Pitiful. Very unorganized. Shouldn't take 15m for an iced coffee and have people behind me get orders before me.

Michael Warring provides an elevated tasting menu experience without being pretentious or stuffy. I loved the open kitchen and getting to see him at work with his wife! Chef Michael Warring has a way of creating delicious dishes with unique ingredients and complex flavors. His wife was also very kind and attentive when serving everyone in the restaurant. It was just a great experience overall, getting to see each dish being cooked while enjoying each dish. And the meal was very filling!

Food was quite good, good range on the menu, good presentation, and impressive for the price, wine pairing was decent. Ambiance was ok, a smaller restaurant and a bit run down, not polished as one would expect from a starred restaurant but again this is much cheaper so I give that a pass bc the food was great. Service was ok, again not starred and cheaper. For example towards the last few glasses of wine the glass was given without even saying what it was (which I can obv look it up but is a nice touch when someone explains how the chef intends to eat the course or where the wine is from). I do understand that it was prob bc it was just the chef and his wife working so they certainly can't be doing the level of service (or charge for that) that a starred restaurant offers. I still highly recommend this restaurant for the food and the price point. I've certainly had worse for more (including at starred restaurants)

That said, I'm so glad they expanded to this new location. We've gone twice so far. The restaurant is always full with a few open tables, so we've never had to wait to be seated. Food is excellent! I had the homemade corned beef and the also the Korean short ribs on separate visits. Both dishes were great. It's not just your typical American brunch menu. They have Filipino, Korean, and Hawaiian (Loco Moco) options too. LOVE that! Service is good. Restaurant is clean. Their seats have comfy pillows on them. Definitely a great restaurant to patronize in Vallejo.

Everyone seems to know everyone which also adds a bit to the good vibes this place has. We went on a Thursday around 11am and it wasn't super packed and there was no wait. The servers really checked up and were attentive to all of our needs from start to finish. Was very quick and efficient cause this was a stop on the way to six flags for a day. I am a big fan of pancakes and my partner loves waffles so we caved in on our favorites. They were so delicious, fluffy and buttery. The table comes with maple syrup, jellies, and sugar/ salt/ pepper and ketchup and hot sauces. We chose scrambled eggs and extra crispy bacon which gave me homestyle cooking. Overall not many complaints, it was a solid place to eat and would come back

If you're looking for the kind of dinner that makes you want to cancel your other weekend plans…read morejust so you can go back, Baxters is it. Tucked right on First Street across from the bay in downtown Benicia, this place has completely earned its reputation as the town's culinary crown jewel. From the moment you walk in, the warmth is unmistakable -- and it's not an accident. Owners Kenneth Coker and Kevin Shaw built this restaurant to feel like their own living room, and it shows in every detail, right down to the name (a sweet nod to their beloved Fox Terrier). That personal touch translates into genuinely attentive service that never feels stiff or rehearsed. Now, the food. The Beef Wellington is the stuff of legend -- perfectly rendered pastry, a filling that melts before you even chew, and clearly a labor of love from the kitchen. The scallops are seared to that impossible perfection where the outside caramelizes but the inside stays buttery-soft. And if salmon gnocchi in vodka sauce is on the menu when you go, order it without hesitation -- it's rich, comforting, and impossible to stop eating. Even the truffle burger, which almost feels like an afterthought on a menu this elevated, has become a neighborhood obsession for good reason. Cocktails are crafted with the same care as the food -- inventive, well-balanced, and clearly the product of a team that takes its bar program seriously. And if you can snag a reservation in The Speakeasy, the intimate back room, do it. It's easily one of the most romantic, memorable settings for a special occasion in the entire Bay Area. Baxters isn't just a great restaurant -- it's a genuine gathering place, the kind of spot a whole town falls in love with. Whether it's date night, a family celebration, or just a nightcap at the bar, Baxters delivers an experience that's warm, delicious, and utterly memorable every single time. Highly, highly recommended.

Not a lot of restaurants offer beef wellington on their menu, so that was definitely a huge reason why I wanted to try Baxters out, and it did not disappoint. Perfectly cooked filet mignon at medium rare wrapped in flaky puff pastry and luscious duxelles. While I felt the quantity of roasted veggies and mashed potatoes on the side were not enough to balance out the dish. I also tried the skillet corn bread and the gnocchi with salmon. The pasta dish surprisingly had a generous quantity of salmon throughout the dish and the gnocchi were soft and fluffy.

Review #1,101 Posted on 8.18.26…read more The rare double visit occurred for my first time visiting this Yard House. We came here for lunch for our work summer party on Thursday August 6th, then came back a 2nd time a few hours later for happy hour after our work event ended. The food was good. They did an excellent job getting us all set up with a lunch for about 40 people, and had the food and seating chart all ready to roll. Now the seats were insanely cramped for the lunch. It was at 12 pm on the dot I believe, and they had the food delivered to the table right on cue. But we were all rubbing elbows at the table, you could hardly move, maybe adding a table or 2 solves that. The happy hour experience was awesome, server was on top of everything, and we had some good grub and drinks. Would 100% return.

We drove an hour because of all the happy-hour deals and TikTok hype, but honestly, don't believe the hype! The lemonades tasted like water, the raspberry lemonade was barely pink, the server had to replace them and then realized,"it might be out of juice" soda only options. Everyones food arrived and I waited till it was time to go and had to ask my server where my nachos was for them to come out. I had to ask a server multiple times, and when they finally arrived, the chicken was dry, bland, and completely flavorless. I barely even ate it. The pepperoni pizza and chicken strips were good, and my husband's buffalo chicken bites were probably the best thing we ordered. The carnivore pizza, though, was just a pile of meat with no flavor. The birthday dessert they brought for my daughter was cute and she loved it, so that was a nice touch. The bill was under $70 for five people, so the price was good. I'd say the $7-$9 happy-hour items are probably worth it, but you get what you pay!!! An to believe they charge regular prices for these items not on happy hour is insane!! I wouldn't recommend it. Great staff, nice atmosphere, good prices -- but the food was dry, bland, and definitely not worth driving an hour for. Honestly, I'd rather eat microwaved food at Applebee's .
