Ordered an espresso martini that looked like it was poured straight from the river behind the bar--thick, brown, and mildly concerning. Naturally, I renamed it "The River Water." Fortunately, it tasted way better than it looked. Honestly? One of the best I've had. We generously offered Malik some truly awful pick-up lines for his future use (he pretended to be grateful), and he kindly informed me that my singing could clear the bar. Fair. All sarcasm aside--Malik was fantastic. Funny, chill, and knows how to mix a mean cocktail. Ask for The River Water. Just don't sing.

It was an okay experience. Our food came out before our drinks, our waiter communicated that the person on the bar was backed up or busy but she was working on it. The food was good, my husband's food was lack luster and didn't taste fresh but my pancakes really were the best part of the experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The only thing giving this a 2 star rating was the view of the river.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I think if it weren't for that it'd be a poor experience.

I've only tried the Philly Cheese steak sandwich so far, and it was amazing. The service is usually good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Atmosphere is quiet and relaxing on most days.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I usually stop in for a mojito around sunset. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The views are amazing and the cocktails are delicious.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The server did a very good job. My wife had the Filet Mignon, and it wasn't seasoned well. The green beans were not seasoned at all and seemed clearly to be frozen green beans, and the mashed potatoes were okay at best. My wife didn't eat them. I had the chicken and waffles. When you think of chicken and waffles, you think of good waffles and a nice piece of fried chicken. I have included a picture of what I got. The thing that is crazy is that they have fried chicken on the menu. It wouldn't be much more difficult to put a real piece of chicken on the waffles (which were tasty) and make it a more elevated meal compared to the "popcorn chicken" that came with the waffles. Our kids got a pizza, and they did eat all of that. It was fairly good. The ambiance of the restaurant is really quite nice, and the view of the river is very nice. The drinks from the bar were tasty. It's a shame that the food was sub par. This place could be really good if the food was improved.

Absolutely loved my experience here! Decided to eat here for a nice dinner with my boyfriend, and I'm so glad we did. The inside had a great ambiance and the view from the window that our table faced was so pretty We even saw a fox run across the frozen river. The service was great. Our server was so nice and super helpful without being overbearing. The food was also sooo good! I loved my fettuccine alfredo with shrimp, and my boyfriend loved the miso ramen. My favorite part, however, was the watermelon frozen lemonade. It was amazing! HIGHLY recommend coming here if you're looking for a nice dining experience while in the dells.

In short: the only saving graces are their cocktails and mediocre overlook of the river. The first thing that was annoying is that it's entirely misleading; there is neither a single vegan item on their menu nor a vegetarian option, even the fries are smothered in beef fat. Secondly, our waitress (some brunette with a thick accent) was rude from the second she interacted with us. From her condescending tone to snarky comments, I don't know why she chose service as her profession; hospitality is clearly not her forté. I asked her if I could sub out an item containing mushrooms since I have an intolerance, and she said no I would only get my main and vegetable, for $30. I enquired about paying for a substitution, but she just walked away before I was done talking. The food was pretty good, not entirely worth the price, but I get they're trying to sell that "bougie" atmosphere. Cocktails were delicious, but service was absolutely trash and the misleading information they put online about their menu contributed to only getting 1 star.

    Awesome view!

The view of the Upper Dells was nice but can't say anything about the food because the wait staff never acknowledged our existence.

Food was bland, sloppy, with fake cheese. Waitress had no personality. Margaritas tasted like old mix. Will never come here again.

The view is about all it has going for it. Overpriced average food. Much better places to eat in the Dells for the price.

A group of six of us walked in, sat ourself, and I asked a bartender if the kitchen was open. There were two guys behind the bar. They looked at each other and gave a nod. The younger guy said yes, but we are out of the fish fry. No problem for us. We were served by the younger guy and he was friendly, attentive, and didn't treat us as second class as most of our group took water while I had a couple beers. It was pretty quiet when we arrived. We tried a couple apps, and a few different burgers and fried shrimp. Having read about the steak burger, we had high expectations but it fell a bit flat. Others mentioned a sauce, but there wasn't any in ours. The burger with bacon and jalapeño was a banger though! Onion rings and fries were excellent. The curds were good, but I've had better. When it came time to close the check, our server met me as I jumped off my stool. I don't know his name, but gave him a 25% tip. Wish he worked at my place! For the Dells, the price is very reasonable in my opinion. As we were leaving things were lighting up, and getting loud. I got the impression the kitchen was closing even though they say they are open late as the older guy was grumbling about only having two people working. As an owner of a cocktail bar I get that things happen, but I don't like my employees getting upset about it. The younger guy kept his cool - even if he was hoping for more. I do plan to go back for another service and ask about the sauce on the steak burger. Felt weird to talk about it before getting it the way I assume they serve it. Our son is staying for grad school so we have an excuse to try again!

One of the coolest things about it is the several fish tanks throughout the restaurant... they were very well maintained, and we noticed quite a few people getting up to walk around and look at them. The location is also beautiful, surrounded by cabins, condos, villas, and scenic views, with a horse stable nearby and right along the water. We did wait a while to be greeted when we first arrived, but our waitress was friendly and warm once she got to us. We started with the fried pickle spears, Wisconsin cheese curds, and spicy spinach-artichoke dip. Unfortunately, none of the appetizers came out hot, they were more lukewarm, almost like they had been sitting for a bit. We asked for the spinach-artichoke dip to be warmed back up, but even after that, it still wasn't as hot as we would have liked. We also prefer the cheese in dips like that to be nice and melted, and the chips definitely tasted like they came straight from a bag. They weren't very fresh and were somewhat stale. I tried the piña colada, which was okay but not particularly flavorful. My partner had a Spotted Cow and my mom had a Cabernet, and neither had any complaints. Our entrées came out shortly after the appetizers, so we didn't have a long wait. Again, though, the food wasn't piping hot. That said, there were definitely some highlights. The steak was really good and well prepared. The sandwich was also very good.. we were just surprised the vegetables weren't already mixed into it, since we usually expect Italian beef to come with the peppers/onions incorporated. The prime rib was very good as well, and the shrimp was good and came with cocktail sauce. We personally would have preferred lemon and butter with the shrimp, but that's just a preference. The green beans were simple but good especially after a long day at the waterpark! Overall, we'd recommend Rivers Edge to someone looking for reasonably priced entrées in a relaxed, casual atmosphere. It seems like the sandwiches and broasted chicken may be some of their go-to/cash-cow items, while some of the other entrées may be a little more hit or miss. We were excited about the appetizer variety, but the biggest issue for us was definitely the temperature of the food. I'd strongly recommend that the kitchen focus on getting everything out genuinely hot rather than lukewarm. Despite that, the atmosphere and location are great, and it's a nice place to unwind after a busy day in the Dells. I'd give it 3.5/5 stars overall. I'm sure this place is even more beautiful in the fall/winter.
