The reason why this place isn't rated higher is because of the service speed. When I ordered, it took about 20 minutes for my sandwich to come out and I was the only person dining there... I ordered the Madison bumgarner. I am on a low carb diet so I asked for it to be in a bowl. I said no lettuce because I don't get lettuce in my sandwich. They still charged the same price even without the bread, but whatever. I paid 15.50 for it. Then paid 2.95 for double the meat. So 18.45 for this. They said they usually fill the bowl with lettuce. I spent a few hours in Vallejo and took a trip to Ike's. I have never been to this location. It's on the same shopping center as Ulta, Panera Bread, to name a few. It takes awhile to wait for someone to take your oder at the register (Due to the employee helping to make sandwiches). Once I placed my order, it was a long wait. There were a few customers waiting for their orders, but, no one ahead of me to order, when I arrived. I ordered the menage a trois on sourdough, with jalapeno chips and a cherry vanilla soda(combo meal). The Menage A Trois was good! It could have used more chicken and a lot less lettuce. It was sweet from the honey, savory from the honey mustard and the cheddar cheese. Although service was slow, the food was delicious, and there was plenty of open tables when I came by. Got a ménage a trois sandwich on their "phantom" Halloween theme Dutch crunch. & it was super dissapointing despite it being one of their popular options. The bread to filling ratio was questionable. When looking up sandwiches on social media, they definitely do not have as much bread as mine does. I love Dutch crunch but not this much.. the texture of the chicken threw me off also because it reminds me of scrambled eggs. I didn't even bother eating the second half lol. I give 3 stars because we love Ike's and come her every week. We order the same thing and some employees recognize us. 2 Jim Romes, French bread, no veggies, and no avocado on 1 of them. Matt Cain just as it comes with veggies on French bread. 1 Jim Rome came with everything 1 Jim Rome came with no veggies+avacodo, and loaded with jalapeños which ended up in my kids sandwich which burned her mouth. 1 Matt Cain with no veggies and we asked for it just as it comes on fence with veggies. After I gave my kid my sandwich, I East hers the next day. Half way through my mouth was burning and I don't mind spicy stuff but I opened her sandwich and found jalapeños mixed into the avacodo. Frisbie - missing tomato, no extra dirty sauce on the side Adam Richmond - no avocado and no dirty sauce inside the sandwich (both of which are default ingredients), no extra dirty sauce on the side, super dry because lack of sauce If I wasn't so hungry, I probably would've given it 1 star. This is my go to spot for Ikes loves and possibly my favourite location. I tried the menagais trois and not a fan sorry. I always order the Matt Cain though on dutch crunch. Always been a hit everytime I've ordered at this specific location (except for during the pandemic not sure what was up with the dutch crunch) But shout out to the current staff and management for making bomb sandwiches, in a timely manner, you guys are awesome!! I usually use this location a stop for lunch between Sacramento and Oakland. Not anymore. This Saturday, 4/27 was the end for me. I walk in with my wife, no one says anything to us for a few minutes as they are listening to music super loud, dancing and singing along. When someone does notice us standing at the register, they decide to stand there as well, but they don't say anything until we do. He just stared at us. Once we got our order placed and paid, which was not the same as the prices on the board because pricing is "under construction" we wait about ten minutes to get our sandwiches. During this time the older woman with bad tattoo choices making our sandwiches apparently brought her kid to work and he liked to touch everything, run behind the counter and ride his razor scooter in and out of the building. This meant the woman had to reprimand her kid while making our sandwiches. I happened to make eye contact during this and she did not appreciate that. When our sandwiches were ready she walked up to us, eyeballed us and held out the bag and dead eyed us and then walked away. The initial plan like always, was to sit there and eat and then continue our journey. This of course didn't happen due to 1. The music being uncomfortably loud 2. The kid running around the store like he was hopped up on espresso 3. The work release nature of the staff who were seemingly mad that we interrupted their dance party. Also the bread was stale and the they didn't put any condiments on our sandwiches. The fact that we get this for delivery in Benicia is one of the small positives of covid. Doordash used to suck before covid went down. We only had like 10-15 places to choose from. Now there is more like 50 and Ikes is one of them. This place never gets old too. You can always count on getting a good sandwich at Ikes. Recently I ordered the Mare Island which is basically the Vegan version of the Call me Slurricane. OoooOoooo... I don't even know how they do the Vegan Chicken and I don't even need to know. Since I was in the area I was able to just pick it up. He tried calling the store to change his delivery order to pick up but they didn't answer and the app told him to contact grub hub. I easily walked in and was greeted by the friendly workers during Sunday around noon. They easily were able to adjust my order. I then checked in on Yelp and was able to get a free back of chips! They were fast and efficient, my brother was able to get a refund for the delivery fee ($8.00) from grub hub. The only reason why I gave Ike's 4 stars is because the sandwich with delivery would have almost cost $30, so that's quite expensive for a sandwich for me. read more

I love Ike's and their sandwiches. However, this location in particular always manages to screw my orders. Last time I ordered (last week) the manager kept on trying to add his damn jalapeños and banana peppers onto all my sandwiches. I told him no I just want what's on the sandwich plus the add on I did want, which was artichoke hearts. Not only did I end up with both my damn sandwiches with his add ons (which I didn't want EVER!). But I also ended up with purple Dutch crunch, which I NEVER gave consent to. He never asked me if I wanted regular Dutch crunch or their special one. This type of scenario happens all the time at this location. They really have pay some attention to orders and not force extras on to their customs food. Other than that, I'm still a loyal Ike's customer, just wish the service was better. read more

Here's my 2nd review of this Ike's location and it's not good. I ordered a Matt Cain (1 sandwich) at 11:42am today. It was ready at 12:07pm. 25 minutes for ONE sandwich. What really made me mad...some lady came in and ordered 2 sandwiches AFTER me and got her food first. And when I got my food, not even an apology or acknowledgment for the wait. When I walked in and saw 3 other people waiting for sandwiches with frustrated looks on their faces, I knew I should've gone some place else. Each person was also missing a piece of their order as well and had to go back and have an employee fix it. My sandwich was subpar too, compared to other locations. Bread was barely toasted. Meat wasn't even that warm. Damn. No sandwich should take 25 minutes with 4 people working!! Efficiency, attention to detail, and service is totally lacking here. Except for the girl who was working, she at least saw my frustration and followed up with my order. Other than her, the other 3 workers looked like they didn't even want to be there. And their POS system has the nerve to ask for a tip when you pay up front? Nah, that should be reserved for after the service is complete. Based on recent reviews, it looks like I'm not alone when it comes to experiencing the lack of speed and service. Dear Jessica, the business owner who is likely to reply to this. No need to reply to me. No need for me to go to the Ike's website to "make it right". You just need to physically walk into this place and teach your employees how to work! Establish a process and set standards. If this location closes, it'll be because of a lack of management. Stop replying to online reviews thinking it will make us happy.
