Legit Korean food in Fairbanks. Restaurant is now called "TOGO" I highly recommend this place for authentic Korean food in Fairbanks.

Came to eat here yesterday and it was soo dope. I he good is plenty enough to share. You won't be disappointed. When i come back into town I'll be hitting this up again.

Not many Korean options in Fairbanks .. I was pretty disappointed with the food here. Hole in the wall looking place with nice staff. There's about 10 tables inside total with two servers and our food took over an hour. We ordered soondooboo (spicy soft tofu stew) which came with a raw egg you are supposed to crack into a boiling pot and it should be hot enough to somewhat cook the egg. However, our soup was not hot at all. Egg rolls were drenched in grease. Kalbi was almost $50 and had absolutely no Kalbi marinade and was so chewy-just tasted like plain bbq beef. They put rice cakes in their soups and dishes such as spicy pork bulgogi which is weird and not authentic/traditional Korean. We did go there on a Friday night and they close at 7:30pm which I found odd. They did turn away many groups while we were dining. I would personally never visit this restaurant again. As a Korean, I am truly disappointed. Waste of appetite and money.

    Crab stew.

Came here for a dinner around 7pm. The place was PACKED! And there was really just one waitress (maybe she was a co-owner?) serving the guests. This definitely felt like the game Diner Dash, where the waitress was doing the best she could to get to everyone as quickly as possible. She didn't seem too friendly, but then again, if I were in the same high-pressure situation, I'd be just doing my best to keep up the tempo too! We ordered the crab stew since I had never tried this before. Not even sure that this is a Korean specialty. It arrived in a hot pot on top of a propane burner and looked rather interesting. Spicy broth with crab, daikon, ramen, big glutinous noodles, and tofu, all for $56. We agreed that this could easily serve 3 or 4 people, given the sheer quantity of starches in the soup. The crab, most unfortunately, was flakey/powdery, to the point of definitely being unfresh. I wouldn't be surprised if this was frozen crab. Also, in Alaska, I expected crab that was a bit more local -- perhaps Alaskan king crab, or dungeness, but instead, these were the tiny blue crabs, again, not fresh. We did have about 5 or 6 of these crabs in the stew, but it was so hard to get to the meat, which was barely existent. I wish they would just have one fresh large crab instead of 5 or 6 small ones. We would've been happy to trade off quantity for quality. The most disappointing part was getting the check, which, hubbie noticed, was higher than we would have expected with a $56 price tag. Turns out that the tip was already added in. Yes, it was just a 15% tip, and we typically tip more than 15%, but this was done under the radar, silently, and we almost missed it, in which case we would've tipped even more. Reading Yelp, this seems to be a typical thing for a lot of restaurant here at Fairbanks. How could this possibly be acceptable? I understand mandatory service charges, but in those situations, this is prominently displayed on menus or clarified prior to ordering. To simply write in your own tip right before we swipe the credit card seems downright shady to me. Not to mention we didn't once get our water refilled, despite the glasses sitting empty for at least thirty minutes. The food here is passable, the service is poor, and well.. the underhandedness of the tipping is definitely going to ensure we DO NOT RETURN.

We found this restaurant almost by accident but surprisingly found it very satisfying. The side dishes were great. Service was good. And entrees were decent and authentic. The owner lady was friendly. Good spot if you want to switch taste and have some Korea food in Fairbanks.

seafood pot the pot seems bigger but is shallow. we have three people and does not seems enough for us alone.

we ordered the seafood pot and found the none of the seafood inside is fresh. No refill of the water during our time here and the servant seems rude and not speak fluent English. I do not recommend this place

Small portions, but the food had good flavor. Not much service, and the prices seemed on the high side.

Only thing was that the first night the soybean stew had small whole fish in it which added umami flavor wonderfully! And the second night, the soybean stew had beef in it, rather than fish. Very disappointing dining experience…read more The food was average at best and definitely overpriced. We ordered the ginseng chicken soup, but it had no ginseng in it and no ginseng flavor at all. The restaurant also smelled strongly of cooking oil as soon as we walked in, and our table was uneven. The service was unacceptable. We politely asked the staff to place the dishes in the center of the table so everyone could share, but they ignored our request and scattered the dishes around the table instead. They even placed extremely hot dishes right next to guests, making them awkward and unsafe to handle. The female server had a very unfriendly attitude and acted as if she didn't want to serve us. When we asked for a serving spoon to share the food, they refused to provide one, which was surprising for a restaurant serving shared dishes. Average food, poor service, and high prices. There are many better options. We definitely won't be coming back.

Waitress warned me that it would take a while and I could either take a seat or wait in my car (it's a rental and I'm from SoCal during October early snow weather). So I chose the former. I only really looked at the front portion of the restaurant. Didn't seem too busy but one of the higher rated KFC spots and that was my craving. Plus, I went ahead and ordered for to-go since I wasn't too hungry and was more in preparation for the season's first snowstorm. Seemed like any other small restaurant layout with booth seating on the outskirts. Fried chicken smelled good once I walked in. Now the food itself: I appreciate how it wasn't overly sauced so the crisp wasn't completely gone by the time I took a quick bite for the night. I'm sure it would've been better straight out of the fryer. All pieces were still juicy. So overall very much up to par. Just not top tier. Before I got out of my car, a Transient came up to my car door to ask for something. As a solo traveler, I respectfully shook my head at him. He went into the shop next door. As this is in their downtown area, not surprising to have such an interaction. Unfortunately that lowers their rating though.
