Went to the Seafood Restaurant at the Breakers tonight for dinner with 2 other Latino couples. Everyone was well dressed, we spend money, acted appropriately but we were told twice by our waitress that a table near by was complaining about us. You could barley even hear in this restaurant - for anyone who has ever been here before, I know you know how loud this place is. I complained to the management that we felt discriminated against, then told us that they could no longer serve us and that we needed to leave. It seems as though the Breakers did not want our "element" there. They were rude, condescending and flat out racist. To think we spent 1000 .... I guess our money doesn't mean anything here because we are a bit more tan then the people that frequent this place. We are extremely disappointed as this used to be one of my favorite places. A charming old World hotel. The Italian Restaurant is their family restaurants with a playroom and right next to the playground. We decide to try the Flavors of Palm beach menu, 3 courses for $ 39. They have nice but small wine list that is pricey but this is a 5 * hotel. They serve 3 different breads, Italian, Focaccia, and rolls with an excellent pesto, roasted red pepper spread and olive oil. For starters, we had the EGGPLANT ROLLATINI, mozzarella, Parmesan, ricotta, and homemade Tomato Sauce and a MARGHERITA PIZZA with tomato sauce, mozzarella, and basil. Both were very good. For mains, my wife ordered the CHICKEN ALLA ROMANA, chicken, bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, over spaghetti in a light tomato sauce , very good . I had the SHRIMP ALLA TOSCANA, shrimp, cannellini beans, kale, tomato, and white wine over linguine also very good. For dessert, we had the WARM CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES Freshly Baked and the S'MORES PIE dark chocolate cream, toasted marshmallow meringue, graham cracker crust, and vanilla ice cream. The hotel was as luxurious and comfortable as you would expect. I was blown away about the tranquility and happiness of my experience at The Breakers in the Imperial Suite. The hotel will blow you away from the moment you come through the gates. The architecture, views, etc. are all magnificent. The amenities are fantastic. I especially enjoyed all of the pools, shopping, and restaurant options. We had a few enjoyable snacks and drinks at the aquarium bar (I recommend the truffle fries and filet sliders). The pool side restaurant had a very preppy, yacht club and great sandwiches. I found a cute little candy shop with fun gifts and great gelato (inexpensive, by the way, which is rare at the Breakers). The Imperial Suite was as nice as you would expect. It was spacious with plenty of room to host any other guests you may have. The service to the suite was impeccable. We loved the new decor of the suite (recently renovated) and I especially loved the design in connecting room to the Imperial Suite. Around the resort you will either feel like you are in this classical, grand, sophisticated building or on a modern, relaxing, preppy yacht. I appreciated the mix of feels. You will be guaranteed top service, top food, top rooms, top views, top experiences. Don't miss out on an opportunity to head out here. It is worth the cost. read more

Great place to visit as a local or visitor! We had the opportunity to see a luxury wedding going on, which was really neat. You can learn some of the history of the building as you are walking through. There are multiple restaurants, rooms to stay, ballrooms, valet parking, and all of which back up to a gorgeous beach view. Highly recommend. read more

What a great choice I made to stay here! Beautifully appointed suites with fresh flowers ,assorted choc truffles and gourmet candy box to greet us. They must have a Michelin chef as I had the best Pecan crusted grouper with coconut lime sauce and fresh lobster and crab seafood club sandwich with truffle fries. All with ocean views and an aquarium bar to watch fish under your martinis as you drink .The buffet breakfast was a treat as well from farro to mushroom frittatas to choice of pastries to a personalized omelette station. Too bad we missed the big Sun brunch with added full seafood selection. Service was fantastic - very warm and welcoming. Definitely memorable experience and worth every penny. read more

This is an iconic hotel, and Italian Renaissance-Style of the building is beautiful. But the bar area decor is cheap and out of sync with this grand hotel. Hate seeing this trend in hotels, this hotel is not contemporary, and there is a way to get the right vibe, but I guess when the guests no longer care to look presentable, they can hang out in the bar that suits them. read more

We went to celebrate a friends birthday and treated him for brunch, the food was excellent, the prime rib was my favorite along with the pates, the omelettes made to you le likings were also good. The mimosas kept flowing at all times. I did read the comments about the cost but hey it is the breakers and you go there for the experience. To be honest, it's a miracle I made it back to Miami. The last two hours of my stay at The Breakers, I was racking my brain trying to figure out some way I could stay in our room's bed forever. You see, the entire weekend was pretty rainy and windy, making pool/beach time a no go, but that was ok. Why? Our bed was heavenly. Now, you probably don't want to drop hundreds of dollars on a nice place to sleep for a weekend, but it was a perk. We also had a partial ocean view and just being able to open our windows and hear the waves crash was worth it. From the second I stepped out of the car, I felt taken care of. We arrived a couple of hours before check in but still got our room. We were celebrating an anniversary and received a nice chocolate bar and note from the staff which was a good touch. Not sure if I enjoyed that or the Norman Love chocolates that were waiting on our pillow after turndown more. As for other amenities, the pools are nice and there are a couple of jacuzzis to choose from. The beach was closed due to the weather but they had some kayaks and other water toys to play with when it's nice. There are some shops, including a cute coffee and gift shop, on property. There are also a handful of restaurants. We grabbed dessert at HMF after dining out at one of the off property restaurants, Echo, and breakfast the next morning at the Beach Club. You are going to drop a pretty penny on even the most simplest of orders but that's just part of the experience, I suppose. Did I mention the bathroom has a TV worked into the mirror? I never knew I needed to watch Chopped while I curl my hair but I totally do. Every single day. Wifi was free, the bath products nice, valet parking overnight $20, and it's an amazing wedding venue. Sofia Vergara got hitched here a couple of weeks ago and there were two weddings just on this one night we stayed. I told my boyfriend we should make a stay at The Breakers an annual tradition. Pretty sick venue for a wedding. As you turn into the driveway leading to the hotel you'll be in awe of it's size and opulence. The Breakers' old school look and long history reminded me of the setting for the great Jack Nicholson film... The Shinning. The decor is charming, but geared for an older demographic. Waves crash maybe 20 feet from the side of the hotel, which is both amazing and scary (I wouldn't want to be holding down the fort during a hurricane!). Service was consistently good, but not as hands on as a Park Hyatt or Four Seasons. I had room service once and had an ok experience, unfortunately my eggs were runny. If you stay here you've got to splurge on an Ocean View room, it's too dramatic to pass up (and you'll be paying a pretty penny for any room in the hotel anyways). read more

We got married here just 2 weeks ago and 5 stars just isn't enough for this hotel worthy of a billion stars. Our wedding weekend at the Breakers was so unbelievable that we actually considered just staying in Palm Beach instead of jetting off to Hawaii for 2 weeks... After tons of meetings at the breakers over the past year I've made this my second home (i can only wish), but driving up to this absolutely breathtaking hotel still takes my breath away. Kym Bichon was our wedding coordinator at the Breakers and if anyone knows how to plan a wedding it's Kym! She's the first wedding caterer/planner I've dealt with, but I can't imagine anyone being more efficient than Kym....she was always finishing my questions as I asked them (yep she's that good) and made sure every detail was just perfect. I'm quite the perfectionist, but I had no qualms about anything while in Kym's hands. They put us in in the most swankiest ocean view suite for the weekend (about 3 times the size of my apartment in Chicago!) and after being treated like royalty i'm already planning future anniversaries at the Breakers. After my experience here I think this may very well be the best place in the world to get married, but it's also quite a nice place to vacation...you can find it all at the breakers (the beach, a relaxing pool, incredible food, top notch service, and more). read more

The restaurant HMF at the breakers is an absolute disgrace. If you want to have a good time do not come here. My mother who is a grown adult was cut off after one drink for her "safety". We are staying an elevator ride away and she was cut off at 10:22. The waitress proceeded to ghost us and completely leave us at the table with no assistance with our bill. "Once you stay...you'll understand" ....boldly stated on the homepage of their website....and NOW I know why. What an experience! Very expensive but you pay for what you get. The entrance and lobby...such grandeur! The bedroom and bathroom was clean and quaint, I appreciated the tv and the generous toiletries in the bathroom. Our beverage bar was opened and we initially checked in. We contacted someone in housekeeping and they immediately rectified it. Definitely did not want to pay for something we did not utilize. The amenities of the hotel are generous to say the least. There are Peloton bikes and cool free classes in the gym (took full advantage of them). The food is pricey in every restaurant and I wouldn't say it was the best food I ever had. There was lot of space to relax by the many pools. The bar areas however, were very crowded. The customer service was impeccable...my family was treated with utmost respect from the staff. I loved that they had restrictions for non-guests but non-guests can take advantage of the restaurants. YES this is a beautiful place with stunning ocean views. However my family took me here for a Mother's Day brunch. The Breakers opened up an empty ballroom to accommodate the large reservation list... this was more like a cheesy wedding than a Mothers Day Brunch. For the price is was absolutely NOT worth it. The food quality was good but the selection was minimal. The service was just down right awful. I had to wait to have my drinks including water refilled many times. And I also had to remove my own dirty buffet dishes from my table and out them on an empty table. Not one waiter came over and removed my dishes. That is absolutely not acceptable. NOT WORTH IT!!!! I would love to stay at the hotel one day but have to safe up a little since a room can run you $800 a night during season. It's was fine. That's all. I have spent vacation time at several 5 star hotels/resorts, and I find myself very disappointed. The buildings and grounds are beautiful. THE NOT SO GOOD: 1. The rooms are small. Considering the age of the hotel, that is actually fine and obviously understandable. The room, however, does not reflect the price. 2. The closet light turns off when you shut the doors. We had to battle ours every night to get the light to turn off. Even better, we listened to our neighbor battle theirs with the bang of each attempt. Neat idea, but bad quality. I'd rather have a simple switch. 3. We were at the beach all morning. There was nothing available to drink other than water and no food (like how about just a banana and maybe a muffin?) until 11:00 unless you want to go to a restaurant instead of the beach. 4. At lunch, there were no smaller, healthy, filling options if you eat small meals like me. Oh, unless you want a hot dog and barbecue potato chips for $17 (yes, the adult menu). How about a simple fruit and cheese plate instead of 5 hamburger choices? 5. The staff were all friendly, but there wasn't really anything beyond that. The service was fine, not exceptional. I've experienced exceptional. I never experienced a feeling of the surprised smile I get when service goes just a little beyond expectation (I'm not spoiled, I'm laid back...heck, I'm a volunteer photographer for an animal shelter...I regularly roll on the floor attempting to get great shots of rescue cats, so that says it all). If they were to do that, it would get billed and tagged with the never ending 20% service charge. 6. The beach? NO. There was ALWAYS trash at the foot of the staircases leading down to the swimming area. They don't put out lounge chairs or umbrellas. You have to take care of that yourself (never experienced a 5 star beach resort with this lack of set up). The water? Eh. The sand? Dirty looking with lots of little broken shells to cut your feet as experienced by one person in our group. 7. There were back to back weddings that swallowed all the available cabanas (they didn't bother to make others available to rent) and rental trucks are a standard sight on the grounds. This has been a difficult "vacation". My 12 year old daughter actually started to cry because of disappointment and wanting to return home. My 17 year old turned down my offer to get her a sweatshirt. We live in the wealthiest school district in our state so I thought she'd like to show off a little. She actually refused saying she didn't want to give the place free advertisement. My suggestion? Go to the Maya Riviera. Our entire group (about 30 or 40) agreed that one trip to The Breakers Palm Beach was enough, no need to go back. read more
