I like Biscuit Bar's food, but this location needs to be knocked down for its terrible COVID-19 practices. Though the restaurant is legally required to be at only 50% capacity, it is not enforcing this on the patio, nor is it ensuring that people are standing 6 feet apart in line. The patio and the line were ridiculously crowded. Even inside, just trying to get water I was bumped into. Any tables that did become available weren't cleaned, of course. I won't be back to this location for the near future. The idiots running this place are part of why all restaurants will probably be forced to shut down again completely. Don't let them. Go to places that have safe, legally compliant practices. read more

Biscuits galore. A newer restaurant located on the Boardwalk at 121 & DNT, Biscuit Bar has been popping up all in my social media feeds. A smart concept taking the humble biscuit and dressing it up any which way you want, be that with fried chicken, fruit preserves, bacon, and more fried chicken. The most popular options seem to be the HOSS and the Chicken & Not a Waffle. Three of the four of us that went ordered the HOSS if that tells you anything- fried chicken, bacon, gravy, honey butter all on a freshly made biscuit? Ingredients wise it doesn't get much better. Pair that with some loaded tots or sweet potato tots (I opted for the latter) and you have a nice meal. In terms of portion you will probably need to order a biscuit and a side to be satisfied, the HOSS is the most expensive at $8 plus $4 for a side. Not ridiculous but also not the best cost to portion size ratio. I liked the HOSS and sweet potato tots a lot, the only critique is that with a biscuit that advertises both gravy and honey butter I thought it was a bit on the dry side, not too dry but could've used a little more gravy imo. Also my chicken was noticeably bigger than my friends (no complaints for me but can't say the same for my friend). Overall a cool new spot for people who love a good biscuit, bonus is that while in line you can watch them mixing the dough from scratch. We had a really bad experience here Saturday morning. There was no ice and it was over 90 degrees outside. The inside tables were full so no one on the patio had cold drinks. Everyone was complaining because they had all paid for drinks but no one mentioned the issue when ordering. There was a sign taped to the fountain drink dispenser that the ice machine wasn't working. But the fountain drinks were coming out hot and with no carbonation. Basically, hot and flat soda. So people were lining up at the bar just just get cups filled with ice. And the bartender was so overwhelmed that she couldn't keep up. They seemed to be short staffed and totally unprepared for a busy weekend. I asked a server if we could speak to a manager but she said that the manager had already been told of the situation numerous times. I'm not sure why no one was offered a refund or even an apology? If a manager had even stepped outside to apologize to all the customers or say that they were working on it, it would have smoothed over the situation. Perhaps a bunch of guys sitting down north of Celina TX wearing their John Deere caps discussing the weather and the Farm Bill that goes before Congress this week. Uh No. This is a big, modern first class restaurant that only serves biscuit creations. Could this work? You bet. My wife is out of town and she would not want anything involving biscuits for dinner. So I gave this a try, selecting a biscuit sandwich that includes blue cheese ( I love blue cheese), chicken and some of their 'tots". Really good. I sat at the end of their bar and noticed one of the owners sitting nearby at a cutout in the bar set up so he can get a good view of the restaurant and use a laptop out of sight of the patrons. We struck up a conversation and he told me his favorite dish growing up was biscuits and gravy. His wife is the culinary person here and he is an ex-financial executive. This is their first restaurant. The couple sitting next to me asked him about the risk of being in the restaurant business. He replied that he did a lot of research before opening this concept, including discussions with the people who started Chipolte. I asked him about the design of the restaurant, which is impressive. The design firm also did the new Legacy Hall and Legacy West and many other high end concepts in our area. He expects to have breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night business. Makes sense. The only issue might be that they only serve meals including biscuits. No other choices for the person in the party that wants something else. So far, this is not a problem and they are very busy on a weeknight, as are the other restaurants overlooking the lake at Granite Park. The staff is great. We ordered 2 biscuits, tots, biscuit nuggets, and 2 cocktails totaling $40. Food came out within 15 minutes, but our drink order was lost - we had to reorder and wait after almost finishing the meal. Given all the great reviews, I was super excited to eat here. I love biscuits, I love breakfast, I wanted to love this place, but sadly, it wasn't great. The girl who took our order seemed annoyed that we were there. We mentioned it was our first time and we weren't sure how it worked with the seating and the COVID and she gave us a blunt, callous "okay" with a shrug. No explanation of seating or how their ordering process worked, no desire to be bothered by us. Fine, I was there for the biscuits anyway, right? Dry and flavorless, except for the slightly stale taste and the overwhelming salt. My husband's chicken breast was burnt. Like it had been fried once, and then fried again kind of burnt. And it tasted like that too. My husband is a chef so he recognized that fried-again taste. The French toast style biscuit was okay, but also a little burnt. The breakfast tots were a bummer too. Again, so much salt. The tots were undercooked, so they were more mushy than crispy, and the home made cheese sauce was oddly separating. We chose to sit inside the restaurant since the patio was full. We were the only people inside. Lots of waitstaff around. I love their biscuit. It's soft, flaky, and the outter crust is crunchy. The thing is huge though and I felt bad for throwing away what I couldn't finish. The HOSS was amazing. I loved the sausage gravy and will probably just get biscuit and gravy next time. The Fancy Chicken tasted a lot like Chick-fil-A. Both orders were incredibly salty to me. Their fried chicken is very mediocre - not juicy, but not dry either. I didn't like the sweet potato tots. They were not crunchy, but soft and pliable. It was weird, but the house made ranch that came with it was good. They have fancy soda fountain drinks that I personally find offensive. I should have looked before ordering a drink! People need to stop ruining sodas by trying to make them healthy. I sat outside because a beautiful day in Texas should not be wasted indoors! Just stopped by for a taste. Ordered biscuits & sausage gravy and tots southern style. Both of which were good! Tots were crispy, topped with cheddar, green onions, bacon, and country gravy. Southern/Texas-style Tots Poutine. Super yummy. Biscuits and gravy were also excellent. The sausage gravy is made well, smooth consistency, not too thick, ample amounts of sausage. The biscuit beneath the gravy was slightly crispy on the top half but moist the rest of the way through; could be more flakey, kind of on the dense side. This is such a great concept! We dropped in for breakfast for dinner. Nothing better than Biscuit French Toast and some tots before bedtime! Super sweet and tasty!! Wow, I was really expecting good food with all of these ratings. Not only was the food not appealing, the restaurant was filthy. I almost slipped on the floor because it was greasy. I want to like this place however today was my 4th time here. The 1st time the food was perfect and everything as ordered. The 2nd and 3rd times I asked for no bacon on my salad and ended up getting them with it on. They apologized and made new ones. Today I did an online order for 2 salads both with no bacon and both had bacon. I went there when there was not a single person eating so it wasn't a rush hour mistake it was a lazy mistake. The salads that were remade were half the side (side salad size) and they forgot the onions and croutons. I understand staffing shortages but when I go there and there's not a single person eating or ordering I would expect my order to be correct and also worth the money as my previous salads had been. The food took a bit longer than it should have, but we'll leave that to new restaurant working out kinks. My egg was a tad bit undercooked for my liking...the white in some areas was still a good bit runny. Most of the sandwich was fully cooked, so it wasn't much of a problem. The tots fell apart a little too easily but other than that, absolutely no complaints - Biscuit & Sausage Gravy: the menu has so many delicious sounding options, but I opted for something simple because I really wanted to see how the flavor were and this did not disappoint. The biscuit is perfection - it's super rich and flavorful, yet still very light (I do NOT like dense biscuits). I went to the Biscuit Bar in Plano today. I would like to start by saying the food and drinks were absolutely amazing but AWFUL management. At the Plano location on the entrance, the wood floor has a slope and I slipped and fell injuring my knee ankle elbow and wrist. I was unfortunately not the first or last person to fall in that very spot today alone. The first fall probably has similar injuries and I wouldn't be surprised if you here from them soon. We alerted the staff about the problem and they said they had already goalies to management about this today. The table next to us witnessed other falls prior to my arrival and said they asked for a sign to be put up but nothing had been done. At this moment I asked to speak with the manager my self and let him know I had fallen and I'm suspecting my ankle may be sprained. He came out rudely I told him what had happened and he said "I'm not required to do anything about that" i told him I think my ankle may be sprained and he shrugged his shoulders and said "well, there's nothing I can do" I then asked for the corporate number and address and he said "I am corporate" I said ok I'll have my lawyer find this information for me. He then walked away. The table of ladies who were sitting next to us stopped him as he walked away and told him they had witnessed my fall, and another less than half an hour prior and they themselves also almost fell to the ground but caught themselves before it happened. He came back a few minutes later with an ipad saying well I can file an incident report. I said to him I thought he wasn't required to do so. He then said "well done the other table mentioned it I will" The ladies at the table said that he only took them seriously because they were white and I agree. They suggest that I escalate this situation as high as possible. So I would like to have a conversation with whomever is in charge of these stores. The manager's name is Saleh. read more

Huge fan of the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuits as a favorite. They use cheese sauce instead of shredded or sliced cheese and it is the BEST. I understand that Texas is it's own entity and not really considered "Southern" but I've had high exceptions for biscuits here and nowhere has hit those expectations. We will add Biscuit Bar to the list. My husband and I stopped here on Sunday morning for a biscuit and a biscuit we got. I got the Nashville Hot Chicken Biscuit and it was sopping in sauce that made the bottom biscuit unappetizing to eat. I'm not a biscuit connoisseur but think it would have been better with some kind of buffer in between chicken and biscuit. On a more positive note, the tots were stellar and they have indoor and outdoor seating. Cute place to check out but keep those biscuit expectations low like booty will be after eating biscuits. read more
