Dropped in on our way back from a show during SXSW heading to the MetroRail home. The employee who served us seemed peeved when we asked if they had any good Hefes. All that he could muster to answer the question was "yes". Wasn't really looking for a yes or no answer, options/suggestions would have been appreciated. I ordered an iced mocha and as I watched the barista make my order, some of the espresso shot had spilled out onto the counter. She cleaned it up and then poured what remained of the espresso into my cup. I would have appreciated a whole shot, it was $5 after all. read more

I really like this coffee shop! Me and my bf came here on a late night trying to find a spot to study at. This place is REALLY dark, but next door is this room (if open) can be used to study! It's light and spacious. The actual coffee shop sells bagels and coffee- the coffee is okay. Kind of bitter and over priced, but it does the job. I got a lot of work done here, and it's pet friendly as well, because it has the outdoor patio. I see more people catching up here than studying, but if you find the room next door, there are plenty of outlets! read more

Yelp deleted my previous review. I spoke about how rudely the staff treated myself and my friends here the one and only time I visited, and how the management was OK with that. It's not clear to me if Wright Bros paid Yelp to remove the review or not, but that's my primary assumption. Overall: This place takes brewing coffee seriously, puts the care into coffee and makes one of the best Caps in Austin. Pros: They take a lot of care in brewing your coffee. I have never had a burnt flavored shot. They're extremely friendly. They do pairings of beef and coffee! If you're a coffee enthusiast, then this should be at the top of the list. Not to mention they're open late for beer time! Cons: Parking can be challenging as there is no dedicated lot, but most parking in the neighborhood is free. Industrial Hipster Coffee The shop's in an old industrial space: lots of concrete and old wire mesh windows with decades of old paint. I guess there were a couple dozen tables and a bar traversing most of the shop. If you're looking for a Starbucks or a sports bar, this isn't the place. The coffee was good. I had a Cortada and a blueberry muffin. My friend had a cappuccino and a croissant that might have come from La Pâtisserie. I've only been here in the morning, so I haven't tried the beer. This is the current home of Rosen's Bagels. I love those bagels y'all. Love. Them. The coffee here is quite nice as an accompanying sip for your bagel, and I've always had nice service here. They are extremely dog friendly and allowed my pup and I to enjoy the air conditioning in their adjacent open space that's shared with a cute little retail boutique. They have a great beer selection, and in case you get overwhelmed by the selection they have a very knowledgeable staff that can help you identify the perfect beer for your mood that day. Everyone is very friendly and willing to educate you on what sets different beers apart, especially Grady who is one of the Wright brothers. I've never met someone that knew so much about the beer making process and he is always willing to talk about it. Also, the coffee is pretty incredible. Now I have to admit that I can be a pretty critical customer but hot damn! This place is perfectly balanced and exceeds all of my (I'd like to think..) realistic expectations. The coffee is fantastic, it's fairly priced (~$4) drinks, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable on beer and coffee. The beer selection is eclectic, has a large variety and is also fairly priced (Whip-In be damned..). Lastly, the atmosphere is complemented with gorgeous handcrafted wood benches, tables, bars contrasted against brick and concrete in a minimalist-sort-of way. The food is great too, I've had two of their pressed sandwiches: the reuben and brisket, both hit the spot and (I believe) came with pita chips as well. For drinks, I always recommend getting the 'Brew and Brew'. I love beer. I love coffee. I love beer with coffee. FINALLY a cafe that understands that concept and creates perfect complements, I had a cortado with a chocolatey, milk stout: fantastic. Austin is saturated with coffee shops (not a bad problem) and this is one of THE ones to support, I highly recommend. read more

I will never know how good the coffee is because the owners have a completely freakish stance against serving 1/2 & 1/2, and that's what I like in my coffee. They smugly say, "our coffee is such high quality that we don't want people ruining it with additives." Okay, but they "allow" people to degrade the purity with sugar and whole milk. But cream? The woman acted like I'd just suggested she spit in my coffee, not put cream in it. It's so insane that they are so proud of taking a stand against cream. Someone should put a pitcher of cream outside the door and charge 25¢ a pour. Texas Coffee Traders is right around the corner, and they make an amazing espresso. Plus they're real Austin: unique, friendly, and accepting of all walks of life - even those of us who like cream. read more

I had the founders stout and he orange blossom IPA and both were great. They offer half sizes such as 10oz so you don't have to drink as much. Brew & Brew...who'd a thunk? cleverly pun named coffeeshop that serves beer and coffee pairings. the baristas are quite helpful with helping you pair the right beer with the right coffee. i had the cortado with revolver blood and honey and it was quite refreshing. i love a buzz with my caffeine kick. brew and brew is a nice spot to study and plug in your mac. there's a nice studio next door where you can sit and check out art work while listening to vinyl records. read more

We went here a while back and the barista was an absolute dick, so it really left a bad taste in our mouths toward the place, but my best friend really wanted to grab coffee there today so I begrudgingly went back and it was a much better experience. The baristas were super sweet and friendly and I asked for an iced mocha and they made one of the best iced mochas I've ever drank. Two complaints about the place that I have is the place looks pretty big but I feel like seating is fairly limited, and two, they leave the big garage door open next to the register which can make it a little warm on the hotter days. Nice spot and I definitely recommend if you want to study or work someplace with a little noise here and there or with headphones. I had a delicious cold brew coffee and sat down on a Friday morning to study using the free wifi for a couple of hours. Friendly baristas....Nice ambience, and it was not quiet but not very loud most of the time, so the noise level was okay for me. People came and went pretty frequently so it ended up with a low noise level by late morning. I would have given 5 stars if the seats were more comfortable. There is street parking for up to 5 hours, so come ready to pay at least during the weekdays $1/hr. Not bad.... read more

Wright Brothers Brew & Brew is a nice place, and seemed to be an early-adopter of the "brew and brew" concept. They took the Progress Coffee space and added the second brew. The staff is knowledgeable about both brews, and offers good advice. I'll visit again when I'm in the area. read more

Great place to grab a drink - whether it be coffee or beer. I was staying in the apartment next door, so it was a super convenient location. Incredibly laid back vibe (I felt like I was in Portland) with a huge selection of beers on tap.
