I really didn't think too much of this place. I got breakfast from here - 3 bagels. First, their bagel selection was alright, but I made the mistake of ordering the wrong kind and having them "warm up" my bagel. My cheddar bagel was nothing more than a plain bagel with a slice of cheese melted/baked onto the top. I had to pay extra for this, mind you. I couldn't taste any cheddar. When they "warmed it up," all they did was toast it, so it largely lost the soft texture I wanted. For all this, I had to wait a lot longer than I should have, given there was only one group of 4 in front of me in line. Also our 3 sad bagels were like $16. I would not go here again. read more

This just was gross and overpriced. Went through the drive thru to get a quick bite. Ordered the breakfast wrap with turkey sausage and just some ice water. It took a bit to get it, but it came with the pre-cooked eggs that seem to be what coffee stands all sell now. It was completely tasteless. And the whole thing cost me $11. Boyfriend came into town to visit with my while I'm here for work. We came here cause we love a good bagel... We had to get the Salmon Bagel since it made us think of our time in Kauai. Needless to say boyfriend only had 1 caper on his half and I had none.... Bagel was so tough it became unbearable to chew. Also wasn't fond of how 3 making the good had their hair loose and around their face.... Didn't remember seeing the onions either.... What a great find!! After a disappointing night at a nearby hotel my guests and I were looking for a quick bite and coffee before embarking on our 6 hour journey! To kick off , the shop was warm , inviting and cozy! The delicious aromas of baked goods and coffee rafting in the air. Immediately we were greeted and order requests were asked. The assembly and the methodical process of the food prep was impressive and fun to watch our orders come to fruition! On the table we had ordered The Rio , In a spinach wrap with jam and potato. This was amazing! Then there was the Western on a sesame bagel , delicious and tasty! Last but not least we had the Chedder melt in a spinach wrap , so delicious! Surprised to get a sub-par meal here. I ordered the Roast Beef Cheddar Melt as a wrap. I couldn't even finish it because it didn't taste great and was difficult to consume. The meat had fat strings and weird pieces that I had to pick out, which made a mess. The roast beef very thin slices and not as tasty as I imagine quality roast beef would taste like. The horseradish sauce had a kick but it was a strange consistency that made it ooze out of my wrap, piping hot and watery, making a mess. The fillings in general were uncharacteristically skimpy... I didn't want to even take a photo because the appearance was fairly unsightly. For beverage I got their mint chocolate coffee which tasted slightly stale, and artificial. Couldn't finish that either. The girls working seemed very nice but the food/bev is faltering since I was here last. I'll be back but was really disappointed in my visit. We ordered the wild salmon bagel at Bagels And Brews. It was the toughest bagel that I have ever chewed and was accompanied by a more sour than salty tasting salmon for almost $10 each! Considering the space occupied by the tomato, onions and capers, there is two thin slices of lox. Though there is a generous helping of capers, this is by far a lox bagel that makes me recall that sometimes food is just fuel. This is just fuel. There is no love in this bagel and the slightly sour salmon makes it hard to keep it down. All this for $10! I would never pay this much again for a lox bagel at an unfamiliar place! This was utterly disappointing. My wallet is significantly lighter, my stomach is full with a lead ball of a bagel, and my mouth is stuck in a frown of disappointment. I wouldn't eat here again, and I wouldn't recommend that you even try it. read more

I stopped in the drive thru yesterday for a quick bite. I ordered the Bagel with smoked salmon on a well toasted everything bagel and a large water. To my surprise is was $18.45. I asked the lady how much the sandwich was because there are no prices on the drive thru menu. She said it was $13.95. I was a little shocked cause they had been $8 for a long time. Very filling. The servers were friendly and the service was fast. Bagels are made fresh on site and some were sold out by the time we got here (we slept in!). I wasn't impressed with his customer service as he didn't want to inquire with any one to fix my bill. so if you want to pay almost $28 dollars for 2 bagel sandwiches this is the joint for you just watch they don't wipe your food with the cleaning rag. Excellent bagels!!!! Perfectly chewy exterior, soft fluffy interior with just the perfect amount of chew- Holds up to the rigors of thick cream cheese, or the stuffings of a tasty sandwich. Toasting them even made them better with that fresh out of the oven taste! Great flavor in the blueberry or raisin varieties, but even the plain bagel stood out! I wanted to like this place... I really did. I ordered the chocolate chip bagel, and man did it disappoint! I've never had such a bland tasting bagel before. It had chocolate chips in it, but I don't know if they were over cooked or what, I didn't taste any of them. My friend also ordered the choclate chip bagel, somehow she was actually handed the bagel that sits in the shelf next to chocolate chip, pecan or something. She had it switched out after a few bites and realizing it wasn't what it was supposed to be. This place is actually so good! They have a decent variety on their menu, but my husband and I have only tried the bagel sandwiches. If you've have Panera, Einstein's, or other big chain sandwich places, Bagels & Brew compares and sometimes surpasses their quality. If I remember correctly, they have a lot of other snack and breakfast items that also looked really good. There are lots of drink options, as well. There is a quite a lot of seating here and the atmosphere is very warm. Nice place to visit all year round for good vibes. I personally have never had a bad experience with the staff, but I was a student at UAF while living in Fairbanks and was told by a classmate who worked here that she was treated terribly by the owner. I can't speak to that, but just thought it was something to include. Overall, we recommend this place. read more

This place had incredible bagels. I love fresh bagels, and this restaurant definitely did not disappoint. The bagels tasted very good, and the cream cheese was wonderful. I had a sesame bagel with jalapeño cream cheese, and it was only $3, which I consider a good price. The place was very clean, and the service was friendly. I also had some of the 1000 mile tea, which was good but not exceptional. It was from an external tea company, so I don't really fault the restaurant. So once upon a time, if I went to the Golden Heart City, I ate breakfast at a place that has cookie in the title, then last visit, I was meh. I have had a few other breakfast around town and no lasting love. So I convinced my daughter lets try here. First of all it is the only time in my life where I encountered fresh warm bagels, plus. I had the breakfast bagel made with the everything bagel or the works, best I have had ever, seriously. Then we bought some extra's to go but ate a few at the table, also very, very good.
