVID. I went to check it out last weekend as dine-in was now allowed. The restaurant is beautiful, they had one of those garage doors that rolls all the way on to the patio - unfortunately we came on a very wet rainy day and the door was still open randomly even though it was cold in the restaurant. All the staff were wearing masks, tables were blocked off to keep distancing guidelines in place. However, the service just wasn't there. The food was great, no doubt about it. But I just felt the staff didn't want us there, no one greeted us upon entry or when we left. We ordered alcoholic drinks with our biscuits and received a buzzer. Our food was brought to our table but no drinks, I asked the staff member and she said she'd check on our drinks but never came back. Bare in mind the restaurant was empty and we were only one of two tables there. My husband went to see where our drinks were and it looked as if they had just been sat in the well for a good ten minutes. No one informed us of the protocol whether we were suppose to pick up our own drinks or not, I still have no idea. The service here needs a lot of work, I didn't feel welcomed at all. The food was good, but overall I left the restaurant unhappy. I like a lot of sauce and wetness! We also got biscuit nuggets at the suggestion of my family. I found them to be very underwhelming. The nuggets are flat rectangular pieces of biscuit dough that are fried a little too crispy. They are served with a vanilla caramel, which we got a minimal drizzle of. That was disappointing. I would not order these again. For drinks, the wife ordered a mimosa which she didn't have but a couple of sips of. She did not like the OJ they used. I ordered a cereal sip, Cinnamon Toast Punch. I did NOT like mine. Apparently I don't enjoy Rumchata. That's nothing on the restaurant, just found out I didn't like it after paying for a drink. The chicken barely had any flavor on its own, much less heat. Also, the size left me hungry for a second biscuit. The biscuit texture was pretty solid on its own and I got a side of gravy which went well with it. We thought we'd go here for a brunch experience but we're in and out within 15 minutes, so I wouldn't recommend this place for a brunch ambiance. I will definitely need to come back back for their Mimosa BFF with a bottle of bubbly with two juices for the low price of $23. We didn't have to wait too long for our food and we must have just missed the brunch crowd as there was plenty of seating. Our food and drinks were brought to our table and we were approached atleast twice checking to see if there was anything needed. Our food was delicious and I was pleasantly surprised how moist the biscuits were. The chicken biscuit sandwich could have used extra gravy as the amount put was just a tease on your taste buds. The sausage biscuit had an undescribeable cheesy sauce that was such a savoring flavor to a breakfast sandwich. The cheese sauce also took center stage in the Tater tots. The location is prime real estate and is surrounded by equally good restaurants with plenty of parking.
