1 Star Review We are extremely disappointed with the repeated mistakes and poor customer service we've experienced with this company. it was one issue after another -- all due to warehouse and fulfillment errors. For the groom, the pants were too tight, the wrong shirt was sent (we ordered a pleated point collar slim 15/35), the vest didn't match (we needed a standard black vest, size S), and the jacket was too tight. For the father of the groom, one shoe was a size 8 and the other a size 9, only one cufflink was sent, and the jacket was too small. Please keep in mind, we got measurements done at the local store to prevent sizing issue from happening. There were also multiple issues for the rest of the wedding party. It's unacceptable to have so many mistakes in a single order--especially for such an important event. We tried to get these issues corrected, but the process was slow and frustrating. We urgently needed the correct replacement items expedited to ensure everyone looks their best on the wedding day. The sales reps at the store were great, but the manufacturer/warehouse was not. I do not recommend. Save yourself from stress and aggravation and use another company for your tuxedo rental. We sincerely hope management steps up, improves their quality control, and takes responsibility for making improvements. read more

Their website is crap, customer service is hard to get a hold of, and my return label was never on the box like the directions said they were. Sadly, have to rent another tux from these folks. Gave me the wrong size even after they fitted me. I tried to call them but no one would answer I've called numerous times their service is terrible. They had a decent selection. But for the 275 it took to rent a tux I would've thought I would receive the correct size not even slightly to large I had to come up with a way to keep the pants on my waist and it looked stupid. Would not recommend for the price. Should've been 34 I was measured at the store. For some reason he placed it for a size 36. No way in hell will I ever fit into that. read more

I had a good experience at my appointment with Paige at The Black Tux located inside Nordstrom Perimeter Mall. I was looking for a tux to wear to my wedding as well as tuxes for my groomsmen. I decided on buying a custom tux elsewhere, but also decided to have my wedding party rent their tuxes from The Black Tux. The Black Tux was one of three options that our wedding planner recommended to me. If you want a weekend appointment, book early. I had to book my Sunday appointment several weeks in advance. Booking and almost everything is done through the website: https://theblacktux.com/. The appointment lasted under an hour. The Black Tux has a couple consult tables, clothing samples, and many fitting rooms. My appointment was simple. Paige asked me some basic questions about my wedding and what I was looking for in a tux. She measured me and brought out a basic tux for me to try on. The shirt was too big so Paige brought me a smaller shirt to try on. It was still too baggy, so Paige was honest with me and told me to get my shirt from somewhere else. The Black Tux's shirts weren't going to fit me the way I wanted. Everything else looked good, especially for a rental. I was impressed with the slim fit of both the jacket and the pants. My fiancee commented on how well my pants fit in the butt region, but we both noticed how the pants kind of sagged in the crotch area. Other than that, both the jacket and the pants had nice, modern, slim profiles. The shoes, to my surprise, fit well and were comfortable. After trying on the tux, Paige made some adjustments to my measurements (she tightened up measurements like my sleeve length). Paige entered all of my measurements into my profile on The Black Tux's website. After that, I changed back into my regular clothes and sat down at Paige's desk to talk about styles and accessories. During this consulting session, we looked through photos on The Black Tux's website and also looked at and touched physical samples in person. I thought this was helpful. Paige was thorough, explaining the different collar types to me (notch lapel, peak lapel, shawl) and the subtleties in style that I could choose, not only for myself, but for my groomsmen. She helped me determine my basic look. We also discussed accessories and other apparel like suspenders (highly recommended by Paige) and vests (not recommended). I forgot to ask her about cuff links and studs and wish that I had. I went home, logged into my profile on The Black Tux's website, and priced out a full outfit for rental. Here's how the pricing broke down: * Tuxedo (jacket and pants) - $125 * Dress shirt - $20 * Bow tie - $10 * Shoes - $25 * Studs - $5 * Cufflinks - $10 * Suspenders - $10 * TOTAL - $205 I don't have other current tux rental prices to compare The Black Tux to. However, purchasing an entire outfit like the one listed above, custom-made, can easily cost $600 to $1,000 or more. My custom tux with all accessories, but shoes, ended up costing just under $700. Prices for the groom are the same as for groomsmen. The Black Tux has a nice deal for grooms. If you have six or more groomsmen and outfit them in looks of $175 or more, you get up to $200 in rental credit (so my outfit above would only cost $5). I strongly considered it. My groomsmen don't ever have to physically visit one of The Black Tux stores if they don't want to. I can choose their looks online and all they have to do is get measured, preferably by professionals and not their significant others, and enter their measurements online. Rental tuxes for both the groom and groomsmen are delivered 14 days before the wedding date. This allows time for replacement items to be shipped, at no charge, in case something doesn't fit. Also, The Black Tux will credit up to $15 off any tailoring needs for each person. As far as renting vs. buying, we were flat-out told not to buy a tux from The Black Tux because The Black Tux's tuxes supposedly aren't as high-quality as store-bought tuxes from non-rental retailers. We were told they break down and fall apart in less time than tuxes from non-rental places. That doesn't surprise me as one of the shirts I tried on had a broken collar button. Just something to keep in mind. I'll post a review update on top of this review after my wedding to describe how everything went. read more

We had an appointment today at the Black Tux for my best man. One of my groomsmen joined us and tried to meet with them too. They told him they were appointment only. So, we stood around for an extra 30 minutes while the best man got fitted. No one else came up. They definitely could have met with my groomsman, but instead played with their phones and such. Their rude, dismissive and unaccomodating treatment of my wedding party makes me belive I made a mistake in choosing them for our rentals. read more

They removed the option to get measured at David's Bridal, and David's Bridal refused to measure me unless I can book an appointment their their website.. which you can't. I can't hold the tux with a card without purchasing which you should be able to if the wedding party is paying for the tux. Their email support doesn't work and call wait times for support are over an hour (i always hang up about 1:15-1:30). This place is a very unprofessional disaster. read more

Decided to do an in person fitting instead of using their online algorithm to guess my tux fit. Picked the earliest date and time I saw for a fitting. Seemed easy. The next day I get two back to back phone calls while I'm at work. No voicemail left so I didn't rush to call back. Was off the next day so I googled the number and saw it was for Nordstrom where I scheduled the fitting. Cool. Called back. Got a lady who was basically whispering on the phone and I kept having to ask to speak up for clarity. She asked for my info a few times and my fitting date. She found it after a minute or so. She then proceeded to tell me they called because they are sold out of everything until a month after my event. I told her that's odd cause on the site two days ago everything looked good and they had a ton of options. She said the website isn't up to date and everything is every size is sold out. She said the company can't keep up with the world opening back up and they lost a ton of folks during covid. I get it losing people. However, it doesn't take much to update a website to say you're sold out. It doesn't take much to leave a voicemail and say this yesterday instead of calling two times back to back. Not good service in my eyes. Now I have to figure out another option with less time since they basically wasted two days of time by not updating their website or leaving me a voicemail. Kudos to them for trying to call and tell me but it's voided out by my leaving a message and me having to do all the leg work. My advice? Take your business elsewhere. This company spent all their money on marketing and now they can't keep up with the demand. Sounds like they need to go to Shark Tank and seek some funding because the negative reviews will keep coming if they can't meet demand or at least update their website. Sounds like they need to pick more efficient fitting partners too because the team at Nordstrom in Perimeter Mall isn't cutting it. Go to Men's Wear house, Savvi Formalwear, etc. and rent/buy from them. Been around longer and have a better process. Black Tux is the less expensive option but is clear they are just cheaper all around. Cheaper items = cheaper service, low supply, and poor communication. read more

I would give The Black Tux 4.5 stars. The appointment was harder to get, but once I was there I was in and out. You just need measurements not to try on every option. Once you're measured you can select exactly what you want online. Their tuxes do fit differently than your normal suit size, just FYI. Obviously I was not the groom or any of the groomsmen, but as a solo needing a tux for a family wedding this couldn't have been easier. I will say that while at the wedding I could tell The Black Tux was more tailored than the other tuxes worn, and the bow tie stood out as genuine vs a lot of cheaper clip on looking ones. I also purchased an upgraded loafer shoe and was satisfied. The first shipment came in and the shoes were too small and the bow tie looked different than advertised, so I submitted a claim to get a different size shoe and another bow tie and they were delivered within a week. First of all, the customer service at the location I went to was great. Very attentive, quick to answer all my questions, and even helped me set up my profile on the website. I was in and out of there quick. The checkout process online was very easy and my tux arrived when they said it would. Everything came as expected, fit great, and the quality was far superior than Men's Warehouse, in my opinion. When I was finished I just dropped it off at a shipping location and that was that. I will be using them again for my wedding party! My only complaint was the shipping box. I was expecting something much more compact and it was a bit of a pain to travel with as I was taking a flight back home for the event. That being said, it is carry on compatible and I did not have any issues boarding the plane with it in hand. read more

I had such a wonderful experiencing when I used The Black Tux. From setting up an appointment to get fit to choosing my suit and finally getting to wear it - the process was seamless! The suit fit me perfectly! However, I realized I did need a smaller size shoe. I contacted the customer service team and within a few days, they had the new pair out to me. Such a great experience! On top of it all, the return process couldn't been easier! They supply the return label and the box! Simply throw everything in the box that was sent to you, drop it off at FedEx and bam! Two weeks before my event the tux arrived I tried it on everything fit perfectly except the sleeves on the jacket required a small adjustment which was done by my wife. I found out about The Black Tux from my future son-in-law whom had a great experience before me. And he was right. The fitting experience was fast, easy and painless. My tux arrived well in advance of my event date. I tried it on as suggested and found they had shipped the incorrect size shirt. I called customer service and they were polite and apologetic. I had my new shirt within 2 days. I looked great for my event. The return process was even easier. I put the tux back in the box it came in. Sealed it with the tape provided by The Black Tux company and then revealed the return shipping label that was hidden under the original shipping label. I dropped it off at FedEx and Presto I was done. I have two black tie events in my future. I'll definitely be using The Black Tux again. read more

I needed a tux for a wedding and I needed it shipped out to me because I didn't have enough time to go and get fitted for my sizes. I was nervous at first on putting my sizes in for the tux because I have more of an muscular type build. I recieved the package through Fed-Ex and everything was nicely organized. Tried on the Slim Fit Tux and it fitted me perfectly, the way envisioned it in my brain. I recieved multiple of compliments. They didn't have any of the pieces in the store to try on, rushed us out, and were no help at all when we had questions about options for the Groom and ways to style the groomsman. I can't speak to the service for this exact location. However, I rented from this company through their website. This company is a complete SCAM. When I received my suit, it was soaking wet and smelled of body odor. It was as if they had shipped it directly to me right after someone else had worn it the day before. The shoes are stretched out and look to have been worn 100x by a heftier man. For $250, have your grooms party go through a different company or buy a suit. I wouldn't have paid $50 for what they sent me. read more

I needed minor alterations to my jacket sleeve length, for which they reimbursed hassle-free. I was very tired of the same old boxy, ill fitting fitting tuxedos made from industrial fabric that are typical of most rentals. I wanted a different experience. My fiancee' (now wife) had heard of The Black Tux from somewhere and suggested that we try it. I was a little skeptical, but being a good "husband to be" I agreed that we should check it out. I was concerned from the description online that the price would be substantially higher than the normal men's store rentals. We went to Nordstrom's to be measured and our experience could not have been better! The salesperson was extremely attentive and personable and wanted our experience to be beyond our expectations. He took time with us, measured carefully and we tried on several options to make sure that we had the right choice. Even as we were approaching the cash register to place the order, I was nervous that this great experience would be reflected in the price. Imagine my surprise when the total price came up to be substantially less that what I had been quoted at two other "boxy rental" places. When the tux arrived, (two weeks ahead of the event) as promised. The fit and the feel was perfect! And the return process was as simple as it could be.
