Great, warm, friendly and generously portioned servings. I had the fries and Celsius burger and was totally satisfied. They have a good selection of beers on tap. The chicken wings for appetizers were perfect. Not sure if the blooming onion would have been appropriate to order but we went ahead and ordered it!!! Very nice. If you want kind, generous and wonderful hamburger experience, you need to go here. Love the decor, atmosphere and the feeling that they welcome everyone. Customers are from various backgrounds and ages. I saw families with babies, teenagers with their friends and grandparents. It was a warm, inviting and very affordable place. The only downside is that they do not take debit or credit cards. They will take cash and checks. However, they do have an ATM inside so you do have access to cash. read more

Went into Blazers to find the restaurant completely empty during Dinner time. Waited around the empty place for about 5 minutes until the waiter comes and we are seated. As me and my father wait for our food we are handed one menu. I understand you have to throw the menus away after they are used due to covid, but seriously, one menu? Are you really that cheap? So my father asks for another menu and the waiter gives him it. A few minutes go by and we order. As we attempt to give the menus to the waiter he informs us that they can't take them back as they throw the menus away after use. Okay I get that. As he's walking away he mutters under his breath "thats why I only gave you one" in a very angry voice. Extremely rude. This is not how to treat your customers. You should be thankful anyone walks in your restaurant willing to spend money during a pandemic. Here's a tip, if your place is totally empty and people finally come in willing to pay you don't treat them like garbage. Not to mention this place is mediocre at best. A sub-par burger and to be totally honest the fries are overhyped and flavorless. Do yourself a favor and drive 5 minutes down the road to Muscoot Tavern, where the people are kind, the food is phenomenal, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. I dined here with family recently for the first time since the pandemic and was really looking forward to it. We had a plate of BBQ wings that were delicious, but this was countered by service that was truly despicable. Without getting into details, I'll just say that there was a small issue and the staff and owner spewed personal insults insulted my wife and daughter. Normally one could blame this on the difficulty of finding good help these days, but it was actually the owner who insulted us. We got up and left, offered to pay for our wings but they told us just to leave. We left and shan't be returning. I am in my 50s and have never been talked to this way by a restaurant or any other type of business. It must be nice to be so confident in your cash-only business that you can treat the customers who make your success possible this poorly. read more

Let me start by saying this. I consider myself a die-hard burger fan. I've been to many places that lay claim to the "Best Hamburger In Westchester/NY/The World". The Blazer is the winner, and in my opinion it isn't all that close. The funny thing about it is that they also have the best french fries in the world too. The burger is a small but thick patty with just a fantastic flavor. I recommend getting the burger on a hard roll, as the rolls they come with are a little small for my liking. Everytime I go out and get a burger, my wife asks "is it better than the Blazer?". The answer is always a resounding NO. As for the fries, they are thick steak fries. I find that ordering them "extra crispy" is the best way to have them. Their chili is obviously the same meat as the burger, and is my favorite chili as well. They also have added buffalo wings to the menu, and they are simply fantastic. All in all the Blazer is a dive bar with some of the best bar food you will find. The people there are all very nice and I can't recommend it enough! read more

Stumbled upon this wonderful restaurant after a day of apple picking with 7 of our friends from Buffalo. We enjoyed a delicious lunch along with a great selection of seasonal beers. We asked what the most popular items on the menu were and were advised to order the wings, chili, blazer burger & cod Reuben. Coming from Buffalo we were intrigued with the popularity of the wings... An excellent Irish pub full of great food! Ordered the buffalo tenders and steak fries and both were excellent. Lots of meat in the tenders and some of the best steak fries I've ever eaten. The atmosphere of the place is excellent, rocking decorations for St. Patrick's day each year, a PAC-Man/Galaga 20-year Reunion arcade cabinet, and a vintage 60s shuffleboard bowling game. A no drama place to the tee. I came here last Wednesday to have some beers and burgers with some co-workers and it did not disappoint. I had to travel 30 minutes north of Greenwich and then take a 1 hour train ride home back the city...and it was definitely worth every single minute. Delicious beers, great appetizers (buffalo wings), great burgers and excellent service. Short menu so deciding did not take that long at all. It's a little bit out in the middle of nowhere so be prepared for that. The Blazer Pub, so named for the red hunting blazers worn by high society gentlemen in days of old, is a rustic place decorated with many paintings and posters that are reminiscent of that era. Disgusting experience all around. The good reviews for this establishment are most certainly from the regular crowd that hangs out at the bar. The restaurant was very dated - vintage plastic table cloths from the 80's, dark lighting, dirty floors throughout, poorly decorated and no credit cards accepted (just an ATM in the bar area). The food choices were simple, which wouldn't be a big deal if there was someone in the kitchen that was more than the owner's out of work cousin playing chef (at least that is my guess). There was not a meal of the 4 ordered that was edible (only the steak fries were consumed). The waitress was a peach - no more to say there. If you're passing by on 684 and need a bite to eat, please keep going. I cannot fathom how this restaurant is still in business. read more

First let me mention that this is a cash only restaurant (not why I'm only giving it 2 stars) and our first time. When we initially ordered, two beers, 1 order of the signature wings, 2 blazer burgers medium rare and 1 small fries. A little wait for the beers, but ok, beers were really cold and refreshing, which was really nice. Wings were delicious, it was all we could talk about as we were eating them. Almost through with beers, our burgers came. Really large and came with lots of fixings (lettuce, tomatoes, onions, etc). Burgers were not medium rare, more medium well, but ok, they were not dry and the kaiser rolls was too large compared to the meat (so no big deal, just cut off some of bun. Here's where the restaurant losses us. We decide order take out - 2 order of the signature wings. We waited almost 45 minutes and nothing. We almost left the restaurant. The servers ignored us and once in a while we got an update when we asked. No apologies, they do not offer us a drink while we waited..nothing...we just got ignored. We were ready to give up and I had to physically find our server and told her that if the wings have not been dropped, please forget about the order and bring us the check so that we can leave. After this conversation, our wings magically appeared not 2 minutes later!! We paid, got in the car and I realized that our wings smelled more like buffalo rather than their signature wings. Now, I'm really annoyed and I just want them to take these wings and give us a refund. I ask for a refund, but the girl at the register, takes the bag, goes to the kitchen and 30 seconds later, comes out with the correct order. All this trouble and when we ate the wings later that night, they were nothing like the wings in the restaurant. They had no flavor/seasoning on them whatsoever. So, disappointing. read more

We went on a Sunday around 3pm and the place was packed, so they must be doing something right. The restaurant itself was really an experience. The walls were really decorated with interesting and nostalgic items and the vibe was really laid back. The fries are thick steak fries, and they were warm and obviously fresh. The service was good as well. The only really thing that disappointed me was the burger itself. I've gone to the Blazer for decades, normaly the food is great. We did take out and I ordered a cheeseburger medium rare. The take out version was well done and dry and terrible If I ordered it in the dining section I would have sent it back. I ate about half and trashed the rest. The wait can be long but there's a bar area you can hang out by and wait. Quality of service is poor when it's very busy, like they're understaffed. Not on top of tables with water refills, asking if the table needs anything when the food gets to the table, etc. Understandable but not when it happens every time it's busy. Main reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because for a pub, you'd think they'd have some nice baby back ribs but they don't do ribs. I wish they would!! read more

Plus, their fries are impossible to stop eating once they arrive. Tommy, the bartender, is great and so friendly. Definitely sit at the bar if he's working, which he usually is. Pretty sure he's been there since the place opened. The place has a great Irish pub feel and laid back atmosphere - perfect for unwinding after work. I've been going here with my family since I was a kid and have many fond memories of playing the bowling game they have in the back. This is a retroactive review, I haven't been up to The Blazer in years, but it was a go-to spot for dinners with my Grandfather ... whose mug is probably still behind Tommy's bar even though he passed away over five years ago. Inexpensive, good hamburgers. They look like hockey pucks and with toppings seem impossible to eat, but very good. Blazer is always packed and seems to be the "hot" spot for those 40+. Apparently this place has had a good rep for a long time. It's small inside, cozy and cute. Very vintage looking. My grandparents used to take me here and I hated the fries because they were huge and thick but with wisdom has come a taste for them. I have not been to "The Blazer" in years. Finally went again. It's an excellent comfort food joint. Great staff, tremendous portions of excellently prepared food. Wings are incredible. Burgers are awesome. A great bartender. Packed to the rafters every night after work and weekends. Waiting for a table is the norm, but they do seat you rather quickly. No complaints. It is every bit as good as I remember from my youth. Just an outstanding local place. They lose one star because it's cash only. That's a semi-deal breaker for me. Sorry. read more
