I attempted to patronize this spot about 4pm yesterday with a girlfriend yesterday as it was recommended. Took a spot at the bar. Waited to be addressed. A party of 4 gentlemen stepped up to the bar to the left of us, were acknowledged and served, a party of 2 stepped up to the right of us, and were acknowledged and served. Once they were served, the bartender finally acknowledged our presence after 10 min and I simply and politely asked is there a reason these parties were served prior to us, he responded very condescendingly that they were members and he knew what they wanted and he doesn't have to serve us at all if we have a problem. Needless to say, you are correct, my dollars will be spent where they are appreciated, we left. I was angry upon leaving and couldn't figure out why a service provider was so illicit in his words. Games! Games! Games! And karaoke! Big space for a NoDa bar. It's all about drinking and games here. They have a decent selection of beer, including local crafts. They have some games like air hockey, skee-ball, darts, pool tables and corn hole as well as some others. The outdoor area is pretty large with some additional games too. The beer is cheap for the neighborhood but the selection isn't up to par. The staff isn't the friendliest, especially the door guy at night. The bartenders sell more fireball shots than I would care to count at night but it can be cool on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. read more

The blind pig is always a fun stop regardless if you have a large or small crowd. Feels like a dive with a bunch of fun games that are good for a wide array of crowds (seriously - everything from board games, BP, air hockey, and corn hole). Also they never charge a cover and seem to have something decent on special every night of the week. Also make sure to send a fun text and see who responds on the big wall. read more

This is our favorite place to go when we are in Noda. Love how many games they have here, my husband and I love games so this is the perfect t place for us. We played the big connect four inside which was fun. The DJ that was there last night was awesome we requested one song and then he based his next choices on that song and it was a great mix of music. Also if the music is too loud for you you can go on their huge patio area which has big Jenga and corn hole boards. Decided to take a couple friends from out of town and drive around yesterday afternoon to show them all the breweries of Charlotte, maybe do a couple beer flights. Ended up in the area because we decided to stop at the coffee shop across the street. While we were there, wanted to show them the Blind Pig because of the game room. There were maybe a handful of people inside the bar, literally nothing going on since it was still before dinner time, and all we wanted was to walk in and show our friends the game room. The bearded pos behind the bar basically chased us out of the bar for having coffee cups in our hands. This is unique situation and probably on its own doesnt help people decide whether to go or not, but I think when you combine this with all the other people who complain about their staff and service, you'll see a trend. Its a cool bar idea but the people are the reason I'll never be going back there. read more

Cool bar with lots of games, a few TVs at the main bar, solid beer selection, large outdoor patio. I usually end up playing pool and darts; occasionally bags outside in the summer. No food served here, but there are plenty of surrounding places to eat. Bartenders have always been attentive and quick. I try to avoid this place Friday and Saturday as the crowd is overwhelming and frequently overserved. The weekend crowd makes the pig feel more like a college frat house. I have seen some oddly humorous front-door procedures on the weekend, including a sign-in sheet and roped line outside. They even had a dress code one night - yes, a NoDa dive bar with a dress code! NoDa is definitely in a transitional state as more development continues to encroach the once eclectic vibe of the neighborhood. Unfortunately, I see NoDa moving toward more of a bar district than an art district. read more

This past Saturday I was visiting Charlotte from Miami, FL & decided to check this place out... Unfortunately, the bouncers kept bullying me around to move from open empty areas. Everywhere I tried to stand a bouncers was there to rudely tell me I couldn't stand there. The bearded bartender was rude... I felt extremely uncomfortable & decided just to leave since I didn't feel welcomed. Unbelievable, they should consider becoming 'a members only establishment.' read more

Day drinking is my jam and this place was great...during the day. Good selection of beers, interesting decor and the bar staff was pleasant. Tip: ladies room door has a "keep door closed" sign which makes one think it's a single but no, duel stalls inside. Life size games and beer? How could you go wrong. This bar is awesome and definitely makes you feel like a kid again. Darts, life size Jenga, pool, cornhole, and beer pong so many options to play! I love the atmosphere and the bartenders are great. My friends and I were getting creeped on and the bartenders took care of it right away. Coming from an out of towner this place is definitely worth visiting. read more

My first time at The Blink Pig, and I can say for sure one of the best bars in NoDa, nice mix of music, fun crowd, loved the outdoor/patio setup, with the games, drinks where affordable, the downfall was 1 mens and 1 womens bathroom, had to wait in line to long to use the bathrooms, and more seating inside would be nice, but for the most part, this place was real lively, I had a great time and will definitely go back again. read more

I've always bar hopped in Noda. I live in Myers Park and my family members were visiting me so I decided to hit up Noda. We had tons of fun until we came to the Blind Pig. The bartenders and bouncers were rude. We weren't aloud to stand literally anywhere. We were a large group of women so obviously for safety reasons we don't wanna split up @ bars. I don't know if it's bc we were a large group of Latina women or what but it just seemed like we were not wanted there. This place should harbor an accepting atmosphere where we can happily get drinks and use the bathroom while waiting for one another. Sorry not sorry. read more

Been here quite a few times with large groups as well as just my girlfriend and I. It is always a great atmosphere full of awesome people and we always enjoy ourselves. Definitely a great place to go if you want to go to a bar and have fun with strangers because all the games inside really give you the opportunity to connect. After last night I'd never go back or recommend this place to anyone. My friends and I went to the blind pig to have a girls night out; but it ended with us getting kicked and thrown out (literally) by two men security guards after asking the bartender to remake our watered down drinks (which we told her we'd still pay for); I even had to send back sprite bc it was flat. She apparently felt "threatened" although we were buying drinks and tipping her all night. She had a nasty attitude and horrible customer service skills. So, me and 2 of my friends left while waiting for 3 others. Next thing you know we see our friends being pushed and thrown out ofter being man-handled slammed on the ground by the security guards; one of my friends were even punched (mind you a male security punching a female in the face). This is a horrible place; how do you treat previous faithful customers the way that you do? The bartender thought we were drunk weren't going to notice the watered down drinks and got upset bc we called her out. The security guards need trainings on how to handle certain situations; no force is needed with women who are complying with your requests. Please do not provide this company with business; they are careless, aggressive, discriminatory, inconsiderate and money hungry. They do not at all care about their customers. Go to any other place in NODA but this one. read more

Kinda torn between a 3 and 4 star review here. The bar itself is kinda dank and dive-y but they also have a bunch of bar games to keep you entertained while you have a pint or two. May just be that its a old building is all. Anyways, the actual area for sitting in front of the bar is kinda on the small side so this isn't really a place that can accommodate that many people to begin with. Plenty of TV's in here though to watch a football game on but they do seem to be a little high up so it's almost like you are sitting front row center at the movie theater. If you are with a group of friends looking to play some pool this is probably the best spot in Noda. Otherwise you may just want to check out another one of the choice bars/restaurants. read more

First time was July 4th weekend and I literally thought I had died and gone to heaven. I had never been to a bar that had a giant Twister game outside or skee ball! (I had just moved from Raleigh to Charlotte in June if that tells you anything). I was very excited to go out with one of my best friends to celebrate her birthday and she had been saying for weeks she wanted to go to The Blind Pig. As I went to order my third drink of the night I felt as if the bartenders were being snobs and rude. Two bartenders blatantly laughed in my face. When they finally decided to come over (and do their jobs) the male bartender referred to my Corona as a Coors or Miller Lite in a demeaning manner and the female bartender explained they were laughing because I wasn't drinking a craft beer like my friend. Needless to say, I didn't think their joke was amusing nor did my friend and what I choose to order should be none of their concern as long as I'm paying and tipping. I went to The Blind Pig for the first time with some friends on Saturday. It's a great dive bar with the added bonus of old school board games like Jenga, Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots and more.
