First this I must say is the menu is simple, a simply perfect American breakfast menu. If you are not in for the eggs and home fries - they have a nice selection of fresh baked muffins to enjoy with your coffee. Second, service Is quick and friendly. Been there many times and setting aside the "English muffin Incident" the service has been always perfect. Third, their homemade home fried potatoes are the best in the area. My auntie lives nearby on the Cape and she raved about this place. So we went to breakfast there on a quiet mid-week morning and it was lovely. It has a very down-home vibe and the waitresses are all very friendly. Lots of oldsters were hanging around drinking coffee and it seemed like THE Place to gather round. Not that roomy and I am told it can get busy on the weekends with lines of people outside waiting to get a table. The food was very good-I made sure to impress my extreme desire to NOT have my omelet brown or burned at all and they got that right. I looked aghast at the home fries which looked pretty dark for my tastes and Auntie Gail insisted that's how they are cooked out in the Massachusetts sticks and to just try them. Sure enough-though slightly dry, they were supremely delicious. A popular item here, I'm told is the "Big Deal"-for $7.89, you get 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, 2 pancakes or french toast, and home fries or toast! Wow! Oh-before I forget-they accept NO credit cards at The Breakfast Nook. For my large frame, the chairs were on the dainty side. We chose one of the few booths to sit in and I still felt squished, but maybe those Pilgrims that settled this area a long time ago were on the small side? No complaints except for this: I love fresh-squeezed O.J. When I travel, I insist upon it. I believe that the extra fiber, enzymes and vitamins in it help me stay healthy and not fall a victim to floating diseases that snake through the aircraft air duct systems. No fresh OJ offered here, so I would just gently suggest that if the Breakfast Nook could acquire a good supply of Florida oranges, it get to work squeezing some soon. read more

Cons: -There is no waiting area when there's a line, so everyone's just crammed together in a tiny space, blocking the entrance & exit -There's not a good seat in the house (well, maybe one): almost every table & seat is crammed right next to another table -The sign-in process is dicey: they tend to get confused on seating who's next -Table turn over is slow -- it takes the staff a while to bus an empty table, so your wait (on a weekend) is that much longer Overall, food is somewhat above average, but it's an uncomfortable place to dine when it's busy. read more

We just ate at this wonderful little diner! My wife and I split the Mexican scramble. It had poblano peppers, andouille sausage and roasted corn! It was absolutely delicious! My parents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this weekend and they mentioned this to their waitress. The owner came out and told them congrats and that their breakfast was on him. Amazing service and great food! We will definitely eat here again! read more

I almost feel bad leaving such a poor review, but the food was not good. I got the corned beef hash with scrambled eggs, homefries and wheat toast. The hash was good, but tasted identical to the stuff I get in a can. The eggs were very off putting. They had a bizarre taste to them and were bland. The potatoes were rubbery and everything on the plate had a burnt taste to it, as if they didn't use enough oil. I got a couple muffins to go that I am yet to try, so I may update later. I know people complain about how the place seems outdated, but I kind of like the charm it gives it. read more

My family and I went to this place for breakfast on vacation yesterday morning. A lot of disappointments but not the worst. -first of all, we were waiting FOR EVER. There was a table not even being used because they ran out of chairs, and a group of people done eating waiting for their check for 15+ minutes. It's a small place! That's where the 2 stars comes into place. - not one time while we ate did anyone come up, ask us if we need a refill, ask if everything was good, nothing. - we had to wait so long to get our check I had to get up and ask for it. We told the girl bussing tables "check please, thank you!" And she looked right at us, smiled and said OK then didn't do it. Guessing she didn't hear us and instead of asking what? She just ignored us. -after I told the manager I need my check, she apologized for the wait, went in the back, and continued to do other things for 5+ minutes while we waited. Overall, we spent about an hour and 45 min at this place (about an hour longer than it should take to walk in order and omelette eat and leave. -3 stars. Prioritize! A great honest breakfast served by a very kind and attentive staff. I went here with my family for brunch during a week-long vacation to Sagamore Beach. The seven of us came in on a Saturday and, despite the restaurant being busy, we got in within 20 minutes. The hostess made sure to keep us updated about the table status along the way, too. I ordered the house stack of french toast with strawberries on top and my wife ordered some sort of smorgasboard with eggs, sausage, bacon, hash browns, and pumpernickel toast. My french toast was delicious, as were my wife's sausages (deliciously savory without being too greasy) and toast (love pumpernickel). The only minor gripe I have was that I'd much prefer hot, real maple syrup as an alternative to the fake maple syrup available on each of the tables, even if it's an option I have to pay a dollar or two more to exercise. I can't say good enough things about this place. Thank you Yelp for helping us find a breakfast place on our way home from the cape. I had a veggie egg scramble and it was really good, with delicious multigrain toast and home fries! My boyfriend had blueberry pancakes that were fluffy and covered in butter and powdered sugar. Ice coffee was served in a mason jar, what a cute detail. We purchased lemonade from little girls running a stand in front of the restaurant during our short wait for our table. Towards the end of our meal our friendly waitress told us the manager took care of our bill because we were the first customers to stop at the lemonade stand, what a totally unnecessary but sweet gesture. That alone is worth the visit and what we would come back for. Just stopped at this local place today to eat breakfast. They have all the usual breakfast stuff, plus a light lunch menu.They close after lunch and don't offer dinner. I ordered two scrambled eggs, with a slice of "country style" ham, which came with home fries, and my choice of toast (I always choose raisin toast where available. If it's not, I'll go with an English muffin).To drink, I had a glass of orange juice. Everything was tasty, although the service was slow, because the place was so packed. This is a very popular place! Prices are cheap enough, and staff are friendly, so if you don't mind the wait, you'll end up with a tasty breakfast.
