He has a lot of Watches in his shop so I understand why he didn't want to buy it. but when I asked if he could swap the battery out for a new one for 15$ , he tried to hustle me by saying the battery acid had damage to watch more trying to squeeze my money. That is when I asked for my watch back and he got aggressive with me practically threw the watch back at me and cursed me out as I walked out the door. When I got back to the truck I learned that he had kept the battery so I had to go back in there and get it just to know what kind of battery it was! this turned into a nasty exchange of words, and quite possibly the worst pawn shop experience of my life. just another man who invested in natural diamonds, and is going under eventually.

After checking out a few other stores in the area I settled on Arman Jewelry. Upon walking into the store I was promptly greeted by the owner who was attentive, professional and friendly. When I inquired about having the work done he assured me he could do it and literally within 20min the project was finished! I used the time to look around the store and see all of the beautiful and unique pieces of jewelry for sale. After viewing his beautiful selection of jewels it dawned on me that I had not gotten a price from him for the sizing. I realized my faux pas and hoped for the best. When he finished and told me what I owed I was pleasantly surprised. His price was very fair and the wait time was perfect. Next time I am in the area shopping for jewelry I will definitely start off here or should I need repairs or sizing done he will be at the top of my list!

Old fashioned service that is rarely seen these days. Al Giraldo is wonderfully easy to work with. I began working with Mr. Giraldo in 2020 while he was dealing with two business challenges that would have been my undoing. As if the Pandemic weren't enough, Al Momentum's shop in Preston Royal was ravaged by the October 2019 tornado that tore through the heart of North Dallas. While the building with his shop is being restored, Mr. Giraldo works out of an apartment across Noel Road from the Galleria, where he meets with customers by appointment in the building's well-lighted lobby with comfortable seating. My two dealings with Mr. Giraldo have been worthy of recommendation. I look forward to benefitting from his craft in the future.

That's when they told him he needed to put down money "in good faith" before they'd even create the CAD drawing--but they wouldn't clearly tell him how much or explain why. When the first CAD finally came back, it looked nothing like what my fiancé had asked for. Instead of admitting the mistake, they insisted his notes were wrong and theirs were right. Then, when he asked them to fix it, they wanted even more money before creating another CAD. It only got worse from there. They had told him the ring would be ready in time for the week he planned to propose, but by then they hadn't even sent the corrected CAD. He was trying so hard to keep everything a surprise, but eventually he had to ask me to look at the designs to make sure he wasn't crazy. Turns out he was right the whole time. By that point, he'd also gone about three weeks without hearing anything from Mark, so he decided to cut his losses and ask my dad for the name of his family jeweler instead. At the time, the shop was located inside a large wholesale mall near downtown. I wanted to purchase a setting and have my stone mounted on it, which I did. After I chose the setting, they took both the stone and the setting to the back workshop. About twenty minutes later, they brought the finished ring out to me. That's when something felt off. Immediately, I noticed the stone looked different. The princess cut was no longer perfectly square, and it appeared taller in height. It had lost its familiar sparkle. The bright brilliance from the top was gone. I was confused, but at that moment it didn't fully register, so I left the store. I couldn't imagine that something like that could have happened. But over the next few hours, I couldn't shake the feeling that it wasn't the same stone. I returned to the store and told them my concern. "No, it's a beautiful ring and stone," they said. "We had no problem mounting it." As I replayed the experience in my head, one detail stood out. During the mounting process, the jeweler in the back called over the front sales associate, the one who had helped me choose the setting. The two of them looked at something together and spoke quietly. Then the sales associate went to the front of the store to speak with an older man who seemed to be the owner. After a brief exchange, the associate returned to the workshop for another short conversation. The whole time, none of them made eye contact with me. Thinking back, I can't help but wonder. Did something happen? I was young, trusting, and inexperienced in jewelry shopping back then. I had no certificate for the stone, no proof. Only my word. And I was afraid of facing the truth and confronting them. Very infrequently, but when I take jewelry in for cleaning or maintenance, I always stay close to it. I don't let it out of my sight.
