I can't understand why they have a photo of that reality TV star that used to fire people up on the wall, but that's neither here nor there. The staff did seem annoyed that we wanted to spend way too much money getting sandwiches and groceries with them, but at least they were efficient, and the selection is eclectic and fun. They've got fresh wild turkey eggs, a surprisingly great selection of cheese, all kinds of house-cured meats, as well as the standard array of deli meats with which they'll make you some pretty decent sandwiches. There's also all sorts of sauces, jams, pickled pineapple (!) local honey, beer, cider, some bizarrely priced minced dried onion...I had a blast poking around and overpaying for a random assortment of edible delights (although some were more delightful than others). I'd like to come back with more of a plan to try their poultry, or at least some fresh ground beef, the bacon, and more.

I found the barbecue sauce to be weirdly thin in texture and lacking taste. The ribs were extremely fatty. We did not enjoy our meal very much. The service was good, despite how busy the restaurant was. A couple of things were lacking: our table was very wobbly, and our server never came back to fix it after she said she would. Also, we never got any water, even though we asked for it. Honestly, with so many good restaurants in Hudson Valley, I probably would not go back to this one.

I did takeout for my first visit, and I'm sure to dine in at some point. The chicken gyro and fries (which come separately) are what I went with, and all of it was extremely great. I found the gyro to not be quite messy, as many of them I have experienced to be messy in other places. Even for takeout, it was quite fresh. I'm thrilled with the dishes they have to offer.
