I went to this location to get my hair styled for a wedding. Having stated this ahead of time, I was surprised to find out my stylist had only been at this salon for 2 months. She took quite a bit of time trying to decide what to do, even though I had requested a pretty simple style, then took me to the shampoo station where she performed a very light circular motion massage of shampoo onto the top of my scalp & then rinsed it. It seemed as though she did a good job blow drying my hair, but then really had no clue what to do with it after that, even though I had gone over the style I was looking for multiple times. She finally turned me over to a different stylist, who proceeded to try to do the style I was interested in, but I regret to say, after 1 hour, the style started to fall out on one side. Considering that I had to pay extra to have a partial up-do (several strands of hair on either side of my face pulled to the back) this was definitely not a worthwhile investment. read more

I love this place! My hair is naturally curly and SUCH A PAIN to blowdry and straighten on my own. I always worry about going to new places or trying new stylists because I'm never really sure how my hair is going to turn out. I've been to The Blowout Bar several times and every single time I've loved my hair! This past time, I was REALLY "blown" away! My blowout lasted for FIVE DAYS! My hair was so smooth and volumized! I received so many compliments... even on day five... Lol! Not to mention, the staff is super friendly and the location is SO adorable and convenient to where I live. Each time I come, I get something different and they always style my hair exactly how I imagined! Everyone is polite and answers any and all questions that I have. I have to say I was not very impressed with the services I received today. My hair is extremely long and I told the girl not to scrub it or it would tangle badly. She washed it ok, but put a conditioner on that she immediately rinsed out, leaving no time for it to take effect. As a result, my hair was badly tangled. I brought my own detangling spray and specific comb I use and she didn't use the product at all. She started to use the comb and then switched over to a wet brush on it and kept pulling it and stretching my hair. I told her very clearly that she was hurting my head by pulling so hard. I was distressed because I am working on growing my hair the maximum I can and would never have treated it this way. I explained to her how careful I am with my hair. I had to ask for more detangling spray because the tangles were not coming out. She blew it dry and it was fine, but she didn't even offer to let me see it in a mirror or even compliment me on how nice it looked. I was disappointed. I left her a tip but felt she honestly didn't deserve it. I won't be back to this place. Staff were severely stuck up, no one spoke to each other, no conversations going on. And for a "bar"? They had water to serve the customers and I wasn't even offered a glass. :( read more

I would love to give more stars but I recently received 2 blowouts, the exact same style-- the Bahama mama --one from the grandview location and one from the Dublin location, and they looked totally different! My first one left me with bouncy, sleek hair and the second one left my hair SO frizzy with tight curls (specifically what I asked not to have.) I was so disappointed in my 2nd appointment because I was seated between 2 mirrors and couldn't see how my hair was progressing and by the time my stylist was finished it was too late! I will say that everyone in the salon was so friendly and kind, I was just disappointed with how a "blowout" can result with such frizzy hair and totally different from my first experience. I'll probably try again but pick a new style. read more

I've never had bad service from any of the staff members though I have to give a special shout out to Gabby & Dakota! For so long I've wanted a place like this to come to the area so that I don't have to try to be fit into the tight schedule at a full service salon just to get a style. I usually don't post reviews, The Blowout Bar, and specifically Desi deserve 10 stars. I'm African American, and have hair that's down to my mid back and naturally curly. I have a stylist that I've gone to for years, and she's great, but I needed an appointment last minute so decided to give blow out bar a try. I asked if they had anyone that could do textured hair, and they paired me up with Desi. No, my hair isn't by any means difficult, but I have a lot of it, and it takes someone with patience to get through it and get it done well. Desi may have convinced me to drive from New albany to Dublin on a regular basis. I've now gone twice, the first style she did was a loose curl that lasted for days. This week she did a sleek straight style and my hair was only ever this straight when I used to get relaxers. Plus, the salon is adorable. Great service, cute shop, girls with textured hair, don't be afraid to give this place a try. read more
