    Brisket sandwich

Happy they gave us an extra round of beers but the food was just good, didn't really amaze me. Price was right though, we were looking for something affordable most options around this area seemed costly- boneyard was reasonable. The meat felt on the tougher side. Big portions but thick and a lot of chewing. Good thing it was doused in sauce. Mac n cheese didn't have much cheese. Plenty of seating and looked like it was family friendly.

We came here for lunch after a 7 mile hike and were starving. We ordered the burger with sweet potato fries and spicy bbq wings. The service was great and Jeffrey made sure to get us all the sauces to try. The food was so good, burger melted in your mouth and came with brisket and bacon. They make their bbq sauce in house, and the spicy bbq wings were HUGE. $17 for 8 giant wings was a great deal in our opinion. We sat outside and the view of the downtown area was really nice.

We ordered the chicken, brisket and pork, all of them were pretty good. Our bartender was super helpful when she came back and told us that the only two beers that we ordered they did not have, but came up with a fun cocktail. Definitely enjoyed their barbecue sauce. When our food first came out, it was cold. The honey they served us was completely expired with a horrible taste and then, of course they were out of a couple beers that we asked for so that was a downfall. But after those got corrected. It was so much more pleasant experience. This place is definitely a cool vibe to watch the games and have lunch.

Pulled pork sandwich with garlic mash potatoes

Brisket: 10/10 it was so tender and juicy! My husband ordered a pound of it and it was so good he ate it all in one sitting! Collard greens: 10/10 cooked in hock soup! So tasty Garlic mash potatoes: 8/10 also delicious! Buttery and good garlicky flavor Pulled pork sandwich: 7/10 the pulled pork was a little dry, not enough bbq sauce. Definitely ask for bbq sauce on the side. I added more to mine and turned out to be much better with that Kids Mac & cheese: 7/10 my husband and I loved it, but not so much my toddler. They sprinkled some cayenne pepper on it which made it a bit too spicy for a toddlers palette Fries: 7/10 these were thick wedges which were tasty. I don't usually like wedge cut fries but here it was crispy on the outside and soft inside. Also had cayenne sprinkled on top which we liked except my toddler lol. Suggestion for the restaurant: please have an option to make the kids meal not spicy Service: 10/10 our service was a kind guy who check in on us regularly and provided us with anything we needed! Ambiance: 10/10 had great music playing. We came Thursday night which I believe was game night. They had some board games left out for customers and play doh for the kids! It kept my toddler nice and busy while we enjoyed our meal :)

Food is not the best. Brisket is peppery and tough beef jerky like. Ribs are just ok nothing special, hard to get off the bone.

Great atmosphere. Fast attentive servers . Food is not the best. Have had better bbq at chain places.

Been to this restaurant a handful of times over the years and have not been let down ever. I have to give a shout out the bar crew special attention to Savannah who made a great SpicedPear Old Fashioned. If you'd had an old fashioned you know they had a citrus hint. The spiced pear hint comes through perfectly on this old fashioned. Not over bearing and not overly sweet. Just what you would want. Great job Bone Yard!!!!

The food is amazing, the waitresses were super attentive, even when it's packed. I liked the meat sampler. The half order of ribs is MASSIVE!

Found this spot when looking for a restaurant in the downtown Big Bear Lake. We were seated right away, and the service was fast on a busy Saturday afternoon. As a group of 6 with a toddler in a stroller, we were able to be accommodated with two tables pushed together. They also have tons of booths for smaller parties. I ordered just the Bang bang Shrimp, and I absolutely loved it. This dish had a bowl of big battered and fried shrimp, with a rice noodle salad, slathered with a semi-spicy sauce. I don't tolerate spice very well, and did feel a bit of burn on my lips and tongue, but I would absolutely order it again. If you want a small plate without ordering an entree, the Bang Bang shrimp order will definitely satisfy. Our group tried the Chicken Alfredo, the Rotisserie chicken, the Philly Cheesesteak, and the buffalo and garlic parm chicken wings. Everyone had a positive review of their meals! I would definitely stop in again, the service was great and the refills kept coming! Get that right, and from me - it's 5 stars.

5 stars for the service. Guy waiter was really nice, great service. They were out of alot of items, but it was a busy weekend. Food was meh pork a lil fatty. Macaroni Iwas dry ribs clda been more tender. Overall the server made it all worth it.

Clam Chowder, Parmesan Wings, Burger + Fries

This review is a bit overdue, but I ordered the Clam Chowder which was enough for me / an individual, and split the wings with a friend to which we both were able to finish after our time there. Overall, great service and wasn't too packed when we decided to visit Big Bear Lake on a whim on a Sunday, last November.

Service was great! This is Big Bear's finest restaurant for great eats! I loved the pulled pork nachos, collard greens; my friends had salmon and garlic mashed potatoes- we were also to watch football when we dined . The manager Jillian came out and introduced herself to us and Leah and Anthony were great, too.

    Gabi A.

We had a fantastic time at The Bone Yard! Jillian gave us the warmest, most welcoming introduction to the restaurant. We ordered two plates... brisket and pulled pork with corn, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and chili! and every single dish was incredible. The meat was truly melt-in-your-mouth delicious. A solid 10/10 experience all around!

    Gohar K.

Had a lovely dinner with friends while on a weekend trip to Big Bear. Spacious restaurant with a nice bar and lots of televisions to watch the games. Very welcoming staff and friendly service. Our waiter was very attentive and nice. We ordered a few things to share and some drinks. I absolutely loved the Bloody Mary I ordered. So delish. The food was ok, it is bar food so. The fried pickles we didn't like but the fries were good. The Cobb salad was delicious but the wings not so delicious. The ambiance is great so it's a good spot to hang out with family or friends.

    The food is really good.?

    It's ok -nothing spectacular!

    Any gluten free options?

They have a gluten-free bun you can use on any burger or sandwich. My wife seems to really like it

One more question!! How are the Bloody Mary's?

While they do use a mix, they "doctor" it up a bit and can make it spicy or mild. I think they're pretty good, plus you get a bacon strip on top.

I was extremely disappointed and honestly disgusted by what occurred during our visit and, even…read moremore so, by the lack of response from the staff after it was reported. To be clear, I have absolutely no issue with restaurants allowing dogs in designated outdoor patio areas. That is completely different from what happened here. A customer brought her dog inside the women's restroom, pulled out a dog pad, placed it on the restroom floor, and allowed the dog to relieve itself inside a shared customer restroom. I had to literally shimmy past the woman and her dog to get out of the restroom while my mother-in-law was still inside. I immediately reported what was actively occurring to approximately five employees who were gathered together at the bar inside the restaurant. Instead of anyone going to address the situation, they simply stood there. No one appeared to take any action while the woman and dog were still in the restroom. After seeing that nothing was being done, I had to approach the employees a second time. Only then was I told they would "have to tell our boss." At that point, my mother-in-law was still inside the restroom, which made the complete lack of urgency even more frustrating. My concern is not simply that a dog was inside the restaurant. There is a major difference between being pet-friendly and allowing someone to intentionally use a dog pad so their dog can relieve itself inside a customer restroom. That is an extremely unsanitary situation, particularly in a food-service establishment. What made the experience unacceptable was that multiple employees were made aware of the situation while it was actively occurring and still did not immediately address it. Customers should not have to repeatedly ask restaurant staff to intervene when something this obviously inappropriate and unsanitary is happening in a shared restroom. Management needs to seriously review both its policies regarding animals inside the establishment and how employees are expected to respond when customers report sanitation concerns. Being dog-friendly is one thing. Allowing a restroom to be used this way and then showing virtually no urgency when it is reported is something entirely different.

There were a a handful of people waiting to be seated when we arrived and the couple before us were seated at the last outdoor patio table available. The hostess told us that we could go upstairs to the bar area and sit anywhere we wanted and a server would be with us directly. So that's what we did. As a side note, the whole vibe of the restaurant was very comfortable and the building itself is pretty remarkable. Water and menus were delivered within minutes of us selecting our table, and our waitress Victoria maintained that same level of attentiveness the whole time we were there. The biggest shortcoming of so many restaurants in and around Big Bear is the bar and their specialty drinks. But this place just slam dunked on every other restaurant we've ever tried over the years - and not just for the drinks. I love a good old fashioned but until last night, every place I'd been to served their old fashioned in a glass full of ice like I was getting a soda at a fast food drive through. Not here. A proper big block ice cube made the "Maple old fashioned" (hands down) the best drink I've ever had. (I think they've got like 7 or 8 different varieties of the old fashioned and I will definitely be back to try them.) Our potato skins appetizer was on another level and that was before our entrees even arrived. My beef dip sandwich was perfect as was wifey's chicken Scaloppini. The timing of food arriving and the periodic check-ins from our waitress was flawless. We spoke briefly with the bartender, Doug (who may or may not have been one of the owners) to express how much we enjoyed our drinks and dinner. The hallmark of a well-run restaurant is that everyone who works there conducts themselves like it's their name on the sign out front. That's exactly what we got from everyone involved. Whoever is in charge of the kitchen staff deserves a Michelin star rating. The rest of the staff is equally impressive. I can't say enough about this place. Excellent drinks, excellent food and dynamite service. If you want a top-notch dining experience in Big Bear, this should be your first and only choice. From now on, it'll be mine.

We're a family of four with a well-behaved standard poodle, so we completely understood that our seating options were limited. What we didn't understand was watching two other families with dogs arrive after us and get seated well before us, along with what felt like half of Big Bear. Our "table is ready" text finally arrived 53 minutes after we joined the waitlist. If the real wait is an hour, just say an hour. At least then we could have taken our dog for a hike, grabbed lunch somewhere else, and possibly returned in time for our table.

Patty greeted us when we came in the door and said we could sit wherever we wanted. She was lovely, very attentive and helpful. Her sister owns the place. She even gave us scads of recommendations for other local places to try and things to do. My husband ordered the chicken parmesan with a side house salad while I got the scallop fettuccine dish and splurged the $3 extra to get their Caesar salad (totally worth it, made in house). Everything is made to order and each dinner came with a board of homemade bread and house made butter for the table. Folks. That bread. Was So Good. Soft and tasty and the parmesan, garlic, parsley butter melted right on it. There was something that didn't hit my palate right on my dish, so Patty offered to get me something else. I decided against that (because the scallops themselves were stellar) but I agreed to some extra Alfredo sauce to mellow out the flavors in the pasta, which worked great! When she learned it was our anniversary, Patty gave us a slice of cheesecake on the house the likes of which I have never tasted before.
