I upgraded to the onion rings because the menu promised brew-battered goodness. Plot twist: they were not brew battered. Instead, they showed up wearing a thick, under-seasoned bread coat that felt more like winter in Alaska than crispy onion rings. Sadly, they were the biggest disappointment of the meal. The burger itself was pretty good, but the bun kept stealing the spotlight and not in a good way. It had an odd flavor that I couldn't quite identify. Whatever it was, I wasn't a fan. The ranch definitely didn't taste homemade. If it was, somebody's grandma needs a new recipe. My dining partner ordered The Experience burger, and ironically, it was the best part of... the experience. He loved it. We did, however, disagree on the fries. He thought they were oversalted. They were a little too thickly fried, and they didn't stay out on the burger. I always like to try out a places onion rings. These are the type that are comically huge, and a bit over fried. Not the 'sand paper rip up your mouth' type, but it's on its way there. You get 4 in place of your fries, and they are huge. I would not recommend subbing your fries for these. My husband got sweet potato fries and those were great! So I can only imagine how good their normal fries were. Drinks were good too. We had an order of onion rings, and they were big and crunchy - you had to cut them with a steak knife! We also tried an order of little corndogs, and they were delightful! The Case of the Missing Pig The clouds had stopped sometime before dinner, but the disappointment rolled in right on schedule. I found myself at The Tipsy Cow in Issaquah, one of my usual spots. The kind of place that has earned the benefit of the doubt. Fast service. Good people. Burgers big enough to make tomorrow's lunch somebody else's problem. Tonight's suspect was the Grande Pig. The menu read like a confession to excess: adobo pork, grilled pineapple, guacamole, caramelized onions, romaine, chipotle mayo, ciabatta bun. Every word promised bad decisions and a happy ending. The first bite was fantastic. The second bite was fantastic. The third bite was fantastic. There was just one problem. There was no pig. I kept chewing, searching the sandwich like a detective turning over a crime scene. Pineapple? Found it. Guacamole? Plenty. Chipotle mayo? Leaving fingerprints everywhere. The pork, however, remained at large. Eventually I located it. A thin strip hiding deep in the sandwich. Less "Grande Pig" and more "Pig of Interest." It was sliced so thin I briefly wondered if I'd found evidence or just a witness statement. And that's what makes this case so strange. This sandwich was delicious. Absolutely delicious. The flavors worked together like a well-rehearsed heist crew. Sweet, smoky, creamy, tangy. Every bite was excellent. But at $19, I wasn't paying for a pork-themed scavenger hunt. If you're going to name the sandwich Grande Pig, the pig should not require a search warrant. The real crime isn't that the sandwich tasted bad. The real crime is that it tasted so good while simultaneously making me feel like I'd been pickpocketed. I'll be back. The Tipsy Cow has built up too much goodwill over the years to lose me over one sandwich. But next time I'm sticking with the Rockstar Burger. It never makes promises it can't keep. It shows up. It does the job. It leaves no unanswered questions. As for the Grande Pig? The flavors were innocent. The value was guilty. We've been to several of their locations but it was our first time to the Issaquah spot. I really enjoyed the interior layout and all the big screen TVs with ample seating. Now on to the food which is all about the burgers and the wide variety with clever names! I went with the Tipsy Burger that came with a seven ounce Wagyu patty with cheese all the veggie fixings and tipsy sauce. I added on the thick cut bacon which runs you a few extra bucks. We also had two of the Arsonist burgers with the same size patty but jacked up with pepper jack cheese, fire roasted jalapeños, harissa pepper aioli and roasted habaneros (optional) and with all the kick it wasn't overly spicy hot. We had the original fries and also upgraded with the truffle fries. Our server was great and she tended to needs. Overall a good experience although expect to pay about $22-$25 per burger with fries depending on the add-ons. The Brie was good and it had white truffle aioli. It was super flavorful. It was good just a bit heavy but still delicious. We got the berry milkshake too and added the berry vodka into it. I was around the area and was craving for a juicy burger so decided to try this place out. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted immediately by the host. I love how the restaurant is divided into two sides which made it very spacious. Our server greeted us and gave us our menu. The menu had a lot of interesting burgers ranging from chicken to fish. I decided to try the Experience burger which had Portobello mushroom, tomato, lettuce, white cheddar and Chèvre (goat cheese). My partner got the original tipsy burger which had the basics with Beecher's cheddar cheese. Overall, I thought the Portobello mushroom burger was good but I should have asked for no goat cheese since it was too overpowering. The burger was cooked perfectly and very juicy. I sampled the tipsy burger and thought it tasted better than mine. I should have gotten the classic but oh well, it was my fault. We also tried one of their banana foster milkshakes and thought it was delicious. For $9, I wish they give you more and in a bigger cup. Just a heads up that this place is not cheap. It was little cold and fries were not crispy anymore. I got stuck in a meeting. It was messy and big. The bun was moist. There was no sauce on the burger, not sure what happened to sauce. I did get the Moo Sauce for the fries. Unless i misunderstood reading the description, I thought it would come with sauce. Without it, it was plain, down to 3 stars. To quickly summarize: We had great customer service. The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean and not super crowded on arrival but customers steadily came in during in our dinner. So it never was too loud and we were able to have a nice meal with decent conversation. The cheese curds came out popping hot and were a solid 3.5/5. Cheesy, crunchy and slightly salty with a nice chew you expect from curds. The poutine was solid. The gravy was well seasoned. But the egg didn't really add anything to it. 3/5 The wings were cooked well but probably our least favorite. Just didn't really do anything for us 2.5/5 My son's burger was big and juicy and he devoured it. He gave it a 4/5. The jacked up fries 4/5. The cheese sauce was delicious and we all loved it. I was so excited to give this place a try. The menu looked delish. But that's where it stopped. I came today with a friend for lunch. Our serve was Rashelle. We saw her exactly twice. When she took our order. And then dropped off the wrong order for both of us. Service 1/5 I ordered the wings with habanero sauce and my friend order wings with sweet bbq sauce our waitress brought our food out 20 minutes later. Said what it was and set them down. One bite in and she was like. Wow this is spicy and one bite of mine and I was like this is just brown sugar in a chicken wing. (Did I mention I have to watch how much sugar I consume each meal) We flagged down the hostess and asked her what the flavors were and she said that our orders have been delivered incorrectly. She said they'd remake them (it had by then been 40 minutes since we arrived) we just swapped plates and continued our conversation. It felt like they'd been fried at opening and then tossed in some hot bbq to hear them up. 1/5 (both flavors) The truffle fries. These were pretty good. The winemaker burger has had me back here five times. I have tried something different each time. The benito black bean burger was absolutely fantastic too! I have to say I fell in love with last nights arsonist burger with the real chargrilled poblano peppers on it. We probably used the entire container of the cheap paper towel napkins that you find in the bathroom to dry your hands with. We need serious thick napkins.
