We were super excited for this place to open. We love beer and always need a good spot to go watch a game. It's been so busy every time which is great to see! They have cool outdoor seating and it's a seat yourself style restaurant. The first time we went - the food was awesome and we were excited to come back! The next time we came back - we ordered the Brussels sprouts and they were essentially steamed which was not what we were looking for, the waitress noticed and took them back and they came back... the same. We came back and ordered a buffalo cauliflower dish where there was maybe like 1/10 oz of sauce on them so the waitress brought us more sauce but it was just awkward. This place has become my go-to place for Sunday football fun. The staff is always in a great mood and on point to grab what you want. My bartender, Deb, called herself a "wings girl," so her recommendation was on point. I had the Korean BBQ wings, and they were killer. Big meaty pieces that will fill you up. Decided to stop in for a late lunch. For my brew of choice, I had the beer zombie duck hunter 7.2%. Really great IPA, I definitely recommend it. There was alot to choose from on the menu that sounded great, but went with the loaded tots with Brisket. I liked it for the first few bites and then couldn't bear to finish. The whole thing was inedible due to the overwhelming amount of salt. The service was very slow, but no one was rude. We sat on the other side of the bar on the patio and it was really nice! I will gladly enjoy a beer on the patio again anytime. I'll be back to try other things from the menu and to enjoy the same beer, but I know for next time to avoid the loaded tots. read more

The Brass Tap is the newest Sports Bar and Grill in South Reno. So far, I have been there three times and so far, every time has been great. Although the place is always packed, I have always managed to find a seat at the bar. The customer service is great. The food is good, and the prices are reasonable. To be honest with you, all 3 times I had pizza and a salad. Very good pizza by the way. The next time, I will try something different. 10/14/24 So this is a Brand new spot . Went opening day / evening 10/14 and place was already packed. It's self seating and we were able to get at the Bar for 4 of us . They have lots of seating but was a busy night. They have lots of TVs for sporting events and a nice outdoor patio seating and bar window seating as well. The food took a little bit to get out as it was so packed and being a new place food was decently warm maybe could be a little warmer but all in all was good . I had wings half and half Korean bbq and brown sugar bourbon was delicious. Had a little of the Hot Honey Pizza and that was good too. South Reno needed a place like this! They have a wide selection of beers-they are big on local breweries-and they offer all the bar food your heart desires. Don't come here expecting anything to be or taste amazing because again, it's just bar food. It does the job when you want to eat a burger, have a beer and watch a game. There is plenty of seating, inside and outside, but because it's new, it can and does get busy and fills up quickly. There are TV's on the wall so you should be able to watch your game of interest. I've sat at the bar every time I've come in and had a decent experience with most of the bartenders. One seems a bit too spicy for my palette but the guys have been very nice. J is awesome and super friendly! This place is definitely poppin, probably because it's a new spot but I hope it stays busy, just know that before coming, it's the new hot spot in the area. Opening day 10/14/2024! It was a beautiful sunny South Reno day to enjoy the outdoor patio at The Brass Tap. Rolled in and patrons were getting their tap on. No shame in a little day drinking if you a responsible retired community member! Full bar is also present for you hard liquor folks. The boo and I order steak tacos and one American cheese burger with crinkle cut fries. The food came very quickly. Not only was the food really tasty The Brass Tap was loaded with flat screens inside and outside. Outside patio has fans and ceiling heaters for those Tapping in winter conditions. So, being my first time at brass tap, I wasn't overly impressed. There was 9 of us girls because it was supposedly ladies night and drinks were five dollars on just a standard liquor with one mixer. There was supposed to be a raffle that for every drink you got a ticket and there were supposed to be prizes. Nope. One of our friends called the night before and this is what they said. They also said on their website that if you showed them a special that they're having and you took a picture of it they would honor it for a burger and fries and a beer for 12 bucks. So most of the people in our group had a round, one person had sparkling water and one person had just a regular drink at regular price. At first, the waiter did not want to honor the $12 he said only one per table, but then he checked with the manager and we all had a picture on our phone That they honored. A burger, fries, and a beer. So four of us got that and the other people got Caesar salad and one person got a pizza. The pizza was tasty. Our friend said the Caesar salad was very tasty with chicken on it. The fries were mediocre. Not much seasoning on them at all. There is no salt or pepper on the table, we had to ask for it. Then one of the parties had asked for garlic fries. There was no garlic on the fries so they brought out another batch with no garlic on them. And they charge you a dollar for the garlic. Here's where the problem is When we got the bill. The bill was $217.00 with no tax or to yet then there was a discount because of the burgers and the happy hour specials, which they took three dollars off each drink. Which brought it down to $155. The problem was they automatically tipped us 20% on the original total of 217. Not the final bill of 155.00. 155.00 +43.50 (tip on 217) + 12.80 (tax) total 211.80. Which I think is a little sketchy. I've never heard that. They usually automatically tip you or charge you a tip for a party of eight or more, which is understandable but on the final bil, not the pre-discounted bill. I don't agree with what they did so they gave themselves an extra 11 bucks on the tip. Don't know if I'll go back. So please make sure you check you bill before leaving. Schmeh!!! read more

Chill vibe and with good weather open patio. First Manhattan had a bunch of ice chips second one solid. Gummy bear shots are delicious but wish they'd toss in an actual gummy bear on a skewer for fun. Didn't try the food maybe next time. Nice to see a new place in the Damonte Ranch area. Great place to meet friends or to have a drink and get something to eat. My wife and I just needed a place to pop in and out of, have a beer or a glass of wine, and eat a quick appetizer. We had the Boom-Boom Shrimp and it was excellent and filling enough for two people. The one of two things I can ding the place for, and it really isn't something to blame someone for is the noise. It is loud when it is even half full. The other is that the service is a bit inattentive. We sat at the bar and there were times when we wanted something and we had to wait quite a while to get the attention of the server. A buddy and I stopped here a couple days ago. I've been waiting for this place to open as I drove by it all the time. We stopped in a little after lunchtime and it was full of people. The place looked nice and clean, of course it was a brand new building and business. We were greeted immediately and had us pick our table. They had a lot of drink options on tap. I ordered the 2 blackened cod tacos. We also had a pretzel and Mac and cheese bites. The appetizers were great. The pretzel was soft and fresh. The Mac and cheese bites were delicious. They came with dipping sauces. After a few minutes, I got my order of fish tacos. They were great. The fish to vegetable ratio was perfect. They tasted great. I'd order them again. The Hangover Burger hit the spot. What really delightfully surprised me was the home fries, which reminded me to never judge a book by its cover. They came out in abundance looking bleak and sad. The second I put one in my mouth, I wanted more. They were perfectly seasoned and delicious. Our server, Jessie, was personable and made us feel very welcome . The Brass Tap opened a while ago in my neighborhood but the reviews were not all that favorable, so it took me a while to try it for myself. Well, I've been there twice now and I was pleasantly surprised. I've tried the Smoked Brisket Tacos, Poblano Chicken Tacos, The Side Tap Salad and The Steak Frities. The tacos were both solid with the brisket tacos having a slight edge over the chicken. The side Tap salad was huge with some extra touches like real bacon crumbles. The steak and fries was a great deal, the ribeye served was a thin cut and the Parmesan fries plentiful for unheard of price of $26. I'm glad I ordered medium rare as it arrived a little closer to medium but still with a pink center. The only negative with the steak was that the cook was too heavy handed with the salt which put a damper on my total enjoyment. Our server was excellent and if I could remember his name I'd give him a shout out. read more

Came in for happy hour hoping to find affordable prices in the neighborhood. For happy hour they had $10 for two chicken tacos and $9 for Brussels sprouts. The sprouts could have been cooked longer, they were tender on the outside but still too crunchy on the inside and a little pale in color I prefer more charred and crisp. The tacos were decent. The sangria was $6 a glass and I thought it was refreshing and well balanced. Service was great. Looking at the non happy hour menu I thought the prices seemed incredibly high- $26 for 15 wings that's a lot. Most of us in South Reno know how desperate we are for restaurants. So it was so exciting for Brass Tap to open! I see the mixed reviews though which is too bad. I personally have been twice and have had good experiences. I actually really liked my food, same thing both times which was the steak tacos. Second time I upgraded from chips to fries as my side YUM. Rating is 4 stars because I'd like to see more cocktail options, the raspberry lemon drop I unfortunately did not like. I love me a lemon drop but it didn't seem to be made well or maybe it was too strong (my preference is not to taste alcohol whereas some people might like that). They have a ton of TVs and a great patio. We sat outside on opening day and then at the bar the next time, we would like to watch a football game here but unsure how early you need to get here given that every time we drive by (every day basically haha) it seems to be packed. Cute Xmas lights outside right now too. I hope they can get some more solid reviews and I hope my experiences continue to be good as I'd love to make this a go to spot. read more
