We were recently in Knoxville visiting family, and my spouse and I had a very good meal at Elkmont Station, located in western Knox County, in Farragut. The menu had a nice variety of foods, good cocktails and non-alcoholic cocktails, excellent liquor choices, as well as good wine, and quite good service. We had Pappardelle Bolognese (handmade pappardelle pasta, ground short rib, mirepoix, aged parmesan - delicious), Roasted Carolina Trout (with sweet corn and okra purloo, garlic green beans, citrus herb butter - very good), and we added a wedge salad. Dessert was a chocolate and strawberry crème brûlée. The interior is both modern but with some rustic wood elements. Nice table appointments (silverware, glassware, cloth napkins). Nice bathroom fittings. We sat in one of the more private booths, along the wall. The tables are well spaced apart. We chose this restaurant without much research, and were pleasantly surprised because the menu, drinks, ambiance, etc., did not feel particularly "Knoxville" or overtly "southern". Our excellent server was Andrew. We will certainly return, the next time in Knoxville.

Overall, my review is similar to the one that I wrote awhile back. The main amendment now is that the place is a bit noisy. While there, I could barely carry on a conversation because the poor acoustics carried the noise from all the other tables. So, not a good date setting if it's full. Food wise, I'd rank it as one of the better options in West Knoxville. Great selection on the menu and I've enjoyed everything I've ordered here. Service remains pretty good. Overall: Recommended. But, caution if it's busy and noisy.

We had an extremely positive experience at Elkmont Station! Part of that positive experience was having reservations because they do get busy on weekend nights. We were drawn to this place because it's one of the few in Knoxville with beef Wellington. Everything from our fried cheese appetizer to the beef Wellington to our drinks was amazing and our waiter was so attentive and kind. The restaurant is not overly loud, but from certain seats, you do have a view of the kitchen, which can't be entertaining if you're like me!

Lamb shank over deliciously creamy polenta $49

Our 51st anniversary, so we made reservations several days ahead and looked forward to a scrumptious meal and a romantic evening. The restaurant is larger than it looks from the outside, and when patrons walk in, they are greeted by an elegantly appointed dining room with wagon-wheel- like chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, a chef's bar on the right, tables in the middle and a full classy-looking drink bar in the back on the left. We asked to be seated in one of the more intimate booths, but alas, there are only 3 and all 3 had been reserved that evening. Instead, the hostess directed us to a 2-top near the wall and across from the bar. Barrett (sp?) announced himself as our server and did a wonderful attentive job taking care of us. NOW, to the food. Here's where the restaurant, in my opinion, lost a star -- my spouse thinks 2 stars because his entree did not meet his expectations. I started with an Old Fashioned cocktail for $16, We brought our own bottle of wine, and Elkmont Station charged us a $20 corkage fee for the screw-top bottle we opened ourselves... no cork. We ordered a seared scallops appetizer ($18) with the mollusks served on mini-pancakes and dotted with a cream sauce that lacked any distinguishable flavor though it was tasty. Apparently, they came with brandied apples, yet we couldn't detect any. Regardless, they were unique and good. My $49 lamb shank was served over a delicious, creamy-and nutty-flavored polenta (apparently with a mushroom twist). Absolutely delicious polenta! The shank was tender yet Costco sells an Herb de Provence lamb shank, and when prepared correctly, tastes equally as good. The Low Country Bouillabaisse my spouse ordered ($30) was nothing he had expected. It consisted of white fish, hominy, fingerling potatoes and mussels in a clear broth (no scallops that the menu had indicated). A small piece of herb-buttered and broiled crusty bread sat on top so diners could soak up the broth. He could have ordered more bread, yet that would have cost extra. We also had to raise our voices to hear each other as the restaurant was noisy. We walked out with a $147.70 bill plus a sizable tip - a hefty tab for a dinner where we expected just a tad more for this momentous occasion.

Good food, drinks, staff & atmosphere! I had their Girls Night signature cocktail. The pimento cheese fritters & filet mignon were delish!

Have been twice now and both times have been great experiences. The vibe is warm and inviting, and the staff have always been friendly and attentive. But the best part is the food. The Duck à l'orange and Elk Chops are perfection in both taste and presentation, and the craft cocktails are definitely worth a try. And of course it's one of the only locations in Knoxville to enjoy Beef Wellington.

Cheers to great food... not an average menu or presentation .. tastefully presented in a warm and relaxing atmosphere ... thank you Horatio for being a warm and inviting server and your recommendations were a hit! Starting off with muscles in a curry sauce.... My only recommendation is I would love a handful of beautiful noodles put underneath that sauce because giving up that sauce once the muscles were gone was hard for me.!!! Second appetizer was the scallops which are one of my favorites as well ...placed on top of an amazing white sauce that was perched on a mini pancake with candied onions off to the side ... the scallops were the best I have ever had!!!... and what an amazing presentation Unfortunately, our dinner, which was wonderful was not photographed. My husband and I split the crispy skin salmon, which was great, and my son had the duck..which he's had before and gave us a bite and I will say I've never had that before and it was amazing. ... it was featured on his plate with grits that were cheesy and beyond delightful and greens off to the side of that.....a beautiful plate. My husband and I both had the jailhouse cocktail which the vodka was what is available at the BUSHY Mountain prison if you've ever gone there... on one of their tours!!!... there's a vodka bar after....wonderful drink... we actually had two!! I hear the brunch is wonderful and I can only imagine ... kudos.. the atmosphere was amazing. The service was perfect and the food was exceptional.... if you've not tried Elkmont station, please put it on your bucket list.

Made reservations and had a great meal. All 4 in our party enjoyed their dinners. Food arrived hot and tasty. Waiter was attentive. Restaurant was nicely decorated but loud, which made it difficult to talk across our table.

I've driven by here multiple times, tempted to try but, higher prices and good but not great reviews kept me away. The reviews over the past 4 months however have improved by a lot, mostly 5's so I had to give it a try. We came early on a Saturday and had two appetizers and one entree. The portions were much larger than what I expected. The Smoked Cheddar Hush Puppies consisted of 4 Puppies in a bowl with a roasted poblano aioli at the base, I had 10 good bites out of the two I had. Rich but not overly dense and lightly fried along with a delicious aioli to dip them in. My wife choose the cheese board. The board had 3 types of cheeses, candied pecans, a toasted baguette and mostarda. It was a nice mix of tastes. The Short Rib Gnocchi was outstanding. The ragout was well done and the ricotta gnocchi was dense and filling. The service was excellent. The ambience I would describe as rustic elegant. It was better than expected and a great addition to Farragut.

Friends if you remotely in the area make time for this spot. Everything was absolutely delicious. We went on Sunday evening and it was a quiet and intimate spot. Service was excellent. The Green Beans were perfectly done. My soup was excellent and the salad was a great mix of ingredients.

What an amazing find. Casual dress, 5 star dining. Andrew was our server and he did NOT disappoint. Great recommendations, attentive, knowledgeable. If you like whiskey, this place is a must. If you like exceptional food, this place is a must. My party had the cheese plate - such yummy offerings - and fried green beans for apps. Entrees of duck breast, pork chop, a seafood special, short rib, and steaks. The sides are out of this world - Brussel sprouts, greens, butternut squash puree were BIG hits. Or whiskey fans loved the GreenBriar Dylan, which is an experience at the table - do it! The old fashion was outstanding and comes with a cookie! Other mixed drinks were inventive and delish. We will be back. Thanks, Andrew!

Elkmont is a gorgeous and delicious addition to Farragut. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The kind you know if you come back a couple times they'd remember your name. They also really know the menu too. Their suggestions were perfect. We started with the scallops. They were cooked perfect, and the bacon cream whatever was under it complemented it perfectly. It didn't overpower the dish at all. Next we shared the Short Rib Gnocchi. Again, perfectly balanced dish. Delicious and filling. Finally we finished with the cream brûlée. Classic and delicious. Drinks were a couple different old fashions and an Appalachian Club Paloma. They were perfectly prepared, and cery We will have to return to try more.

It was about 3:00 and the restaurant was on a 45 minute wait. We decided to sit at the bar and have an appetizer while we waited for our table. They were unusually busy because of college graduations. We had a shrimp appetizer which was recommended by the bartender. It was delicious! It had the right amount of spice for us. Our table was ready right as we finished our appetizer. The hostess was very polite and asked us if we were celebrating anything special.. We were promptly greeted by our server Elisabeth who was wonderful. She told us the specials and inquired if it was our first visit. We ordered the espresso rubbed ribeye w/ a baked potato & Caesar salad. We decided to share a steak and ordered an extra wedge salad. Everything was delicious. The steak was a perfect medium. The butter that is served with the bread is heavenly. I was thrilled with my Caesar salad that had anchovies on top. My wedge salad was amazing. This was one of the best steaks we have ever had. Before our meal, they brought out their cheesy crab bread, and unfortunately I didn't snap a picture because we all devoured it within minutes. It was that good! I ordered a half pound of crawfish, a half pound of snow crab legs, and a lobster tail with the Cajun seasoning, "Make It Hot." Everything was delicious! The snow crab legs were packed with flavor, and I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the lobster tail--it was incredibly meaty, buttery, and cooked perfectly. The boil also came with sausage, corn, and potatoes, making it a hearty meal. I also have to give a shoutout to our server, Amanda. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. She checked on us often, cleared the table as we finished, and gave great recommendations when we had questions about the menu.
