We were visiting Crystal River for the weekend, and wanted breakfast/brunch food before heading out. We had a short wait and were seated in about 10 minutes. The Biscuit Barn delivered! The grits and biscuits were delicious. The biscuits were golden brown, soft on the inside, and perfectly paired with the sausage gravy. The grits were also very well made, and perfect in the bowl! Three complaints: (1) parking was limited but definitely of size for the seats available in the restaurant; (2) the coffee was WAY too strong, bitter, and lacking normal coffee notes; and (3) they added a restaurant fee on the ticket. Still, we'd go again!

We are regulars now, and Barb is out favorite waitress. This is the epitome of homestyle comfort foods for breakfast, especially their huge biscuits when hot and fresh. It is pire heaven when slathered with butter. I love their 4 egg.omlets and my hubby is a fan of the clucker sammich. Their food is made to order and delicious.. Dont forget to try a cinnamon roll!

We had breakfast here today and had great service and the food was yummy. We had a hidden menu grits bowl that they were able to customize, Philly cheesesteak omelette that was fluffy and delicious and the eggs benny. The waitress was very attentive and are coffee was always warmed up. This is a warm and welcoming cute place that is deceiving with a somewhat small parking lot that makes it feel like there is a wait. We were pleasantly surprised to get a table. OH let's not forget how tasty the biscuits are-so light and fluffy. This is always a stop when we visit

Giving the the biscuit barn four stars with one major caveat- what they call sausage gravy has no sausage in it... absolutely no meat that I could see or taste. Other than that, it was a great local joint that we stopped by while viewing the manatees my biscuit with ham cheese and egg was delicious and the hashbrowns cooked just the way I like them. My wife also enjoyed her breakfast. We will go back if we are in Crystal River again I just will stay away from anything that says biscuits and gravy.

We had breakfast here before heading home from a weekend in Crystal River. I was sold after reading there was an option between grits, home fries, hashbrowns, and hashbrowns patties. And my husband was sold because biscuits was in the name of the restaurant. The biscuits definitely did not disappoint. One of the best biscuits I've tasted in a while and I was a bit jealous since I chose wheat toast. The gravy for the biscuit was pretty good too. Can't go wrong with breakfast at this place. Was super busy when we arrived, but the place is bigger than it looks so we were seated right away. It's a diner and it looks and feels like one. Exactly what you would expect from a place called The Biscuit Barn.

Came to this diner due to all the great reviews and pictures taken. It is a little hole in the wall diner (I expected it already to be good). Husband and I were craving a really good breakfast. We both got the barn biscuit and it did not disappoint. At first I put the gravy on the side (I'm picky with my gravy) so I tried it before smothering it in my biscuit. LET ME TELL YOU.. that is some of the best gravy I've had my entire life! The biscuit was fluffy and buttery. Eggs were good as well!! I will be back here when I'm on vacation again. Waitress was extremely helpful and nice.

Holy deliciousness - This place has amazing biscuits!!! Traveling through town and it was our first time visiting. We were on the hunt for breakfast burritos (which are oddly hard to find in the area besides a chain restaurant called Breakfast Station) and this place popped up. From the outside, we were skeptical and my husband almost pulled out of the parking lot. Glad we stuck it out - The burritos were really good, the service was excellent and the environment was an all welcoming. A quaint little mom and pop, family friendly, community supported eatery. Def stop here for some good grub if passing through. If we lived nearby, we'd be regulars!

Quite literally my favorite place to eat in all of town. That's no joke. Every time I'm in town I HAVE to go there!!! I always get the Barnyard breakfast with ham, grits, eggs over medium and a biscuit. YOU HAVE TO GET THE FRIED OKRA!!! I'm obsessed! I throw butter and honey all over my biscuit! Heaven! The staff are all so sweet! I witnessed their professionalism with a customer that was suuuuper rude too! Such a cute little homie spot that's clean and cozy! Can't wait to go back!

Great breakfast spot in Crystal River. Had to do the Biscuits and gravy with my eggs. Simple, but excellent. My buddy Bobby B. had a huge omelet. Two coffees and on our way to Gainesville. Perfect!

Probably one of the best diner breakfasts I've ever had! My boyfriend and I stopped here on our way out of FL and I'm happy to say this was the last little breakfast spot on our radar. If you're in Crystal River, this place is a must. The biscuits are . If you get a biscuit sandwich, get it smothered. You won't regret it. We got the BEC, and country fried steak sandwich. They were the best biscuit sandwiches I've had in a while. read more

Simple but perfect. This is what all diners should aspire to be like, really well cooked food, great service, good coffeeand laidback atmosphere. Not to mention, the biscuits will change your life (in a good way). We got two Biscuit Barn Specials that included 2 eggs, 2 sausages, 3 pieces of bacon, choice of grits, home fries, or hashbrowns, and choice of biscuit or toast for 9.99. The price was fair for sure. We stopped by on a Saturday morning for breakfast and were seated right away. We ordered coffee and water to start. The coffee was very smooth and great tasting. We ordered the scramble with only veggies and a biscuit and the 2 egg breakfast with crispy corn beef hash and grits. We also ordered the sausage gravy. The food was all really great until I found a hair on my plate. I brought it to the waitress attention and told her I did not want a replacement. They took my breakfast to 1/2 price. At the checkout I told the cashier what happen and she asked if the owner had come and spoken to us. He had not. When he did come over he said because half was eatten it was half price. In my opinion as someone who works in the food industry that is bad customer service. It should have been totally removed from bill. Therefore between the hair and how it was handled the 1 star rating. read more

We ate this morning at the Bisuit Barn in Crystal River, Fl. Best breakfast I have had in about a year. Our server was part of the highlight of the meal. Her kidding was spot n and her service always with a smile and laughter. People like her make or break a meal as far as I am concerned. We are only here for the next few days but we may be heading back there on our last day here., thanks to the personality of our server. And a big shout out to the cinnamon bun she brought out to the car as we were leaving as they had been out when we ordered. read more

My mother insisted we go here when I was down in Florida visiting. Breakfast options aren't hard to come by around here, but this one stands out above the rest. Had the southwestern burrito and OMG it was amazing. Will definitely be going back the next time I visit my parents. read more

Definitely recommend! We got our to go because it was crowded inside. We stopped by here after a recommendation from Birds Underwater and really enjoyed it! I got a biscuit with sausage, egg, and cheese and grilled home fries. Both were great but I wouldn't recommend the cheese, I think it's velvetta and that's not my jam. My boyfriend tried the southwestern burrito with fried home fries. Burrito was SO GOOD we both preferred the grilled potatoes. We also tried the apple fritters that are made to order and wow they're yummy. They aren't a big fritter but are instead bite-ish sized ones. read more

Always ask about the specials - Otherwise you might miss something 'Ahhh-mazing' like I almost did today. I shared these two pictured specials with my wife and was so glad I tried both. Do not miss this if you are in the area visiting. I am so happy we went. The friendliest service ever. The biscuits we the fluffiest most amazing I have ever had. A recommendation from our manatee tour guide for breakfast after our swim. It was great. Friendly service in a neighborhood diner. The biscuits are fluffy and fresh and food is cooked to order. We ate here twice during our visit. The portions are large and filling. We had fried steak and egg biscuit, a breakfast platter with bacon, sausage, eggs and home fries and French toast during our visits. No complaints about anything we ordered it was all hot, fresh and perfectly prepared. Good food and friendly service. read more

When we went to order drinks, the bartender refused to serve us, claiming our IDs had "scanned as fake." When we questioned that, we were then told they didn't actually have an ID scanner. We even offered to have local law enforcement verify that our IDs were legitimate, but they still refused to serve us. We completely understand the importance of checking IDs and appreciate that businesses have to be cautious. However, being given conflicting explanations and feeling like our valid out of state IDs were dismissed without a legitimate verification process was frustrating and embarrassing. If there is an official policy regarding South Carolina IDs, it should be clearly communicated. If there isn't, I hope management addresses this so other visitors with valid out of state identification don't have the same experience.

Been here 3 times, as soon as I walk in the door today, offered coffee and had a great cherry waffle with whipped cream and bacon. So full, will probably skip lunch! And the service is excellent too! My friend had a tuna melt, which is her favorite meal for lunch and a side of onion rings. The sandwich came out nicely toasted with melted cheese and a thick layer of tuna salad. The onion rings were beautifully fried with real onion rings inside a crispy brown coating; she usually shares the onion rings with me but she must have been so hungry and they were so tasty, that she ate them all by herself! We then had to decide from a long list of desserts, including, pies, muffins and cakes. We split a slice of coconut meringue pie, which was quite heavenly! We come through this area quite a bit, so we will definitely return.
