Chicken and waffle dinner is simply amazing! Ordered using curbside pickup. Staff was grateful and professional!

We used to really enjoy this place when it was the Bog Pub but things have changed since the move. We went for dinner and it was not good at all. My wife ordered the "lobster pie" there was no sauce left in it whatsoever after the broiled it to oblivion. They then covered it in large chunks of those butterfly crackers (not ritz that were listed on the menu) and put it back under the broiler until they were blackened. For some unknown reason they thought they should just go ahead and send out burnt food like it wouldn't immediately be sent back.... I hope they will return to form and are just overwhelmed by the move and covid staffing issues. Very forgettable, avoid this place for a while. read more

I was very excited to try this restaurant as so many people were saying how great the food was but I was not impressed. We went on July17, 2021 around 4:30pm. My friend had the steamers/lobster dinner and I ordered the fish and chips. I got two big pieces of fish but there was absolutely no flavor to them. The coating was not crispy but pulled away from the fish. It was soggy. The fries were not good either. The lime wedges on our drinks were were old looking and the lemon wedge that came with my dinner was slimy. I was going to put it on my fish but the entire lemon was slimy so I did not use it. I'm a life long Cape Codder and I love seafood but was so disappointed in this restaurant. I don't understand the hype. read more

I have wanted to get to the west side of the cape to Bog Pub for years. People from Harwichport see the west as being an overnight venture, I was one of them, but no more. 45 minutes for Pig Wings. What was I thinking. The lobster pie, craft cocktails and chowder were great. read more

Heard about this place a while back and kept hearing the food was great. I live 1/2 away but had a chance to try it this Sunday. Nice place. Good ambience. Our waitress was prompt and polite. We ordered martinis and a mixture of smoked wings / cranberry bbq & have big spice. They were delicious. Great blue cheese dip as well for them. I preferred the big spice. And I had bourbon blue sirloin. It was amazing. Very good. Cooked perfectly. The menu has a great different selections for everyone, honestly I had a hard time choosing because everything sounded so good. Outstanding!! Let's start by saying the curb appeal is hard to describe as it's on MacArthur Blvd (busy highway) but the restaurant is adorable. The welcoming staff accompanied by the atmosphere is what you want, especially after a long day. Paired with its delicious menu, it's a perfect ending to your day. Went here for lunch and was very disappointed. I got the spicy salmon which had no flavor whatsoever. I did not taste a hint of salmon just ground up particles. The burger tasted like mush and was not even warm when it was finally served. We ended up having to wait an hour for our food, on a slow winter day with hardly any other patrons. The Bloody Mary tasted of straight horse radish with a tremendous lack of tomato juice and flavor. The service was also less than pleasant. read more

So went by tonight to get take out and was very disappointed. I ordered wings with sauce on the side and they covered them with sauce. The size and quality of the wings really bad. They always had good sized wings. These were like humming bird wings. I also ordered a Turkey burger with sauce on the side. Again came with sauce on it and too much of it. I'm just going to flat out say it. This place is NOT worth the u turn as their slogan says. From the moment we walked in it was bad. The table and kids crayons had some weird grease, the service was awful and the food did not live up to the hype that we were expecting. Everything was bland and down right gross. The "bolognese" was like a soup with some over cooked noodles, I got the half portion and glad I did, I literally just ate it because I was hungry (and still am after leaving) my husband got the chicken and waffles. The breading was so thick on the chicken and the waffle was so sweet. We will never be back and never recommend this place to anyone. What a disappointment. read more

Sat at the bar. Had the best grilled Caesar salad ever! Real fresh anchovies so they didn't overwhelm. Crab cakes app are home made and tasty. Everything is made from scratch in house and tastes it. Friendly attentive bartender who was also taking care of the high tops around the bar and still had time to chat with his customers, smart and professional. My extended family and I went out for dinner last night and they were really accommodating to my uncle's disability needs. Finding us a table right away that would seat all 7 of us and having enough room for his wheelchair. The bread and honey butter they put on the table was great and a big hit with everyone. The waitress talked right to my brother who has down syndrome which is great because sometimes people talk to our parents instead of him. I can't remember her name but she was really great especially with my aunt and her questions regarding what she could eat with her dairy allergy. My dad and I had a couple of their specials. I had their black and blue pork chop which had a garlic mashed, root veg puree (which seems out of season but was otherwise good). The sauce on that dish was absolutely amazing. My dad had the shrimp and scallops special and the house made pasta really sealed the deal on that for him. Stay for dessert most definitely. Our server Mark was great. And as usual the food was very good. However, we go there to sit outside and look at the view. The patio has plastic sides that can be opened or closed. The choose to keep them closed on cape cod on the summer with our unending breeze causing it to be extremely hot. Apparently the manager has no common sense. This place is amazing!!! The bartender, Monica, was so kind and helpful with the menu! We had the pretzels for an appetizer, which came with a mustard aioli. We didn't want the mustard aioli so the bartender suggested the cheddar and gruyere sauce from the Mac and cheese, and it was so good! I had the best BLT I have ever had, and the kids menu was great too. We sat out on the 3 seasons room on a rainy day and drank our local craft beer. I live in the area and have always driven by it, but never wanted to make the u-turn to stop, but let me tell you, DO IT! You won't find another restaurant nearby with food this good! read more

Good Lord. If you haven't visited this majestic gem of a restaurant then you are sadly mistaken. Not only are the decorations and interior absolutely delightful but it smells like warm maple syrup when you're walking up to the building. Now to the best part... Chef Clancy is a God amongst men. His menu is simple and fresh yet his dishes have amazing depth and flavor. The crust cauliflower are like little love nuggets and the mussels.... I could eat a whole ocean of them myself. As for the entrees... my boyfriend got the slow roasted rib entree special and it was like walking into a precious forest cabin lightly dusted with the first snow of the most magical winter. Imagine small bunnies and peaceful deer basking in the moonlight. I myself got the steak frites... they are to die for. Beautifully cooked hangar steak with a shallot/Red wine sauce? I don't know for sure I'm guessing but it was amazing. My boyfriend .. who swears to hate Brussel sprouts decided tonight that he in fact could "eat them all day". Last but not least we got the chocolate cherry bread pudding and I have never enjoyed a dessert that much. It was jusy rich enough, creamy and accompanied by some amazing homemade vanilla ice cream. The Braveheart farms black angus burger is absolutely delicious. The maple glazed bacon in it combined with the blue cheese is a powerful combination. Plenty of bacon/blue burgers are offered out there, but the added sweetness of this bacon to the savory...my, my, my, excellent. I don't normally get dessert at restaurants but I had seen the dessert menu the previous night here and was seriously tempted. I gave in tonight...the Smores are out of this world. Lots of chocolate, plenty of marshmallows and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Check out the photo, big enough to share. Very friendly and attentive staff. Second time here in two days. It is a gem. Have been here a few times, the food is great! Place is a little quiet, we usually sit at the bar. Most recently we had the steak frites and the catch of the day. Steak was cooked a perfect medium rare and had a nice sauce as well as the fries and some brussel sprouts. The brussels could have had a little more color but firmness was great. The fish was a super thick filet and we were able to substitute the sides for other veggies. Service was great, bartender was very nice and conversational. The Bog is definitely worth a stop if you're on the Cape! read more

Went here on a rainy night - got takeout & it was great! The mac and cheese is amazing - toasted breadcrumbs on top with bits cheese cubes in it. The grilled chicken sandwich was good, but the chipotle mayo is spicer then most. Only complaint is that the sign wasn't lit up so it was kind of hard to find in the dark. read more

Cranberry's doesn't have your typical Cape Cod fried seafood fare.. they have really unique and delicious food that tastes almost homemade. Great lunch yesterday at The Bog Pub. Glad we saw the reviews as we likely would not have stopped based on the outside appearance. Very glad we went. The inside is very nice. Indoor and outdoor sitting, dining room and high tops in the bar. We started with the wings. They were our least favorite part of the meal. We like them crispier, but that's preference. They were large and full of flavor. There were 3 of us. One had the fried chicken sandwich, which was full of flavor and juicy. Another had the cheeseburger- again very good. I had the salmon burger which was very good as well. Additionally, the gentleman who served us was very nice. Definitely a hit and we will gladly go back read more

Great first experience! We were a group of six and everyone loved their food - cleaned their plates for that matter, AND purchased desserts! The menu is limited but delectable (one page menus appeal to me, as my meal selection struggles are positively correlated with increased menu length). The parmesan truffle fries were a hit all around, and the designer cocktails are worth a stop in. The staff was pleasant and accommodating of our individual bill request. Though I wasn't one of the members of my group to order a post dinner sweet, I particularly appreciated the 'small dessert' portions that they offered (those with a sweet tooth need not fret, as they also come in 'shareable' sizes). I'm writing this review while I sit in the restaurant well over an hour waiting for our food. We had our appetizers (bland calamari but tasty little neck clams) almost immediately and then nothing for an hour. No one has even come to check on us. We have 2 small children, there are 8 of us. No matter how good the food ends up being, it's not worth this long of a wait. We are tempted to just walk out since no one seems to even realize we're here. I'm editing this because our food came and it was very good but 2 dishes were lukewarm. The server apologized and they took our apps off the menu and gave us a $15 gift certificate. I wish there had been better communication or at least acknowledged us, we would have been understating. Although the food was good, because of the long wait, we left with a bad taste. read more

Wow, what a great place and it's just a few miles from my house. I didn't realize how good this place was until Cape Cod magazine ranked it one of the 41 Best restaurants on the Cape. The atmosphere, food and service were absolutely fantastic. They have a huge deck/patio out back where they have live music (once the weather get better). I had the scallops and my wife had the gnocci with mussels - both were awesome. Oh the stuffed eggplant appetizer was excellent too. Defintely going to make this a regular stop for us. read more

A little gem we just happened to find. Great service, lovely patio in the back and the weather was perfect even though they predicted rain. My husband and I weren't too hungry but we each had a bowl of the clam chowder. It's not your typical clam chowder but was in a thinner broth with potatoes, carrots, celery and bacon. Absolutely yummy! Then we split the striped sea bass with risotto in a tomato lobster sauce. Absolutely amazing! Highly recommend. read more

Went to The Bog Pub Saturday evening to eat, drink and hear music. Jerry Doherty was great as the entertainer. His voice is pure and the guitar playing was superb. Confession, we went to high school together but have had no contact for over 40 years. He plays Van Morrison, Johnny Cash, John Hiatt, Creedence and the like. You can also catch him in other venues all around the Cape. Eitan, the bartender/waiter, was also superb. He was really attentive to our needs and brought us delicious food and great wine. Highly recommend you check The Bog out for great entertainment, service, food and wine year round. I am happy we are in the neighborhood. read more
