Brick oven cheesecake
Sarah A.

So I'd heard of The Bread Board as Falls City is a town close to where I live. But I'd never gone because my thought was "it's Falls City" what can be good in a town that tiny?" I mean you blink and you're through it. What a poor attitude I had and I'd missed out for so many years. One Friday night I decided hubby and I would drive out and try it. It was PACKED. We hadn't rea9they were doing a geology fundraiser that night. The place is small, and has limited hours so be sure to check that out if you plan on going. But in the summer there is outdoor seating. The menu was small and on a chalk board as you enter. Only about 8 pizzas or so to choose from and all one size... very large. We later learned the top few pizzas are ways available as a choice. The bottom ones change depending on the local ingredients they receive. Love that. We couldn't decide between a few and when we got to the counter were told we could do any two and they'd do a half and half. Yay! We decided to be brave. Half pepperoni and half apple, bacon, a d honey. Yup. Sounded odd to us too. That's why we were brave! While standing in line we noticed all of the baked goods on the counter. There was a cheesecake with one slice removed that had been brick oven baked and hubby was debating getting a slice, but decided against it. The pizza did take a little longer than I would have liked to arrive to our table. But, again, they also were slammed due to the fundraiser. They stopped by our table several times to assure us it would still arrive. When it did.... yummmm. Perfect thin crust a d wood fired pizza. That odd pizza? Yeah, we couldn't get enough of it. Hubby later went in to get another drink and noticed the cheesecake was near gone. So he made sure to grab a slice anyway lol. I don't do cheesecake, but hubby said it was delicious!! We highly recommend the Bread Board and are looking forward to going again this summer when they have live music.

A little overrated but good overall. We had the candied bacon pizza with Gouda and tomatoes. It was tasty but there were burned bits, expected with a wood fired pizza. The inside room temp was hot and the fans were not enough to combat the wood fire oven. Negative was they charge $1 for a to go pizza box.

So amazing! Such a tasty Apricot tort

The food was really good and the employees are also nice. The pizza oven is huge and is wood burning.

My Petite Sweet, opens at 8 am so you don't have to wake up at the crack- of -dawn afraid of them selling out of items you want vs. sleeping in on your vacation. They close at 3pm so you have time on the way home from whatever day's activities you were doing, to pick up some dessert for an after dinner treat. My Petite Sweet is a great stop for quick, sweet or savory ready-to-eat breakfast items. The employees will ask you if you want your items warmed up and are more than happy to do that for you. There are several tables and chairs available if you wish to enjoy your items on-site... ...but THIS is where My Petite Sweet SHINES ABSOLUTELY ABOVE-THE-REST: Upon entering, you will be greeted by a HUMONGOUS refrigerated case that is remeniscent to me of the magic and excitement I felt as a child imagining finding the "Golden Ticket" and touring "Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory! " My Petite Sweet has an ENDLESS array of YUMMY confectionery so tempting you just want to tell the employee, "I'll take one of everything," because it's so hard to choose. Most of My Petite Sweet's items are little masterpieces so beautifully decorated you hate to ruin them by biting into them! Once you do, however, you experience the taste of something so INCREDIBLY SCRUMPTIOUS you will ALWAYS make this your first stop when you arrive in Lincoln City, or perhaps even making My Petit Sweet your reason for traveling to LC in the first place! I'm glad I live 90 min away or I would be here every day to try something new. Of the many items I've tried, I have enjoyed each one! On each trip I discover a new favorite (or two, or three! ) My Petite Sweet's portions are huge, the prices are reasonable, and the employees are friendly and helpful. Also, don't be afraid to stock up on your trip. The employees pack the items individually, and they stay very fresh in the fridge. ENJOY!

The earthquake cake was fabulous; it was not a soft cake, it was very dense and full of rich chocolate, cream cheese and chocolate chips . It was extremely filling. The two women who helped us were very polite and very patient as we took forever to choose from their delicious options. They had a massive selection of treats. A true sweet-treat paradise. The ambiance reminds me of the old candy shops I would go to on the Oregon coast, which brought back fond memories. It would be helpful if, instead of a large sign that said 'bakery,' it had the business name. Nonetheless, this place was great, and we will definitely be back.

There was a couple playing chess on one of the bistro tables out front, and two elderly gentlemen having a lively conversation about local politics. This is just my scene! We ordered a marionberry danish and a sugar cookie, both of which were fresh, delicious and well-priced. The staff were super friendly and offered us a sample of freshly-baked dog treats for our pug Penelope, who we had in tow. Ask the bakers about their recent visit from Abraham Lincoln, it will make for a fun story and laugh. I hope you decide to visit this gem of a bakery, and tell your friends about it too!

Here's what we've had AND highly recommend: Chocolate cupcakes Lemon cupcakes ANY deli sandwich on their made-fresh-daily focaccia bread. (you're welcome) Scones (All flavors, but my favorites are the hazelnut chocolate chip & the maple & the lemon flavors) Hubby loves all the danishes (esp. the berry ones) This place is a little gem in town that shouldn't be missed. Enjoy!
