While we were visiting my cousin in Coeur D'Alene, we found this good breakfast place in DNTN. What a Gem! We had a short wait before we sat at our table. Our waitress was on the spot with 2 cups of coffee and water. I ordered 2 pancakes with a side of pork sausage. The pancakes were light and fluffy with an amazing taste. My wife had the Hawaiian omelette with 2 pancakes. She said the omelette was cooked perfectly and tasted very good. The service was great and the prices were reasonable. Service was friendly & the atmosphere was perfect for breakfast & lunch diner. Wish they were open for dinner too! I ordered the Reuben with soup (chicken noodle). The sandwich was decent with plenty of meat & sauerkraut. I liked that the 1000 island was on the side (really great flavor) and several slices of dill pickle helped cut the greasiness of the sandwich. The soup was disappointing. While it had plenty of chicken, veg & those nice thick noodles, it sadly lacked flavor & seasoning. One friend ordered hash browns with gravy & a ham slice. Both were delicious! Loaded Biscuits and gravy were very delicious. It was all high quality ingredients and tasted delicious. My only concern was something happened in the cooking that smelled awful, and then I found the last two bites tasted like it smelled. Burnt cooking oil or something. I would still recommend, but there's room for improvement on what the serves chose to put out. read more

This is a nice breakfast spot in mid-town Coeur d'Alene. We came in here for a family breakfast while we were moving into the area and didn't have a kitchen. There was a little bit of a wait for us to be seated (always a good sign), but it wasn't too long, which is also nice. After we were seated, our server was friendly and helpful. She did a great job of making my kids feel welcome (always a nice touch). They were busy, but not super busy. The menu is very robust, they have a lot of options. My kids got pancakes. I ordered the steak and eggs. The food was, good. It wasn't bad, and wasn't great. The service was friendly but a bit slow, and after we eventually got our food, we barely saw our server again. Overall, we liked this place and will definitely be back. However, we weren't "blown away" by any stretch of the imagination. read more

this is my first time at this restaurant. The service was awesome. My son accidentally spilled water and they ran over with a smile to help clean it up. My son had a full stack of pancakes, which was massive, and I had the ground steak and eggs, which was incredibly good. I don't do too many of these positive reviews, but this place was not only really good, with good service, but it was super reasonable as well. I use to got to this place years ago then something happen and I started going to Harlow's in Rathdrum. That place either changed ownership or something and kinda tanked so I can back to try this place again and it was the right choice. I had breakfast and my wife had lunch and it was perfect and large portions. The servers were all so nice and helpful it was such a pleasure here. I am gonna stay here for sure I will not be going back to the other place. Just wish they had one in Post Falls. read more

We decided to try this Resturant in CDA and glad we did for the first time. The food, and service was great! We only waited for 10 minutes before we were sat at our table. At the risk of showing my age, I remember eating at the Breakfast Nook when they were on Sherman Ave between Sixth and Seventh. Their biscuits and gravy was divine even back then. It's been a long time since they moved, and the wife and I went in for breakfast after I had a long, early morning flight. I got a half order of the biscuits and gravy this time around, and it was still massive. I also got two eggs and hashbrowns. Eggs were cooked perfectly. Hashbrowns were just crispy enough. I would have enjoyed more crisp but they were still good. Your coffee cup doesn't have a chance to go empty. Great, great place. read more

Been coming here for years. I just ordered the eggs Benedict. There is one super thin piece of shaved ham on it. This is definitely by far the worst eggs Benedict I've ever had. Woke up late while staying at a local hotel, visiting our son in CDA So we missed the free breakfast, so off to find a breakfast in town , we checked the Yelp reviews and choose The Breakfast Nook ' The food was by perusal of the menu, standard dinner breakfast fare.. we had pancakes, Eggs and bacon .. to Me it was all just good food nothing to special , now the service was something else, this place shines for the people, all the servers went out of their way to be warm and friendly, really nice people. The restaurant was decorated in the usual breakfast theme ... roosters , funny signs .. etc. Prices were very reasonable. If you're hungry and want a real breakfast this is where you need to be. Traditional American diner type restaurant. Good prices. Huge portions and super yummy. Im a huge coffee snob and there's was delicious. I ordered a veggie omelette that was actually filled with veggies not just a couple of tomato and onion pieces. The egg was fluffy and flavorful. Asked for hot sauce and they bring out a handful of choices. I don't usually eat potatoes (because I can't not because I don't like the). I ordered a side of cottage cheese and fruit instead of potatoes. It was a meal in itself. My husband said the hash browns were the best he's had. Will definitely eat here again. read more

This place has been on my list for a while and with a name "The Breakfast Nook" that builds high expectations. There was almost nothing about this place I'd change. We got in just before a rush and there was only one party before us. By the time we left the list was a dozen long. Lemme tell you, the wait is worth it. The service is so spot on, the server seats you with menus, water, & coffee so there's no wait to get the most important part of the meal. Order was taken quickly and food came out in 10-12 minutes. Order was 100% correct, too. Two very important things they know here, how to cook an over medium egg and what a medium rare steak looks like. So happy we chose to have bfast here. Robin our server was very friendly, the food was definitely good and a must try if you are ever in town. Very busy place. Obviously a local favorite. So be prepared to wait for a bit for some seating. The small amount of wait time is worth it. Close enough to the freeway to stop in, but far enough from it to avoid the noise. I've been to the Breakfast Nook twice and the food is just awesome. It's as good as any of the other top breakfast joints in town. I had the steak and eggs the first time around and the pork cutlet the second and they were both spot on fantastic. The portions are large and the prices are fair. I left stuffed both times. The service was also spectacular both times. The entire staff seems friendly and waitresses were on point. They do a great job of keeping your water glass filled and making sure everything is OK. So why only 4 stars? My second time in I sat at the counter b/c it was just me. And all was well and good until I realized that there are two carts of dirty dishes on the other side of the counter at either end. I understand that from a logistics standpoint this might be optimal for the staff but from a customer standpoint I think it's kind of gross. This was really a downer as I sat down in front of one of these carts and then decided to move two seats down to avoid it. I'll probably avoid the counter form no on but the food and service are so good I just have to go back. read more
