I like the location of Brass Tap as I feel its a central location to meet with friends. Loris has great customer service. She is attentive and always smiling. Nowadays it is really hard to find good customer service and I appreciate her welcoming vibe and makes the experience even better. We went again and had the most perfect time. Tonight they had live music, reggae with a little soul. Not too loud and it added a great vibe to the evening. What we appreciated was since we don't eat beef they offered "impossible" meat which is the best tasting substitute out there. Chicken wi gs were excellent and as always the drinks were perfect. We were able to try a new dessert they offered. It's a whiskey cake or bourbon with vanilla ice cream . OMG... out of this world. Can't wait to come back here time and time again. Let me just start off by saying the service and food were GREAT. Everyone was super attentive and welcoming. But this place is not family friendly - both the men and women's bathrooms do not have a changing table. 80% of the restaurant is strictly a high table tops or bar seating which in result we had to wait about 25 mins for a regular table. Which was fine, because our 1.5 year old roamed about their garden area which was really cute. They also only have about 4 high chairs and we had to sit down our toddler in a regular chair until a family who was using one left and gave up their high chair of course. Honestly, I'm very excited that a place like this has opened up so close to home but it makes me feel some type of way that yet another business in the peninsula doesn't take into considerations families. again, the staff were great! And some super apologetic when they realized the high chairs and changing tables weren't available. read more

Went here for a date night, and the vibe of the place was great. The host was attentive, and the server was helpful. We got seated very quickly. The drinks are good, but let me tell you the food service sucks. It was about 15 mins from sitting down till we got our drinks, which was fine. But it was well over an hour for the food which when we got it, it was cold and the meat was dry. We ordered the steak nachos and american burger. How long does it really take to make it? Even though it's a Friday night, they said it wasn't even considered a "busy" night. I overheard some of the guest next to us, and they had the same issue with the wait on the food. I'm not planning on returning, but I thought to let anyone who is interested know. If you do plan to come plan your night accordingly because your going to be there for a while. read more

The service was terrible! We ordered our appetizers and 45 minutes later they arrived. Our server ONLY came when we chased her down and we are super kind to servers! We know it's hard work! We never asked for anything special. We only asked for the things we should not have had to ask for, napkins, plates, forks, waters. A table of 4 next to us walked out on their drinks because our server never came. She never checked on us and we finally go our own to go containers at the bar and walked to the front to ask for our bill. read more

Service staff are rude (It'll take you 10 minutes before someone comes over to take an order). They have a variety of beer option, but that too takes 15 minutes to get delivered to your table. Overall, this was a chill spot to hang out with the girls for a meal, our server struggled to describe the menu and assign our dishes to our table so one dish arrived 10 minutes after the others due to a mix up. However, I would like to give some grace because this was pretty close to opening week and we visited on a Saturday around 4pm! Our server was also very positive and kind :) CSUMB students have been waiting for this place to open for a while so I was so excited to try it! The restaurant seemed to cater more to the older clientele and the indoor seating was a little bit close but still very comfortable. They had so many sauces and I wish there was a way to sample them all but you kind of just have to buy them individually for $.50. My favorite was the Utah sauce similar to chipotle mayo but a little bit thicker and well seasoned. The ranch didn't taste like restaurant ranch for all the ranch enthusiasts out there unfortunately but we enjoyed our food and we will definitely come back to try the happy hour drinks in the bar section read more

Been here several times since golden ticket opening night. I enjoy hanging out there but consistency is still an issue. Been there when food is fast/slow, wait staff attentive/ignores, food good/returned. When there are issues, management never comes to address with customer. I know it's the holiday busy season and I feel that I am a patient person, but the service tonight was very poor. The greeter made no attempt to find a seat for us. That's fine, I understand it's busy. However upon entering to find a spot along the self seating area, I noticed three open tables. It took about 20-25 minutes for a waitress to notice the group next to us and take their order. As she attempted to walk away, I politely asked if we could also place an order. The exchange with the waitress was pleasant, however it took about an hour for us and the group next to us to receive our food. That's fine, understand it's extremely busy. When the food arrived, the waitress noticed that I didn't have any utensils. She said she would bring a set. Those utensils never arrived. She never checked in with us. Food was great! After finding a set of utensils and finishing the meal, a different waitress arrived to apologize to the group next to us for the long wait time and comp'd their bill. Amazing! I asked for our bill right after she fished with the group next to us. We did not receive the same courtesy, despite having the exact same experience. I own and run a food/service business. And I felt insulted. The staff needs additional training in order to be aware of ALL the customers and the experience. Food was excellent, the service was not. I don't see myself ever returning. Love this sports bar! Decent bar food, friendly staff. Although it's in a shopping center still under construction, which really kills the neighborhood bar feeling I typically go for, this place has such a great layout for enjoying the game, indoors or outdoors. I got a side of burger with my wax paper wrapper. My wife and I went for lunch, and I ordered the All American Burger. My issue was that the kitchen left half a paper wrapper on the cheese when they cooked it. The bite of the burger was full of waxed paper, which kind of ruined the meal. Mike, the manager, told us he talked to the kitchen about it, but basically, it ended up being a ruined meal. VERY DISAPPOINTING read more

We came in the first week they opened and I noticed a difference in the food quality for sure. We came on Thursday night and the place was busy. We had a party of 5 & had numerous apps and beers. We had the loaded tots, bang bang shrimp, pretzel, Mac n' cheese bites, pickle chips. All were hot and freshly made. The beer was good but could've been a little colder. The Brass Tap just opened on Monday April 29th. It's been so busy that I couldn't get in until yesterday the 2nd of May. Really a great place to enjoy great food and drink. I've tried the nachos, pizza and burgers. All are delicious and recommended. Plenty of tv screens to enjoy many different sporting events. I highly recommend The Brass Tap. read more

Stayed at a nearby hotel headed up Highway 1 from LA to Seattle. The Brass Tap was surprisingly good! Perhaps the best pub nachos I've ever had! Great fish tacos as well. Nice local beer selection. Our server was great and attentive. Went to watch a big soccer game that was going on and they didn't have the game on any tv. They even had bowling but not the biggest match going on that day. How ironic for a "home of a soccer watch party" place yet they don't show soccer games. Two other families were there for the game from Gilroy and Salinas. Disappointing.. We had the chip sampler, the chips tasted old and were not addicting like most chip platters are, the steak tacos were lacking steak and felt rubbery. Flavor was not there. The pizza dough needs work, the hamburger patty's were a let down and felt as though they had been frozen along with the French fries. This place has so much potential.
