Tina will be truthful and honest with recommendation. I had been dying my hair black for years and wanted to make a change and lighten it. I went to Tina to get her recommendation on it. She told me that she didn't think it was a good idea to bleach the hair in the condition my hair was in because of the many years of black hair dye. What she recommended was for me stop the black hair dye and cover only the gray at the roots only a medium to dark brown and get regular trims of the ends until black was gone which I did. The purpose of the recommendation was that by dying the roots and getting trims was so that can later be able to bleach the hair to a lighter shade. The whole process took me almost a year to get my desired shade. I now have a copper reddish hair and love it. I've gotten many compliments on it and I can get away from dying my grays a little longer than when I had black hair. read more

I was denied service today at Tina's Dominican Salon. It was humiliating and frustrating and I wanted to cry. I stopped by the salon two days before my scheduled appointment to speak with Tina, explain that I wanted my hair lightened, show her how dark it is, and ask how much the service would cost. She said...more than once...to make an appointment online. I told her that I would make an appointment, but I wanted to be sure that she would be able to lighten my hair. When I arrived at the salon today for my appointment, as soon as I sat in the chair and showed Tina the color I wanted, she shook her head and said "no." This AFTER I hade asked her about it two days before. She had another stylist translate to tell me that she didn't see my hair well (when I pointed to my head and showed her my hair), she doesn't speak English well (a person translated for her the day I stopped by), she thinks bleaching will damage it (even though there is no other way to lighten it and she's a professional stylist). She continued to make excuses, even after I asked her which darker color she recommended to cover my reddish highlights. I kept explaining that I just wanted the color to be one shade, and dark would be okay. She finally just removed the drape from me and said, "no gusto." Clearly, I was being asked to leave so I did. I have had my hair done by Tina several times in the past. I get that she can't remember every single person, especially if they are not a regular. But, I'm a repeat client and it was obvious she didn't realize that. It was also obvious that she just did not want to do my hair at all rather than apologize for her part in the miscommunication and treat me like a customer that matters. read more

So excited I found Tina!! She is only about 10 minutes from my house. Amazing blow out, affordable and it lasted for several days. She primarily takes appointments and she is pretty busy so she plans to hire more for the salon. She is friendly and laid back. She did a great job. Slight language barrier but it was fine overall! I am so happy that I found Tina. She is affordable, fast and does a GREAT JOB! She doesn't fry your hair like other Dominican salons. The salon is clean and she is the sweetest. Sad to say the beautiful work she does is overshadowed by her poor attitude.. I was amazed by the reviews, and the amazing work she does as I saw on IG, I called several times, messaged them several times, I even drove all the way there from my home in Southwest Ranches to schedule my appointment in person, she did respond to the messages... And told me she would get back to me, that was weeks ago that's why I decided to go there in person. When I was speaking to her asking her about the service I wanted done, she was almost acting as if I was asking her for a handout, I was trying to give her my name to put on the schedule, THE LADY TRULLY TURNED HER BACK ON ME, AND WALKED AWAY LEAVING ME JUST STANDING THERE.... I am not sure of what prompted her to behave this way!! ONE THING IS FOR SURE, I WILL NOT BE SPENDING MY MONEY THERE. And I will surely not be recommending her Hair Salon to NO ONE. read more

I had a GREAT experience at Tina's Salon! A friend of mine suggested I go to Tina's after I had a horrible experience at another salon.....I am so glad she did! Tina brought my curls back to life and gave me a cute/trendy cut...I love it!!! The salon is clean and organized and everyone who works there is very nice and accommodating.
