There is a Price Chopper across the street if you need anything else. However, I found the Price Chopper to be quite expensive. Properties are beautiful and well appointed but they are notorious for after charges with claims. My recent stay I was not happy that they don't release the address until check in time especially when traveling 3 hours to get there. Overall, the unit was relatively clean, although I did find hair left in the shower and cobwebs in the bunk area. The hot tub had not been cleaned and, despite being covered, was full of leaves and bugs. The shower water pressure was extremely weak and noticeable cob webs throughout the home. Also, the bunk bed is listed as a king bed, which is inaccurate. Despite these issues, I was happy with my stay and was even considering booking one of their properties again. Several days after my stay I discovered an unexpected $500 charge on my credit card with absolutely no notice or warning. When I checked the app to find out what the charge was for, I found a message from the host simply stating: "stained linens throughout the rental." This accusation was both vague and unreasonable. We barely used the rental and only slept in one of the 3 beds and followed all check out rules to leave the unit spotless. To be charged $500 after the fact, without any prior communication, photos, evidence, or opportunity to discuss the issue, was extremely disappointing and has completely changed my opinion of this property management company. After contacting Vrbo to dispute the charge and multiple attempts to contact the property with no response. northern provided photo proof of alleged soiled linens. 1. A kitchen towel/rag that had signs of food on it (washable), 2. A pillow case with a slight soiled spot (washable) and 3. A towel that had dirt marks on it (washable). All issues were normal use and could be washed and definitely did not result in the need to replace: as requested by northern to the extent of 1. 2 pillow shams (only one was soiled) 2. a new comforter which they had no proof of any damage to 3. New dish towel 4. 6 full sets of towels (only one set was even used - they provided 3 total - 1 set for each bed and the unused ones remained folded in place where they were placed by northern) Potential guests should be aware of the possibility of additional charges, inaccurate bed sizes and most important significant post-stay charges and proceed with caution. Inspect every inch upon arrival and before departure and take photos and videos. Or even better. Don't stay at their properties at all.

We got to book a complimentary tasting session and got beautiful small portions of various options for our several courses to be served at our wedding. The chef at the Erlowest is a flavor genius. It was difficult to narrow down options when everything is absolutely one of the best bites I've ever had. Our wedding coordinator Liz seriously made sure we were taken care of from the moment she began working with us. She impressed me with her professional and prompt communication, personalized suggestions for our reception, and how she made sure we were comfortable and happy on our wedding day. The other staff at the Erlowest took such good care of us and our 100 guests from the night of the rehearsal until the morning after the wedding when they held onto our wedding cake top tier because we forgot it! The only activity with an extra charge was horseback riding; everything else, including the petting zoo, kayaking, rope climbing, biking, and more, was free. Three meals a day were provided, and the food was plentiful, varied, and very good. She is knowledgeable, friendly and willing to explain anything despite her busy schedule. Five stars for her and the other barn staff, but then you get to the resort. This place has a reputation as a dude ranch. They advertise a multitude of rides and ride types. They advertise a rich menu (Kosher). "After a full day of ranchin', you're going to be hungry! Our evening dinners offer a variety of delicious menu options to get you ready for tomorrow's adventures." The variety of delicious menu options for dinner is completely false. You have basically 2 options, take it or leave it. We were given Beef every night, if you didn't want that, they would go back to the kitchen to see if anything else was available. I get it, it's a Kosher kitchen, but there is far more than the same cut of beef that is kosher. There is not even courses to dinner. No salad, no bread, just the main dish if you want to eat the same thing every day for a week. That said the Beef was delicious, just not every day. Your lunch options are Tuna wrap, Egg Wrap, Salad and maybe if you are lucky a 4th option that changes. The food is delicious, but the menu needs a ton of work. BBQ Chicken, hamburger or Hotdogs would be welcome additions for a Dude ranch. The truth is Management has no idea what they are doing. The manager Joseph, who gladly introduces himself as the owner, has no knowledge and no desire to learn about horses, barn animals or anything this place is known for. The manager proudly tells you the resort was headed in the wrong direction then he took over. His direction as he states "to make this a place where jews going between Montreal and NYC can stop to rest and get a Kosher meal." That's great then advertise it as such. There is no posted schedule for activities. You have to ask as they are only open at certain times. The pools are open, there are kayaks and River tubes available at the shore. Everything else you have to ask when you can do it, that is if they even know. The staff is excellent. They are friendly, and do their able best to make sure you enjoy yourselves. It is obvious that they are hindered in this by management. Quite a few staff members told us that our concerns were common and constantly brought up to management. Management then turns a deaf ear. The resort has so much potential. It is on beautiful property. Again they need to decide are they a dude ranch or a Kosher resort that happens to have horses. As a side note, there is no cellular service on the property. The nearest signal is 2.5 miles away in either direction. They claim the Wi-Fi covers the whole resort however the guest Wi-Fi is spotty at best and only works when near the main resort building. If you rely on a cell phone for anything or need to be constantly connected, you are out of luck here.

The hotel sits right on Canada Street, which is the main artery of Lake George's little heart. Shepard Park is practically across the street, full of families, music, and the particular chaos of people on vacation trying to have a perfect time. The staff managed to stay cheerful through it all, smiling with the kind of sincerity that must come from good training or good souls. Parking was a game of Tetris, but I was grateful for the garage. Once my car was wedged in, I had no reason to drive again. Everything that mattered was within walking distance. The rooftop terrace deserves a poem, though I am too lazy to write one. The lake spread out below, blue and calm, and for a few minutes I believed in peace on earth. There is no hot tub, which feels like a crime against nature. The patio outside the pool almost begs for one. Imagine sitting there in January, snow falling into the water, steam rising like forgiveness. The restaurant did not thrill me, and the prices made my wallet flinch. Still, it was a fine stay, the kind that makes you feel momentarily better about the human race before the bill arrives to remind you of reality. Four stars.
