This is a very good pub. Beer selection is good, which pleases my husband. We've been here probably a dozen times over a few years, and have enjoyed everything we've tried. The waffle fries are excellent--fresh, hot, and crispy, and they stay perfect throughout the meal, which means they are not too greasy. They normally come with pepper on them, so I always specify no pepper, which is happily done. I usually order the crispy chicken wrap sandwich, which is bigger than I can finish, and it's really good. Service is very friendly, and we haven't noticed any extra-long wait times, but then we're not usually in a hurry when we're here. read more

Last visit was unique as the chicken stayed a bit long in the pan for the wife. I can't say I care how mine is cooked it most always stellar whoever I order. This time the waitress took the wife's chicken off the bill and included a military discount. Since I'm a retired Military Officer I can be blunt when something goes crazy. This event was well handled by the waitress however I received comments from my waitress and another waitress which mentioned the tip wasn't enough and don't come back. Not sure how much higher than 20% the rest of you guys would go. My wife is a great cook but we preferred to support our local businesses. The Blarney Stone is one I recommend to my Real Estate clients routinely and I doubt the owner would prefer I not recommend them as suggested with the F word by the two responding waitresses. I've removed the pick I uploaded and hope future visits are again excellent as they usually are. Waitresses take a chill pill you're only the messenger food comments deal with kitchen improvement. We spent the evening at Blarney Stone last night with our friend who lives locally. This is a great local pub with great food and service and just the kind of ambiance that is perfect for a small town pub. Elon and Saira made us feel like old friends and, overall, created a very friendly atmosphere. For food I had the Cobb Salad and my wife and our friend shared the Smoked Salmon BLT and whiskey glazed salmon. All were fabulous! I don't know why some people *cough* *cough* Dru M *cough* feel the need to give local restaurants who are fighting a pandemic a low review over dry chicken after they ate most of it, but let me just stand up for these people. Servers and all restaurant workers--hats off to you! I see y'all cleaning whenever you're not dealing with customers, how you're understaffed bc of protocol, how you have a limited menu and deal with unsatisfied customers, how you still smile and try to make our experience of going to a restaurant seem like it once was with some normalcy. I'm from Onancock and whenever I go home to visit, I usually always go here. When I lived there, it was the place to go for everyone to have a drink and meal. The shore doesn't have many places like this, and I think for those living nearby it is a big part of our community. The food is great! I personally love the wings, clam chowder, bangers and mash, and beer selection. The service is friendly and accommodating. It's a place for everyone. Like the review before me even alluded to: it is mostly a great place. Being from out of town, a local recommended we try this place out. We really enjoyed our food (app: corned beef spring rolls, entrees: shepherds pie & portobello Chesapeake). Their online ordering is by far the easiest in Onancock. Well done!!!! We know from eating there for years what we wanted. In less than 5 minutes we ordered, paid, and had a time for pick-up. Good stuff. We at here a couple of days after having a completely uninteresting meal at Mallards down the street (avoid that one!) First it is small, but does have some outdoor seating that overlooks a DMV parking lot. We got there early, but we saw several people just turn around and leave after talking to the waitress about seating. Decor was nice, but not lavish. Real table cloths and napkins, clean bathrooms. For a pub I'd say pretty damned good. About 10-12 beers on tap, Guinness, Smithwicks, etc... Food... We were eating a bit earlier than normal and the kids had just woken up so we got appetizers and meals for them... Sliders - Very good little burgers. The garlic mayo could have used a bit more punch but they were good. Crab dip - I loved that they made their own flour tortilla chips. Dip was very rich but if you're sharing with a couple people you should be fine. I liked it. My wife got a little burnt on it because she was eating it as her main meal. Cheese and bacon fries - very good. Waffle fries were cooked up nice and crispy, real cheese, real bacon. Kids got fish and chips and chicken tenders. Both of these were really good. Fish and chips was a good sized thick piece of fish and the batter was good if not quite as thick or airy as I was expecting. Daughter loved it and ate the whole thing (even though I couldn't convince her that malt vinegar makes it even better) Chicken tenders and fries were about what you would expect, but were cooked well and enjoyed. Service was a bit slow as they were pretty busy which was fine. There was live music and the kids were suitably entertained by that. Overall, I really liked it. The pub had better food than the chef down at Mallards by a long shot. Going in I expected decent fried foods and burgers as any pub should have, but stuff like the fried flour tortilla chips, crab dip, and care taken with the crispy bacon the fries exceeded my expectations. Would definitely go back here and would definitely recommend it to others. read more

Stopped by last weekend and the food was really good. Ordered 8 wings which were crispy and delicious. We had pretzel sticks and liked the cheese on the side. My fiancé had the turkey Ruben with cole slaw and I had the hot pastrami sandwich with onion rings. My fiancé didn't like the cole slaw much which is pretty much the only flaw. Great food and drinks. We usually walk past this place to go to the tap house next door but we will definitely be stopping here more often as the food is much better. read more

Stopped in here on a Friday afternoon with my wife, her sister, and her mother. There were about three other parties in the pub. We were told to seat ourselves and our drink orders were taken. The beer menu was as robust as any other beer menu in the area, but it was hot out and I was in the mood for plain old water. We waited for about 15 minutes for four waters and an iced tea, which kind of informed me how the rest of the meal would go. We ordered our food and then began the long wait. I passed my time talking about work, passively watching tennis on the TV facing me, and drinking my three water refills that arrived before my food. The pub stayed relatively empty throughout. The food mercifully showed up about an hour after we were seated. I had the Crispy Chicken wrap, which was surprisingly tasty, but that might have just been hunger influencing my taste buds. If you do still stop here, get the waffle fries as your side. They were the highlight of my stop at the pub - crispy, golden, and tasty. Just be prepared to wait for a loooooooooooong time for them. read more

Loved it, not really far off 13, good Guinness and we got the egg roll and crab dip, both highly recommended on yelp and we agreed they were great. Our server was Steve and he was a absolutely fabulous. We will plan our drives through Delmarva based on their operating hours. Covid protocol also followed, outdoor seating and masks. Mrs. is a RN and knows how bad this can impact your life so that's a huge plus for us. read more

The food was good, once we received it. It was lunchtime 2 weeks ago 3 of us went here. From the time we ordered our food (3 sandwiches) to the time it hit the table was 27 minutes. There were only 2 other tables in the restaurant. I had a grilled veggie sandwich which was pretty good, but because of the wait and the attention that was given to 'regulars' and not us newbies, I will not be back. read more

If you are a craft beer fan,and like fish and chips or burgers,this is a good stop for you. The atmosphere can be very loud when crowded. I like the spring and summer nights outside ,they have an acoustic set playing some nights and is very enjoyable with a cold pint. The Irish food ,well , it's Irish food. They fail miserably at this attempt. It's like Irish food meets the Shore,meets a kosher deli. I think they just try too hard. Stick with the cold beer,hot burgers, and fish or chicken for the kids and you'll do just fine. It's a Irish style pub with the bar and food that is somewhat typical for a pub in Ireland. Gary, the chef, does a marvelous job in the kitchen putting out some very toothsome food! All the Irish favorites are there, plus a few Eastern Shore specialties. He even does a 1/4 pound hot dog called the MacGruff that comes with waffle fries. They also KNOW how to pour a pint of stout properly! Good list of beers both on tap and in bottles. Also has a performance venue in warmer weather by local performers of Irish music. Loud!!!! Atmosphere is just what you'd expect from an Irish Pub, staff is friendly and personable, beer and wine selection is good (they have beer specials every Thursday, wine specials on Wednesday) and food is good too. However the place is too loud even on a night that isn't too busy. If it is a busy night you are actually shouting across the table at the people you are dining with! They sometimes have music but unfortunately you can hardly hear the entertainer above the din! There has to be someway to fix the acoustics so the entire dining experience is more enjoyable. read more

I'm a local here and frequented this establishment almost weekly, but unfortunately I'm going to find another place for my weekly place to go... heads up if they look busy and it's only two of you you may be moved. I kinda understand they are trying to make the best of the seating they have available, but to make you get up from where you are already seated I think is rude. I asked why we were being moved and was told they were anticipating being busy.. we had our dinner and the tables were still vacant. We also saw 4 guys that already had their beverages moved to another table by the chef. They can anticipate this, that I will not be visiting their establishment next week!
