Unfortunately, the service was really slow. Whenever we asked for gloves or additional food, it took quite a while for them to come around, and there were no updates from the staff unless we directly asked. The food was inconsistent. Sometimes, the sauce hadn't marinated enough, especially with the crab, but dipping it in the marinade helped a bit. The other round of crab, however, was nearly just right. The potatoes were pretty good, though they were a bit pricey. The sausages, on the other hand, were quite salty. Additionally, the gloves provided were too large and tore easily, so we had to request more several times. To top it off, they were out of both crawfish and lobster during our visit. On a positive note, our server was really nice. They tried to make conversation, were good about making recommendations, and answered our questions thoroughly. We enjoyed our weekday dinner here. The snow crab was fire. It was the most fresh crab legs and tasted slightly sweet. We also ordered live crayfish which is just starting to ve the season. For sauce we typically get the whole shebang, and it was usually good but a little too much for me this time. Three sauces combined was a bit too much flavors for me personally. There was usually more sauce in the bag too, and we love putting the sauce over rice, however this time we were slightly disappointed. Whenever crawfish season comes around, you bet I'm hitting up Boiling Crab multiple times. I've tried all the Viet cajun joints around DFW, but nothing beats their Whole Sha-bang flavor for me. It's so flavorful and I love to get it XXX spicy. Don't forget to add corn and potatoes to your bag as well! I used to drive to Louisiana every year for crawfish, but I'm happy to have a spot near me to satisfy those cravings. Date night review... This is not a good "first" date place but for anyone else, it's fun and unique. It's best to dine in the bib and have sauce covered hands. We had blue crab, mussels, clams, and crawfish. The corn, potatoes, sausage, and egg are a must. We did need to wait to be seated, but less than ten minutes. It did take a bit for the food to arrive but it was fresh and well seasoned. Wait staff were all super nice. I was even offered a water refill right before I left. This might seem small but it was a very nice touch and hit the spot in the hot weather. read more

The seafood and extras in the boil were good, but not amazing. I would recommend the crab fries. The outstanding part was the service. Our server was attentive and thought of things we might want before we even asked. To go cups of drinks were ready without our even asking. I definitely would recommend this restaurant. It's hard to believe some of the negative reviews are for my favorite crawfish place in Dallas. The food is OK. Crawfish or frozen out of season but that's what you expect. They're a couple. Good options but really it's a crawfish place. Everything else is decent. What stands apart for me is a service. That's why I was surprised by the negative reviews about service. We've been here a couple of times. It takes about 30 minutes for us to drive here but it's worth every minute. The staff continuously check on you. They're prompt responses. We've tried them on weekdays and weekends. It's always the same high level of service. If there is one downside, it is the spice levels. Mild is equivalent to most peoples hot. The boiling crab is my absolute favorite to go to for king, crab legs, and snow crabs I do like the peel and eat shrimp without the heads they are cleaned and the poop vein is removed. I honestly got everything just steamed no butter no added spices and it's always super fresh melts in your mouth delectable. Prices might be a little high, but they're extremely worth it to me to receive quality. I also love their bloody beer. Otherwise no one is Michelada. It's fantastic. Their crab fries are delicious. They're bang bang shrimp is delicious. The decor is kind of ocean style. It's very family friendly sometimes there's a way but they offerputting your name in ahead online which is a fantastic service. Yas! It has only been 48 years until they really decided to open another location in the metroplex. I was lucky to grab a time slot for their soft opening to get a glimpse and taste of that seafood goodness. I still love the original location for its charm but this new one is bigger, better and has a shiny new bar area ;) Located at the old Spaghetti Warehouse building, this spot is the right spot for all northern peeps who always have to battle traffic and endure the long wait at the Dallas/garland location. Very disappointed with this place. I'm from California and have eaten at multiple boiling crabs restaurants and this place does not live up to what I've had so far. Flavor was blah and they actually ran out of corn! It was a random Thursday that we came, so it wasn't busy or anything. So how do you run out of corn? Also, when our shrimp came, there was like no sauce in the bag. Because there was no sauce, the flavors did not seep into the shrimp like it's suppose to. So we ate mostly boiled shrimp. Definitely would not come here again I prefer kickin crab in Carrollton. They actually don't run out of food and is very generous with their sauce. read more

My husband I are from California and decided to visit this location. We got there around 11:30 am on a Saturday thinkin there would be a long line before they opened (as we are used to in Cali). Well there wasn't many people waiting so they sat us right when 12 hit. The staff was very inviting and friendly (straight to the point) which we like. Place was clean.. the place is very inviting. The bathroom and washing area was very clean also (which I always judge the place by how clean their restrooms are) so that was a plus! Getting to the food. We ordered our usual whole shabang shrimp, corn, and rice. Honestly, it was really good! The taste was very similar to the Cali location we would always visit. I don't know if it was because I ordered to go within the first hour of opening on a Monday but I did not have a good experience today. The flavor is always great there was nothing wrong with that. It was the texture of the shrimp. They were so mushy. It was disgusting and inedible. I've never experienced that here before. The crawfish I ordered were frozen because they didn't have live. They're set up for mainly boiled seafood and I can do that easily at home. We came for fried seafood and were very disappointed. The soft shell crabs were very small. They cut two of them into two pieces in an attempt to spread them out around the plate but that doesn't fool as many people as they seem to think. The catfish filets were mushy and fatty. This means that they were not premium filets. These would be more correctly identified as "nuggets" The gumbo was well seasoned and contained a good amount of seafood but had too much okra. Also the roux was thin and watery. I asked for crackers and was told that they don't have any. Hard to believe that a restaurant selling gumbo and raw oysters doesn't offer crackers but it looks like I found one. We won't be back. read more

I was pretty disappointed with my last visit with Boiling Crab when usually I have a decent experience with the quality of food. I got 1.5 lbs of seafood. 1 lb of fresh crawfish and 0.5 lb of shrimp. I was very excited to get it to eat and picked it up right at the time it was ready for pickup. I drove 10 mins to home and was ready to grub. Right away I had a suspicion that they gave me frozen crawfish instead of fresh. A good amount of the crawfish were a little cold, which made me feel like I got cheated with frozen instead of fresh. I follow Boiling Crab on TikTok too and the crawfish they showed were a great deal bigger than the ones I got. Mine were very tiny, and the whole time I felt disappointed with my food. The shrimp was mushy and clearly overcooked. It wasn't a pleasant experience with the quality of food at all, and with such a high price tag attached, you would hope that it would taste better. The whole shabang sauce was too salty this time around too, that I couldn't really stomach it. I'm not really sure I'll come back to Boiling Crab for my seafood boil fixes anymore. I believe their quality and attention to detail has gone downhill and I'd rather give other seafood boil places a shot. read more
