First let me say the owners and staff are super nice! This has been the only place we go for breakfast for the past couple of years! Always had great service and food was great too! However for some reason the past few months, the food has been lacking and it takes twice as long to be served. We went this morning and it took over a half an hour to get our food. Several other tables who came in after us were served and done with their food before we even received ours. We had to ask where our order was. Several other customers also had to do the same. The food has also changed. In the past I was always very pleased with the quality but it seems different and just not as good now. I hope the owners take this as constructive criticism because it seems like they have worked very hard to build their business. I would hate for them to be unaware of potential problems. read more

Breakfast until 1pm! We could not find anywhere with late breakfast nearby, so that is a winner for us. Food was EXCELLENT. I got a Portuguese hash with home-fries - delicious. So us low life walked in with 2-decafe/almond milk coffee's and were asked to leave this place. There was 5 workers 3 customers and they were worried about the coffee we brought in, as if they could have made us one, no chance. So we took our heavy wallets as we are good tipper's any ways, unless service and food stink. When we go to other place with others coffee we tip a bit more knowing that its not always best etiquette but it s never been a big deal. Good business sense here 2 coffees $10 2 breakfast $35-40 tip another $12-16, have a good day with your yokels! It always blow us away when we come back to New England born and breed, I was and some little dump is all upitty about the small stuff.....in AZ were we reside it has never been an issue anywhere, loosen up man life's short! PS: we found the best homie joint and they didn't give 2 hoots about the coffee, they thank you for sure as will there review. My first time here. Small and super busy. They make their muffins from scratch, which always impresses me...not Costco muffins. I had the ham scramble which was very good. The eggs were perfectly scrambled. The home fries were extremely plain, but really tasty. Usually places but so much salty crap on them. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat. read more

The Nook is a local place but it didn't hit the mark for us. My home fries were not cooked thoroughly, nor my fried eggs. My husband said his omelette was okay. The ladies room needs a deep cleaning (a bit on the gross side) and the sink was clogged. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. My husband and I had a wonderful breakfast date there on a summer weekday morning. It wasn't crowded at all, but I can imagine it could get crazy on the weekends A pretty small place, very comfortable and homey. There was so much on the menu that we wanted to try, but you can only eat so much. We ended up splitting "The Works" omlette and a stack of blueberry pancakes. Every thing came out piping hot. The pancakes were NOT drenched in melty butter, but there was cold butter on the side, which I prefer. They had the perfect amount of blueberries in them. I can't remember what was in the omlette, but it was divine. Cheesy, but not too cheesy, Fluffy. Full of meat and veggies. Served with homefries, which we good, but not as good as the omlette and pancakes, so why waste precious stomach room! The coffee was good, the waitress kept refilling it. At one point one of the cooks walked by with a PLATTER of freshly cooked bacon....I said something like "Maybe you could spill a couple of pieces over on my plate..." He smiled. Next thing I knew, he brought a plate over with a couple of strips of the best bacon EVER!. We will definitely be back! read more

Go in either door. Seat yourself if there's room. Kind of a small place but really popping while we were there. Staff was right on top of things and it didn't matter that we weren't regulars. My uncle just bought a house in Buzzards Bay and we we got the breakfast here for the first time this week. Small place but so cozy and the staff is awesome! Homemade everything and you can tell the minute you take a look at their muffins in the display case, as well as specials menu. We all ordered off the specials menu and the owner John came right over to us to ask how everything was. When he saw that I ordered the pastrami egg sandwich, he brought over a free one for the rest of the group to try. Let me tell you, this place is known for their smoked meats, and it's obvious once you have that first bite. The food was so good that we ordered takeout to bring back to the rest of the family who didn't make it out to breakfast that morning. As I watched everyone huddle around the kitchen table and verbally expressing their satisfaction, I knew that we found our new breakfast spot! Go here, guaranteed deliciousness! read more

Worst breakfast I've ever had in my life. This food makes me wish I stayed home and had cereal. First I got ridiculed when I asked if my son could have chocolate chip pancakes instead of toast with his steak and eggs even though I was clear about paying for the difference. She finally agreed, and my son got pancakes, without chocolate chips. I asked for a grilled muffin really well done. She brought me a plate with a mangled pile of muffin crumbs as if she had put it in a plastic bag and whipped it against the wall 9 times. Then says "something happened when they were trying to get it the way you wanted it." And how was that? Pre-chewed?? I ordered a veggie scramble which resulted in a mess of canned vegetables in near raw eggs. They actually took $5 off the bill because of the raw eggs. And all this blessing took place while shooing away flies. Flies at the end of November? How nasty do you have to be to have flies in this cold weather? The best part was the explanation of why our food was so bad. Apparently a large take out order took place before we ordered. How that explains anything really is beyond me, particularly since the place is half empty. Should have been our first clue. read more

It has been a while since I have been there so I can not speak for current things. My wife and I spent about a month in Wareham, MA. I ran across this little place while on a motorcycle ride. I like counter seating and visiting with folks where ever I travel. I must say that after the one stop by myself, my wife and I made this a regular breakfast stop. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was exactly what I ordered. Even the customers were gracious. It was my wife's first trip to the east coast and the second time we were there she asked me, "Do you know everyone everywhere?" I do not know everyone everywhere but I know good folks where ever I find them. The staff and patrons of The Breakfast Nook made us feel at home. I would recommend this place to any traveler who enjoys food and people . read more

Took them 25 minutes to take our order (we only looked at the menu for a second since we knew we wanted pancakes). Then after putting in our order for 2 short stacks of pancakes it took almost an hour for us to get our food! The pancakes were pretty small and there wasn't anything special about the taste. I also noticed the way the waitresses carried the drinks around with hands all over the glasses and holding them up against their shirts so they could hold a lot of drinks at once. We stopped there on our way back from cape cod. The food was good and the service was ok. Our total came out to be $14.50,and I placed a$20 bill. The server asked if we wanted some change which I felt was ridiculous because I feel like paying a$5 tip for a $15 meal was 1/3rd of the amount. This place is very small but comfortable. The food was excellent but took a little longer to come out which was totally fine. I don't mind waiting for quality. Our party of 5 couldn't sit together due to it being crowded. We sat at a 2 person table and our kids sat at the counter. There were 2 things that I didn't like. They would not accommodate my daughter's nut allergy. This would have required them to cook her pancake in a pan like they cook eggs. I was disappointed that they couldn't do this. They would rather my daughter sit there with nothing to eat since no outside food is allowed. The second complaint is that no substitutions were allowed on my food. I simply asked to have my bacon and home fries well done and they considered that a substitution. I think they should work to be a little more accommodating to their customers. The food was excellent so I do recommend this place but beware if you have food allergies or need any accommodations. read more

Wow. This place was great. There cinnamon roll was to DIE FOR and my son ate every bit of his pancakes. The baked goods were coming out of the oven as we arrived and everything looked outstanding. Scrambled eggs were very good, service was excellent. The only complaint and the reason this review is 4 stars and not 5 is that the bacon was really, really overdone.
