Unfortunately, just not much to write home about. The food was just Ok, and nothing really stuck out. My steamed clams were a bit pricey, one of the 12 didn't open and I was unable to eat it, and honestly, the broth they were in was too salty. Clams already taste like the sea, they certainly don't need a whole lot added to them! Our bartender was attentive and friendly though and kept us plied with water, which was great because it was a very hot day! All in all though, as far as an Irish Pub goes, I just wasn't that impressed

Recently, we came to an Onancock for lunch at Mallard's. We noticed a restaurant nearby called the Blarney Stone pub. We tried it today and are so glad we did! We had the hamburger sliders with Kerrygold Dubliner cheese. They were cooked perfectly; the meat had the best flavor(and I'm not a Chargrilled burger fan)‍ So did the cheese, but that goes without saying when it's Kerrygold! We also had the crab dip with the baguette. Very cheesy. The temperature was so good and as you can imagine, we finished it all. We rounded out our meal with the chocolate mousse cake. I don't think I'm going to eat for two days I'm so satisfied. The service was really good as well. They were attentive and concerned about the temperature because we were sitting near a window and it was cold outside! The heater in the window was an extremely nice touch. We are already planning our next visit and choosing our dishes!

The Spicy Irishman was absolutely delicious! It was flavorful and just the hint of spice. Service was like talking to an old friend! She was very nice and punctual with all requests and our orders. The ambiance was very Irish, and the music was soothing and added to the atmosphere. Overall, 5/5. An amazing spot for brunch, lunch and dinner! I'd highly recommend if you're in the area.

I stopped in at the Blarney Stone Pub a few Saturdays ago when I photographing Onancock. As many times as I've passed through Onancock over the years I've never managed to get in here for lunch. Today that changed. With most of our work done we entered through the patio and walked into the interior. We were met be the person who I have a feeling was the owner who offered us indoor or outdoor seating. It was a beautiful afternoon so elected to sit in the shade on the patio up near the street. We immediately received menus and had our drink orders taken and a few moments later they arrived. Nothing like an ice cold Coca-Cola on a warm afternoon. Our server took our orders at that point. I opted for a Bacon Cheeseburger with a side of onion rings. I really wanted something 'Irish' like some Shepard's Pie but I felt like it would be to heavy with an afternoon of filming still in front of me. My friend ordered Fish & Chips. Our order came out after a short wait. The burger was good, and cooked to my specification. The onion rings were also crisp and excellent. My friend said he enjoyed his fish and chips as well. I'm a little disappointed that I left here not having something more Irish themed, but that was circumstances. I'll resolve that next time I'm here. It's good food, excellent vibe and a warm friendly staff.

Went here with my family for a nice lunch. The place is inviting and was busy for lunch time. They were super prepared for kids, offering my daughter (almost immediately) crayons and a fun placemat to color on. Selection of craft beer is pretty good and the food is on par with what I would expect from an American Irish pub. I had the turkey reuben panini, and ate everything on my plate. Will definitely try this place again when I roll through the Eastern Shore.

Portions were on the large side so we had leftovers for a full takeaway meal. The egg rolls were new to us - corned beef dipped in a mustard sauce was an unusual, yet pleasant appetizer. They arrived hot with the interior cheese melted. Good. Side of broccoli was cooked to a soft texture - this is normal in many restaurants, yet I prefer crunchy raw so will ask for that next time. Service: Emily appeared frequently enough so we did not feel neglected. She's obviously experienced as we observed her navigating an increasingly busy clientele. Surprised for being after normal lunch time - 1:00 PM. She seemed to agree with our menu choices by sayiing "Good Choice." on our selections, Ambiance: Decor reminiscent of an Irish pub. It's NOT a college-student hangout by appearances and Emily's description. Surprising given how close this place is to the University. Tables and chairs, and booths appeared clean. Restroom was accessible, clean and well supplied. Mix of background music from Billy Joel to Irish titles. Ample free parking in front lot. Overall, a top rating due to a surprisingly pleasant experience offering unique to Salisbury food and atmosphere. Few notes: 1. Backs of booths are shared. Thus, you can feel neighboring diner shifting seats or leaning back. Like a kid kicking your airplaine seat back behind you, it's a minor irritation IF done once or twice. 2. Female servers need not wear minikilts and shorts to attract business in my opinion. Their uniform, if required, brings into question whether it's a family place. Regular length kilts would add suitable authentic atmosphere IMO.

We figured it would be busy since it's an Irish pub on St. Patrick's Day, so it wasn't a big deal when it took about 10 minutes for the server to come take our drink order, and another 10 minutes to come take our food order. Then there was the wait. Since it was a busy day, I figured about 30 minutes, maybe 40, so I expected our food would be ready around 8:20-8:30; our food was not delivered to our table until 9:23... and it was a little cold, as if it had been ready for a while, but never brought out. I ate about half of mine and took the rest home. My wife only ate maybe 3-4 bites of hers. After reheating at home, the food itself was fine; I had corned beef & cabbage (yes, cliche) and my wife had fish & chips. We were given a basket of kettle chips around 8:30. The wait was long enough that my wife ordered a second beer (which she doesn't usually do); was a little disappointed that it wasn't comped because of the long wait. What made it worse was there were a few tables that were seated after us that got their food before us, including a party of 6 that finished, paid and left before our food even arrived. I'm willing to give the place a second chance on a different day. I get that St. Patrick's Day is probably a rough one for them. But if the kitchen is over an hour behind, that should probably be mentioned before any orders are taken.

It quickly became apparent there were only a few employees, a bartender, a waitress, and the cook/owner. That said, service was great, it was obvious they were working as best they could to assure everyone was getting what they needed, and that orders were acceptable. Our food came out fast (we ordered fish and chips) and the servings were huge! Bartender even gave me a sample of their delicious red back sauce, which has a decent amount of heat for a restaurant sauce..... We need to make a point to add this place to our regular rotation of restaurants, they really work hard to deliver great food and great service, even though they are quite short staffed! Thé menu wasn't huge, but they had a section of ' summer grilled' options...pork, chicken, brisket,.....that Im sure would all be delicious! And a smaller menu is a good thing IMO, as they can concentrate on making the food they do offer delicious! If you go here, give the workers a break and understand the situation they're in. If you don't get waited on Immediately, know this has become all too prevalent everywhere these days; and most often, slow service isn't a result of slack workers....definitely not here!

Introduction to my Scrapbook series & health update to start Scrapbook series:…read more Starting a new Yelp series: Scrapbook series, stuff from Scrapbooks of my now 15 years living in the DC area. I'll have various # of reviews per year. I moved to Alexandria from Arizona on Saturday, October 15, 2011. As a 27 year old at the time and being new to town, I wanted to check out the bar scene in various places like DC, Clarendon, other areas of Arlington, & the city I lived in Alexandria, more specifically Old Town. My scrapbook series of reviews will likely go into 2027 (but I'll get some done from 8/31 to whenever things get bad for me) as I may not be getting much if any Yelp reviews done in October-November time range due to high dose chemo with stem cell replacement. You never imagine what life throws your way. Sure, I had various issues when I was kid, teen, & in 20's, but pails in comparison to 40's for me. In the 20's, job situation was unstable, dating/women drama, etc. But you never imagine that at 15 year anniversary of being in DC area having to do high dose chemo. My experience at Murphy's in October 2011 & beyond: When I lived in Alexandria, this was my #1 favorite & go to bar. I liked a good Irish pub over some club or some generic bar, although I enjoyed some of those to in my 20's. Murphy's staff was cordial here, and beer was good. They had some music at times and could be crowded on a weekend. My 1st weekend in the DC area was October 15-16, 2011, I was busy with moving & settling in and starting job on that Monday. Following weekend I explored DC amongst other fun things. On the 3rd weekend, Friday, October 28, 2011, I explored the Old Town Alexandria bar scene and stumbled across Murphy's Irish Pub. It was also Halloween weekend and there were some people in costumes. I got a chick's phone #. Her name was Adele, like the singer. Tried to get a date with her but never panned out as she claimed to be busy with whatever else. I went to Murphy's a few other times and always enjoyed. I included pic of the October 2011 receipt from my scrapbook. I'm going to take a pic of each thing from scrapbook as that'll take more time, but I had to include the first thing at the very least. All the stuff in for the 2011-2017 living in Virginia era businesses included are just receipts.

If you're looking for a laid-back spot with live music and a good old-school pub feel, this place hits the mark. Glad I stopped in.
